As of now, I don't see USA banning bitcoin because most of the investors come from there. And I don't think bitcoin has done any harm to the government of USA. Americans are more open-minded to change and new systems and prohibiting the use of bitcoin is unlikely.

Actually till now there is less chance to get bitcoin banned in USA , but you never know the govt and central bank could  do whatever they want. But effectively actual it's not possible.

As time goes by chances of it banning cryptos are going down. With time there will be more and more supporters who are also business owners and taxpayers. It's stupid to go against a large group of people and fight them if they're what the economy is relying on. There's also that little thing that Bitcoin is a vital part of the Internet. How are you going to ban that? You failed to ban torrents and you want to ban bitcoin?

Currently the United States is a country that strongly supports the development of crypto technology. If USA will ban bitcoin and I do not think there's a reason for the united states to ban bitcoin. The United States is a powerful superpower and they will not be worried if bitcoin technology affects their natural state or economic situation. Cool

That's not going to happen for sure. USA is always on the top or one step ahead when it comes to technology and innovation so it would be a slap to their faces seeing bitcoin very successful other countries like Japan and South Korea.

Just watched the Netflix documentary "Banking on Bitcoin" recently, and on there they showed a recorded a government hearing about bitcoin (which i believe happened in 2015) and how they planned on taking it on. After that hearing, it kind of gave me some reassurance that if bitcoin was to be banned it would of happened a couple years ago. I think the only thing to come forth now is regulations which is to be expected and from what I've been hearing from some experts is a good thing But to see those results, only time will tell.

Every country are starting to ban. What if USA ban? how will it go?

Many of crypto investors come exactly for the USA. I suppose the country will just go on forewarning people about the risks connected with Bitcoin and altcoins, but I do not think there will be a ban.

Well the most common one can not afford to be all is liberated and there is a government that is really open minded to change even if we can not see all of us always have one number to adapt to the very first other countries are actually following it but I would really say that its big cryptocurrency part is really cash even in the same country a USA to support ceyprocurrency in all countries is also fair to join this community and we has a mentality with a lot of workers and we all fall to just try to get us of the path.and baseless of speculation USA will never ban at bitcoin .we see the bitcoin eben more the post trump as strong a USA had even receive its bitcoin. Just for everyone future .if you really are looking long time ago I was able to have been banned instead of worrying about a ban .so start well we bought it before is not all pretending .

Every country are starting to ban. What if USA ban? how will it go?

If you really think any country (except for china making some real jabs at crypto) has started banning crypto then you did not do any research on any of the claims made by the news and not informed yourself of the recent updates bt the sec and the head of european bank.

you are part of the problem, gullible and even spreading fud.

Until now US has no clear direction on the regulation of any cryptocurrency but people are hoping that soon there will be. Similar situation with other countries, SEC always warn the risks on investing in cryptocurrency and as this will possibly be used in money-laundering activities. Government meetings has been called and the federal government has plan of exploring the marketplace of cryptocurrency because they are suspecting that bitcoin is equivalent to the so-called "Swiss bank account". If ever it will be regulated it will be in a state-by-state basis.

Arizona is close to allowing residents to pay taxes in bitcoin so I don't think a total btc ban is around the corner in the US. We expect many other states to start embracing bitcoin.

It feels like this forum and reddit don't even see each other.   You probably didn't hear the major hearing on Capitol Hill.  lol   I was wonder if this post was old or not then I saw it's after a Monday.   Hey OP go to reddit instead of tunnel vision into one website.

Bitcoin is a new currency that was created in 2009 by an unknown person using the alias Satoshi Nakamoto. Transactions are made with no middle men , no banks. But now its most popular coin and digital currency in the world. So its impossible  to ban usa but they try to using  bitcoin properly. https://cointelegraph.com/news/sec-hints-at-tighter-regulation-for-icos-smart-policies-for-true-cryptocurrencies

I think this is unlikely to happen.
And, not so many countries are banning a Bitcoin, rather trying to regulate it.

I heard the US authorities recognized bitcoin as a useful technological tool
for the development of the financial system.
It's just them more or less softly admitting that crypto has potential, but that's really it. These words are positive regardless of how you look at them, but remember, words are just words and can change later on.

The most interesting part will be what level of regulations they will be coming up with. They have been hinting at more regulations, but haven't gone in depth about how this will impact the market and our freedom as user.

As long as the regulations are fair, they will stimulate further growth of our crypto industry. Just think about it, without the regulations we have experienced already, we wouldn't be where we are right now.

They'll simply extend the existing regulations they have for online stock brokers, to cryptocurrency exchanges.

I doubt the USA wants Japan and Switzerland to become the leading players in this brave new world, so they won't ban it.

No one is banning BTC, they ban buying BTC with Credit cards. in USA Credit card have more power than in other countries, they didn't ban Bank Wire transfer, Debit cards etc... Getting credit - loan for buying BTC in USA make problems for a lot people. Imagine how you would feel if you took loan from bank and bought BTC for 19000$ and now is 8k... and you spent 50-100k$ in start?
This dip is made to collect BTC from panic sellers and it's not happening 1st time.
Those who own power to share bad news about BTC are doing that right now and will do that for some time. After that again will come good news and we go up again.
Next question for long term is that will BTC stay as main coin is questionable, for some longer period it will but in the future some new better coins will pop up or get stronger and money from BTC will go to those coins over time and you need to be ready for that transition.
So, if they ban BTC that's equal banning crypto in general which won't happen 100%

I can't imagine that if the US banned bitcoin, it would be a bear market in cryptocurrency markets.
Because the us is so influential in the world, if the us bans bitcoin, other countries will follow suit, leading to a sharp fall in the price of bitcoin.

I don't see every country banned the bitcoin trading, I don't know the source of news, the south Korean government has admitted the legitimacy of the bitcoin The development of bitcoin in japan is very good, because it is legal in Japan
I haven't heard anything about the U.S. government's ban on bitcoin. Can you give me the source of the information? If not, please stop the rumor.
