It is up to you how you gamble and what advantages you see from it, I think there is no advantage and its quite neutral. You loose 0.01 BTC in dice sites say when wager 1 btc , so the fun you get is also worth around 0.01 BTC , but for some people win is main aim and that is where problem comes.
As long as you are gambling without aiming for making profits, you can find many advantages from playing gambling. But I suggest to gamble with the little money which you are able to afford even on loosing it. The only advantages from gambling is doubling your money fast or losing your money fast. Also some people do gambling just for fun and gambling for making profit.

Advantages of gambling? Well... you can look at it from two different ways: from a gambler's perspective, and from a casino owner's perspective. From a gambler's perspective, the advantages can consist of mostly entertainment. I guess in a sense, you're paying for the entertainment and a possibility of getting your cash back. That's kind of a better way to have fun, since you're able to have a "refund" or even potentially profit. That could be appealing.
