Monero first delisted Binance and now delisted Kraken. Monero does not belong on a CEX.
Delisted? It ain't matter at all to whomever who prioritize using less Cex's. Do you believe that having or using it is illegal? or are exchanges the only ones unable to list it? After Binance announced that it was delisting trades for XMR ( i still have access of my account that there is only option for receiving it and individual can't buy on platform), I discontinued using centralized exchanges for monero from that day. Now none of any f**king cex's matters whether they do ban on xmr or not, we do now have bunch of dex's available for trades in incognito which ain't requires mostly kyc for aml.

As probably everyone knows, Kraken is forced to delist Monero in EU
Privacy shouldn't be on Cex's. Wink

Sad to see this old thread nearly dead.

I sustain it was (nearly) killed more by the anti-maxi hoard and "the state" than by anything wrong with Monero.

Bottom line though has not yet changed.  Bitcoin is evolving to be the thing Satoshi meant for it to be.

Monero still points the way in areas Bitcoin has fallen short.

Both will exist for some time.

Eventually?  Tech built on Bitcoin could rival Monero's privacy advantage?

Until then... Huh

Oh.. I forgot to mention... somehow XMR hashrate seems to be organically climbing to all time highs?  Perhaps?

With how mainstream btc has gotten I doubt they would add any additional privacy features to appease all the kyc exchanges/governmental agencies; however even if they did, I would imagine Monero still has features that make it totally unique to Bitcoin like dynamic block sizes, tail emissions, etc.

Only exchange I can think of that is kyc-less and has xmr is altquick, BAC's exchange.

I think you can add exch.cx and tradeogre.

Monero is not doing bad at all given how the hashrate doing, in essence, for a coin to be dead mining must cease.
It indeed suffers from a lot of FUD by some people yet only those weak of mind or conformists will listen, exchanges delisting it is doing most harm.
Im not sure tech built on bitcoin could compare to monero.

Atomic swaps sound amazing.

Has anyone received the problem of CEX asked for the source of funds? I was asked to show the proof of my Monero when those were transferred to the CEX in 2018. Obviously, nobody keeps the record for a long time. Now, the CEC freeze my account.

It is HTX. Has anyone share the same problem, if so, any recommendation?

Did you lost funds on HTX?

You should read the following thread : HTX / Huobi / Justin Sun refuse to return my ~3 BTC

Yes. Significant amount. I share the same problem and wishes to see if anyone can guide the solution. Pretty lost how to do next.

This news is in Japanese
https://www.nikkei.com/article/DGXZQOUE211MN0R21C24A0000000/

The article says the criminals were trying to launder money using Monero, which is considered strictly confidential, but the suspect was identified by tracking the flow.

As probably everyone knows, Kraken is forced to delist Monero in EU - What it really does is makes Monero stronger by eliminating paper sells and we can still easily use Kraken (or any other exchange that delisted Monero) by adding just one hop that I described in my post:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/kraken-delisting-monero-in-eu-adds-just-1-hop-to-the-end-user-5511533

This is the simplest solution for people who want to continue using their favorite exchange without getting into poor UX DeX or low liquidity / low trust / high fees exchanges that still provide Monero.

Hopefully better solutions as Serai will soon™ hit the road.

Monero Expert Fact Checks Chainalysis Video Claiming XMR Transactions Can Be Traced
Users can avoid sharing their IP address while using XMR by running their own node on the network, said former Monero committee member Csilla Brimer.
A Monero committee member has refuted recent allegations based on a leaked Chainalysis presentation to the IRS that implies the privacy-focused cryptocurrency can be traced.

Monero (XMR) is the world’s most popular privacy coin and is specifically built to hide the addresses and transactions of those on its network.

We greatly appreciate Monero (XMR) for its unwavering commitment to privacy and security in the cryptocurrency space. Unlike many other cryptocurrencies, Monero employs advanced features like stealth addresses and ring signatures, ensuring that transactions remain confidential and untraceable. This focus on anonymity not only empowers users to have full control over their financial data but also promotes a more equitable and decentralized financial system. In an era where privacy concerns are paramount, Monero stands out as a vital player in preserving individual freedom in financial transactions.

It's quite funny to read this beautiful text full of idealism about privacy and "promoting a more equitable and decentralized financial system", while you are a company which is collaborating with LE and oppressing your users with KYC and AML procedures:

By creating an order on the website, the Client agrees that an AML/KYC check may be carried out against him.
  2. If, based on the results of the analysis of AML-cryptocurrency assets, a risk higher than 40% is identified, or any of the following labels are received:

    DARK SERVICE
    SCAM
    STOLEN
    MIXING (MIXER)
    SEXTORTION
    RANSOMWARE
    HACK
    PHISHING
    TERRORISM FINANCING
    FRAUD
    BLACKLIST
    STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION
    CYBERCRIME ORGANIZATION
    NARCOTICS
    CHILD ABUSE
    HUMAN TRAFFICKING
    SANCTIONS
    GAMBLING (Casino, Betting, etc.)

And other high-risk assets, the Client’s transaction may be frozen for an indefinite period until complete identification verification (KYC) is completed.

Your privacy policy is quite intrusive too: https://quickex.io/docs/en-privacy-policy

Is it your conception of a more equitable and decentralized financial system?
