What is the biggest advantage of the CLAM?

What is the advantage of using clams over any other alt, or indeed bitcoin?
I know justdice accept them, but other than copycatting why should everyone else follow?

P.S. I will either bet mine or trade them for BTC.

The advantage is that CLAM has already been distributed to every Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Litecoin wallet that was in use on May 12th 2014 around 1pm EST.  Each wallet that was in use that day has been given 4.6CLAM attached to it.

You need to "dig" the CLAMS in order to use them.

If you want to check to see if your address has free CLAMS simply come to the Just-dice troll box and type.

Code:
/dig

If it turns out that address was funded with CLAM then be sure you move all the Bitcoins, Litecoins or Dogecoins off of that address and never use it again.  Then type:

Code:
/dig

It takes about 10 minutes for the CLAMS to be in your balance after that! (1 min block times and 10 confirmations required)

After they are credited to your balance you are welcome to withdraw them to any exchanges that excepts them Smiley Bada boom bada bing!

i think clam would be on the rise, since just-dice alone.

I just found out today, that technically we can still play on just-dice but with that alt coin which I wasnt aware of..

A lot of players and investors still don't know about just-dice reopening, when they do some of them will play and invest so there is a high growth potential.

The price will likely go touch 0.01 again at times where the supply is low and the demand is high
I think the price would increase because of other casinos starting to accept CLAM .

Thats really great news. Would be great for the CLAMS.
What are clams worth? I can't seem to figure out what the whole meaning of these things is.

1 CLAM = 0.0027 BTC.
https://www.poloniex.com/exchange#btc_clam

It may be just another altcoin, but sites taking CLAM could attract users from JD to their sites.

Yes, exactly. More sites are likely to accept CLAM. Because if they do so, they will be accessible to another group of people who have CLAMS.

Even though initially CLAM was supposed to be comparable to play-money, it is not exactly that. It has great potential to rise.

The problem with these small alt coins is that they are very unstable against BTC. One day its worth 50% less than what it was worth before. So many people only keep BTC. Even LTC is falling badly.

No.

I would patronize other casinos (like FortuneJack) that use CLAMS.

I'm looking at CLAMS like play money, and would have used that equivalent amount of funds for beer, entertainment, etc. - if not for gambling.

We started accepting CLAM but as an growing exchange we had to do it. In our opinion CLAM has a lot of potential and will attract more gambling sites soon.

You should also check us out if you are looking to buy some CLAM and emptied your old adresses already. Wink

Why offer Clam and not Bitcoin?

Becasue Just-dice owner is a Canadian, Canada has some laws restrict BTC but not restrict altcoins, that's why JD was shut down several months ago.

Wrong, he shut down doge-dice as well, which was based around an altcoin. The reason CLAM is supposedly legal is that there is no CLAM to USD (or other currency) exchange, so it does not fall under the same regulations.

I know only of JD now.

Are there any other sites accepting CLAM deposits (now/plans for the future?) ?

Sorry OP, but people is selling CLAM for a reason: the only thing you can use it for is to gamble on JD.
After the price "got better" I sold it too. I advice you do the same.

The CLAM price is going back down now to 0.0051 with a 22% drop in 24 hours.

Crash! It's 0.0049 now I don't even want to claims that free Clams now. That's not worthy of revealing my private key.

I want to buy things with CLAM if I managed to dig my CLAM. Cryptocurrency should not be used for gambling only.

the reality is about 75% of bitcoiners are gamblers  Undecided

No, I disagree with that, it's only 50% of the btc moving on the blockchain is being sent to btc gambling sites

I know only of JD now.

Are there any other sites accepting CLAM deposits (now/plans for the future?) ?

THere is no other site which accepts CLAM right now, but a lot of exchanges might pick up the coin soon enough.
I think one other exchange already has.

At present I have only heard of other sites considering it
Like fortunejack

Thank you for the suggestion. We are considering adding 3 more coins at this point. Please keep posting suggestions and our team members will analyze all of them.

Also we plan to do a poll on FortuneJack on which coins to add.

Are you considering Clam too?

Yes, Clam is also under consideration based on our users suggestions.

Just Dice already accounts for one third of all the CLAM in circulation.  Probably not a lot of reserves floating around.  While another site or two would be great for the coin, I would be wary of liquidity concerns.

No. At the moment only JD seems to be accepting it but with the current hype I am sure others will start accepting it soon. I just wonder how many clams must be lost.  I myself had so many addresses that I used then but I have lost/deleted their keys and there's no way of getting them back.

lol. I have the same problem. I couldn't dig a single CLAM from my addresses.

The winners are the exchanges. Sad

I disagree. Make it 10 to 30%. Tongue
Most people don't even take the bitcoins out of the exchange (or only to buy something.). (I am assuming bitcoiners include everyone who deals with it.)

There aren't except JD, although I think it will become a popular alt-currency in gambling with cryptos after the JD added it.
