S5 s currently the best miner in the market. However, S6 should be out soon.

Interesting ! I'll have the S5 from a friend and maybe I'll buy the S6 after some time like this the price will go down.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the S6. If the past is any indication of the future, the S6 will be a more "data center friendly" S5. By that I mean it will likely have the same BM138x chips that are in the S5, but more of them in a package that fits in a 19-inch rack cabinet. The S6 will likely have an integrated power supply of unknown quality, and it's acoustic profile is completely unknown at this time.

I wouldn't expect the S6 to be a "quantum leap" over the S5, except in terms of packaging.

Better to buy 1155GH/s from Hashnest

www.hashnest.com
Antminer S5
Power: 0.51w/GHS
Maintenance Fee:$0.001175/GHS/Day

Then you see yourself, is S5 profitable or not.

Since Bitmain lowered the cost of purchasing one S5 to hash to $390 it is a bit less expensive to go ahead and buy one miner, converted to hashrate rather than buy S5 GH/s on the internal market. It will be interesting to see what the S6 sells for.

Any ETA on S6?

You can take a look at the S6 speculation thread at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/antminer-s6-speculation-903228

What about the SP20?  I'm replacing my army of old S1's and don't know which way to go.

The SP20 ? I don't know it.

Just search it on this site, google, ebay.  It is a good quality miner, that has a lot of underclock ability.

They are sold out though and you will have to get from someone who currently owns them.

It really comes down to what your electric rate is. If it'd cheap it might be a good idea but if it's above the average rate not worth it

I'll check my bill and post it here. You'll tell me if it is above cheap or not.

I couldn't understand that site plus apart from bitmain, I am not going to any coinflare-slowed website.

Cloudflare is a great service. Not only does it cache websites locally for everyone in the world (rather than 400ms ping to Chinese servers), it provides DDOS protection. Bitmain and several other Bitcoin services are under attack because they did not pay ransoms. On top of all that, Cloudflare does it for FREE.

Cloudflare is free ?

Yes, the vast majority of features are free (including the local geo-caching and DDOS protection). There are premium services you can use to further increase website loading speeds including various forms of compression, but I've never used or needed them.

That's nice !

Unfortunately Cloudflare is useless for protecting a mining pool as they don't support custom protocol's such as stratum.

I respect them more for not paying.  They did not choose the easy way, and it has caused some troubles.   But if they paid it would happened again and again.

I do hope they can fix some things sooner then others.  I personally miss running my miners on the antpool.  I will be back once they fix it.

We need to know more such as your electricity rate, and price you were offered.

Without those we really cannot say much.

I know someone who want to stop his mining activities so I can have it free. I'll tell how much is my electricity rate until I get back home to look at the bill.

if you can have it free, you are in a good position already, with cheap electricity ROI is possible in this case, just hope bitcoin don't crash

My advice is to pay electricity out of it at some points.   Then even if a crash you have electricity paid.

If I dont make profit I will shut down.  I know I go through spreadsheets a few times a week to see my position if it's better or worse.  It is not needed this much, I just enjoy it.

If Bitcoin crashes the price will always go back after some time.
