I use a RSS reader subscribed to cointelegraph news feed. I usually check it once every few days because I am not really a news person. Being a long term trader, I take these just for getting the knowledge and not making decisions on buying or selling.

Instead of a seperate app I find having an RSS reader is much compact because I can add in other feeds that I need in the same app.

Please base your trading decisions on the numbers and trends. Not on the news' face value.

Installing app for such purpose is overboard already for such purpose IMO. There are some telegram channels/account for this like this one[1] made by OmegaStarScream, since almost anyone who wants privacy and currently here in crypto space uses telegram.
Otherwise, use websites that was mentioned above and just bookmarked them.

Thanks for the mention. If anyone has looked into it and didn't see any messages, that's because the Bot was down for the last 24 hours or so. I had problems with the server hosting it but it's back online now.

Yeah, I agree. Installing an app for Bitcoin and other related news is rather superfluous.

Better yet, use this forum instead. At least, here, you'd also be able to read an informative discussion about the news. One problem with many crypto news sites or crypto news publications or magazines is that comments are not allowed. As a result, wrong information and other errors can't be raised or pointed out to the author. And since many crypto news articles are not well-researched and are usually merely done to continuously create new contents, they're prone to error.

I remember I was amazed at information I gathered through a news article only to found out here that they were wrong. But that article must have already been rewritten a number of times in other news sites, thereby spreading the wrong information everywhere. This was about the imperfections of the Bitcoin logo.

Why must you use an application for that? May I recommend the good ol' Google search by simply heading over to the "News" section and searching what you're looking for? In this particular scenario, Bitcoin will simply present you with a handful of the latest articles from many different news websites, all accumulated in one simple search. I don't believe you need anything more than that, and it's much more convenient and versatile than visiting a specific website that may even be biased when I'm looking to read the latest news regarding a specific coin or incident.

hey do anyone know a good and free news app (android) for bitcoin and other crypto?

Why don't you use social networks like x.com, reddit... where you can update news as quickly as possible instead of following general news websites.  moreover, you should find yourself a few reliable sources to follow, do not follow too much will only waste your time and dilute the information.  I used to struggle like you to find complete and fast sources of market news.  but in the end, I found that by using x.com and Reddit social networks, I could almost get market news pretty fast.

Why would you need an app for cryptocurrency news? Just open your browser and type in coindesk.com or cointelegraph.com. Its all the same news with slightly different headlines. Their websites should be phone friendly, although I honestly have not accessed them through my phone just yet. So I would not know. And in any way you would need an internet connection for either news app or browser. It just seems a bit strange to me. Like microwaving pop-tarts when you have a toaster. Just how many seconds of your time are you trying to save?  Roll Eyes Tongue
Having to open apps on phone just to get bitcoin news is a lot of work. I know it is the OP's preference but he or she needs to consider the amount of stress they have to put up with just to get the crypto news. Also, they have to constantly deal with the ads pop ups that accompanies using those mobile apps which I find really annoying.

All the OP need is a chrome browser and whenever they want crypto news just go and search for " Bitcoin news now", or " Crypto news now" or whatever keywords you want then go ahead and filter what you want. It is that simple instead of an app that would occupy your phone space, make you annoyed and leave you vulnerable to hacks and other security threats. Totally not worth it.

almost all the social media can give you cryptocurrency news. And also all the exchange platforms give cryptocurrency news. Social media handles that can give correct information on cryptocurrency are, Instagram and Twitter and the exchanges are Binance, Coinbase, coingecko. And finally you can get any cryptocurrency related news from Bitcointalk forum. All what you have to do to navigate and read posts and ask questions if you don't understand a particular thing.

I am not familiar with such applications but a few of the applications with features of the regular crypto news-based articles and tutorial videos and sometimes expert views and analysis on it. At the same time, if you can follow some blogs and websites, I can suggest Cointelegraph, crypto news, and Coindesk. For the regular news and updates you need to be a little active with social media I'm not talking about regular social media you can say CT crypto Twitter or Crypto social media.

You need put some efforts by yourself to be updated with the market rather than being dependent on any sort of application.

I have to warn OP with a reminder that self-limit number of applications installed on a device is better.

If you install so many applications on your device, it will have more risk of hacks, exploitations as a user, you have no way to verify security of those applications. If one of applications is exploited, your device is infected.

You will live with potential nightmare if you store your cryptocurrency on that device or install exchange applications on that device and log in your accounts on it as well.

Op also do not forget to follow this ....

thanks, i will try coingecko, i already heared about it. i think there is less commercial in the app and its free?
It should be free and can be found under Explorer and then News, but it is not as good as CryptoPanic, which is mentioned above. It is a news aggregator that crawls all crypto news feeds meaning you can find almost all Bitcoin and altcoin-related news.

Alternatively, you can use coinspectator.com the only problem with this is it does not have an app yet but it is a good alternative for CryptoPanic.

Twitter. I've found recommendations to get the most updated bitcoin information and news on Twitter.
I experienced first hand how quickly updated information and news are shared by Twitter users.

Information from twitter, go to browser to check sources like at bitcoinmagazine.com, bitcointalk forum in press section, cointelegraph.com

Many members already shared the most used and famous apps but i think instead of opening apps and looking for news on those apps you should joining TG bots too, The platforms above members shared have there own TG bots or channels where they share the same news the plus point will be you would be able to see the NEWS in an ordered way which sometimes comes handy.

And also easy to read too because on TG they share Title and summary of the article while on those apps or websites they don't. I am not asking you to do it necessarily because I found TG bots a good source for quick overview so I gave you this idea. Otherwise how you find it handy.

Obviously there are a lot but you have to choose from them according to your needs. Do you want to know about upcoming events of a project? Or you just want to know latest crypto news for being updated? Both of them are necessary because to be a good trader you have to keep eyes on upcoming potential events because then price can move significantly.
To know about upcoming events news and latest news the best application will be Coinmarketcal . Here is the application link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coincal

Anyway some good news apps have been shared already and I am just adding some others. I will advise OP to try them and choose the perfect one for him. For latest crypto news related apps you can add these in your list and choose the best one.

1. Crypto news
2. Coinstats
3. Coinview
4. Bitnews
5. Coindex

The less news you read, the better but if you like news and want to digest news, let's use

If you are not experienced enough to filter news to classify them as news for actual events or just FUD, don't read news.

Apps specifically made for news about crypto are good, but you do not always have to use and depend on them if you know your way around the internet or even on any social media platform where you can simply follow crypto related feeds. Also just so you know how badly this can affect you if you are not emotionally strong, if you develop the habit of always checking the news about bitcoins and what is happening to it, you will most likely be susceptible to Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD).
