Anyone heard from ammi I can compete part time in the gekko run. I've updated the thread but not been added yet

Yes cancel it from the run, will not be replacing.

The problem with the Gekko is getting it to start hashing, even at 425MHz it sometimes takes a dozen replugs, once running it's very reliable. I have an idea that it's associated with my poor / slow Internet connection? A few days ago it was even worse than usual particularly on the Back-channel and I could hardly get the Miner going even at lower frequencies.

First R1 is still dead and no plans for it at the moment.
Ohh, thats very pity Sad.
Do you think about replacing it with a new one?
Or should we cancel it from antrun?

On the Gekko I am stuck at 425MHz, no problem with voltage or cooling I just find the higher I go the more difficult it is to get hashing.
Rich
Hmm, my gekko runs perfect at 450MHz, w/o any drop downs....
The Hashrate is nearly 24GH/s and I count zero HW errors since it runs Cool

In lack of time and prefered other projects, I still not going further,
but will try it this weekend, i think...

Let me know, if you get some success and new results Smiley!

Here's the link to where I first took one apart.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12735402

Later in the thread there is more info. Simply you can go a bit higher in frequency with no changes. Then you need more cooling, then you need to up the core voltage to go further, then more cooling and so on...

The info is spread around in this thread and the one I have linked to above. Have a good read and decide if it's for you?

Rich
Hi Rich,
how are you Smiley?
Did you get some progress to achieve the 500MHz-Gekko goal?
And whats about your first R1 @antrun?
Hope you´ll bring it alive soon?

So there is another possibility to open as the Antrouter and to build in a power supply ?
Hi Sascha1980,
it´s not as trivial.

First of all you should take a look at our (RichBC´s and my) work and discussion about it... (to find earlier in this thread!)

I screwed up the Vcore to 0.96V and got my Antrouter running @ 500MHz for about 1,5 hours with peltier cooling.
(Thats the possible maximum at the moment)

Whats to do for it:
1. you have to open the case
2. you need to connect a proper external 5V power supply (6A-10A, depend on your desired maximum Hashrate)
3. you have to modify/solder the PCB to be able to remove a fixed resistor and add finally a pot for the buck converter to screw up the Core voltage.
4. if you make something wrong, there is a high risk, to kill the ASIC! (Overvoltage)
5. keep in mind: IT´s ALL ON YOUR OWN RISK!
6. Warranty is lost and there is a danger of electrical shock (don´t use the internal powersupply in any way after opened the case!)
7. and finally (like Rich correct said Smiley), a sufficient cooling is neccessary of course!!!

If any question feel free to ask us (Rich or me Wink).

Cheers,
andY

Yes, I saw that!
But what value has to go in there !
0800 or 0825 or 0888 no idea

As has been said you cannot change the voltage from within the Software. The value is not looked at and can be set to anything or nothing, it makes no difference.

You can't change the voltage. Just the freq.

Hello Antrouter Runners .

I 've read a lot .
But how can I change the voltage and especially in what I need to change it ?
Currently 0725 !
I can do that is not more than 156.25 frequency .
I hope someone can help me or give a manual

LOL.... like that Nike ad..... "Impossible is Nothing".... if my R1 hits a block... I will keep 15 coins, and donate 10 coins to our R1 group...... wake me up when this dream ends....
Yea I said the same thing when we started these.  If I happened, by some astronomical chance, to solve a block I would totally share some of the reward with the group.  Keeps it fun!

Great guys Smiley!
Now I hope, one of you get a block asap Grin!!!

Very generous and from the figures I see you are planning on hitting a Block before the halving.  Grin

Rich

For sure before! After the halving you get only tip for a block  Grin

the last block from kano pool was a 1.05 TH miner - OMG!

Who knows .... R1 may have a chance... we never know.
Yeah I do my best to solve one before the halving  Wink
