alright I setup a button for .001BTC. try it out and I'll post what I see in the account history. http://bitpoker.biz/2011/07/test-only/ may have to PM me so I can get your BTC address to return the coins

Don't return them; You're doing me a favour... But can you set it to 0.01? I'm still running an old version.

alright I updated the button to .01

Okay, sent twice to the same generated address (15L1iV2vYEXj2bTNHT8cR3sE5i66qjmkJf).

Let me know if you get both, or only 0.01.

Cheers.

You're right, I only see one.

SON OF A BITCH!

So on this occasion, mybitcoin.com has simply kept 0.01 btc for themselves

...and this confirms to me that THEY are the ones that kept my 10 BTC from before.

Check out that photo I posted above, they donated .01 to THEMSELVES from MY ACCOUNT without my authorization.

I guess I shouldn't be too shocked, based on the fact that they have THIS https://www.mybitcoin.com/images/nevis-coa.png right on their contact page.

Good test. Maybe they donated my.12 btc to themselves before they went down. I wonder how much they have been making with small slight of hand technique.

Before anyone else starts ANOTHER thread about this, please realize that the UABB is already spearheading a legal and unbiased investigation into MyBitcoin.com but needs your support. Discussion about MyBitcoin.com is very healthy for the sharing of ideas and suggestions on how to tackle this very serious and difficult problem, but nothing will be done about it through forum posts.
Were you not even checking that forum threads had been replied to recently before spamming them with this? The last post in this thread prior to yours was nearly a month ago.

I had a payout of 1 btc from slush on 7/3 that never arrived at mybitcoin.
Here's the block explorer of the wallet address:

http://blockexplorer.com/address/16d6KQZyX5LAYehs3mYcCEjHvjPttjY5bt

It's clearly not in my history on mybitcoin. I've got nothing between 6/29 and 7/7. and on 7/7 the only thing is my withdrawal of what I had in there.

I've sent them a couple of messages, no response yet (been about 3 days).

Since no one else is answering your question:

Yes, you can still have btc sent to any old addresses mybitcoin.com generates and they should show up in your wallet.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I had a transaction sent to one of their temp addresses when i was testing a payment module for prestashop that never ever arrived at my account! 5bitcents that got "lost" someplace in the block chain.

Too bad i don't know which address anymore or i would show it to you...

I have people that have sent two payments from the same button and both the transactions showed up in my account online

But is that to the ONE bitcoin address?

Well, if you're using the buttons I'm not sure if mybitcoin generates a new address for each transaction, but yes they all ended up at the same address at mybitcoin.com

Yeah I think that's different... what I'm saying is click ONE of the buttons, then when mybitcoin tells you to send x.xx btc to address yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, you accidentally send the amount twice, and apparently mybitcoin.com will just keep the over-payment.

If you can you set up a button somewhere for 0.01 BTC and I'll do the above, and we'll see if you get both or just the first one.

lost 1btc there, never got it, that's not good enough for me

Likewise, with 10 BTC.

How long ago did this occur? Were you ever able to contact anyone about this? That seems like a big chunk of bitcoins. I use this site often and keep hearing bad things. I hope I'm not that guy that comes back here in two months all pissed off because they stole my coins...

It was about 1 month+ ago (not sure).

I got a response back in about 3 weeks via the internal messaging system. The response was basically "can't help you".

Perhaps some other merchant will know the answer to this...

When someone clicks 'buy' and gets taken to mybitcoin.com page to make their payment, if they pay twice to the same temporary mybitcoin.com address, do both payments arrive in your account or only the first one?

The mybitcoin.com page says "pay exactly x.xx BTC"... where does the money end up if you pay a different amount (or accidentally pay that amount twice)?

Well--whenever I have had people send money to my bitcoin account it has been through using their Merchant Tools button. You set the price for that button and you cannot change the amount being paid. I have people that have sent two payments from the same button and both the transactions showed up in my account online, the first arriving before the other. Granted--I have only been transferring amounts under 1BTC. I have not used it for large transactions yet.

Does anyone have any experience with mybitcoin.com?
I know with my own wallet, I can have different addresses in my wallet_id. If I generate new address in mybitcoin.com; what happens to my old address? Can I still get the btc sent to the old address?

I actually like mybitcoin quite a bit. I use it often for my site. It's basically what a paypal merchant account gives you, but for BitCoin. You can generate these addresses to send and receive money. You can also use the merchant tools to create payment buttons. They having a shopping cart api, but I really haven't been able to mess with it much.

So basically to answer your question, the wallet on your computer will remain on your computer. Your mybitcoin account is a separate wallet that is online, just like paypal. You can always receive bitcoin at the addresses on the wallet on your computer and the ones you create in your mybitcoin account. However--you will have to move any bitcoins received in your my bitcoin account to your wallet computer.

This service is for people to quickly send and receive bitcoins with no fee. You can also send very, very small amounts with no fee. I have never been locked out of my account, granted, I've only been using the service a month.

Hope that answers your question!  Cool
