I used CGminer to mine Litecoins 2 years ago.
I actually bought a R1 after I read this thread, because of this fun community.
The Antpool is big enough. I believe in decentralization. I also live in Europe. Why should I be mining for the Chinese ?
Once I flash the firmware, will the R1 still run autonomously ?
From 1 to 10, is it easy to do ?
Can i go back if it does not work ?
As part as my hobby project, I may adding a U3 unit to my R1 next year, will I still be able to stay in this community ?

yes, you don´t wired only to the antpool, after flashing the CFW, you´r able to choose your prefered pool 
.(After flashing, the R1 works also autonomously of course!)

If you decide to fall back to default, it´s very easy.You only have to press the R1 Reset button, after than it´s factory resetted.

Yes, of course, mate . But you should create a separate worker name for your U3, so it´s excluded from our competition , ´cause only R1 or GekkoMiner are permitted in our race.
