I would have never said a year ago that we would have people complaining about a average Bitcoin price of $1200. We get complacent very

quickly and forget that the price was averaging at $400 to $500 per bitcoin for a very long time. I enjoy the short term stability and I think the

merchants accepting bitcoins feels the same. {Volatility is not good for merchants}  Sad

Yeah, that is realy strange people have fear of good Bitcoin price. Like they think this is some kind of bubble that will soon burst and something terrible will happen. But periods of high pric and more or less stable price have happened before too. But I suppose this is human's nature, if the price was low they would complain about beeing worthless.

Bitcoin never stays stable for more than 3 weeks, so a move will happen sooner or later.

Usually alts get pumped before a BTC dump and they get dumped before or during a BTC dump, so watch the alts market might give some indication of future moves

It seems new information for me. I noticed that bitcoin price is always fluctuating in the chart and sometime it get bumped to the big value in the chart. from the past three weeks price seems settled around 1100$ to 1200$,but i expect bitcoin to touched the new peak value very soon.

Whats happening with the price?Huh

Bad news came out?
Right now bitcoin prices are trading ~2% down from yesterday's close which seems very much normal and we could never expect prices to hold and keep on raising all the times, this fall must be usual fluctuation do happen when few traders book their profits and few other get panic.

I believe we are on verge of getting segwit to be activated or new proposal of layer-2 blocks to be implemented into current blockchain mechanism to avoid hard fork for ever. Something is going to happen to make bitcoin prices to fly again, this fall may be another opportunity to get in.

Trading ~2% for me seems normal as I have seen this kind of trending before. This is still fine as long is ~2-4%. I don't know about the activation of segwit though that will cause a drop of the bitcoin price. however, this news might only affect the price temporarily but not for a longer term. So bitcoin price will rise again in the future.

This is getting boring sideways.....Anything coming up to shake the market ?

If the market experiences a high level of volatility, people complain. If the market remains relatively stable, people complain. How can the market ever satisfy people like you? Bitcoin has already gone through a rollercoaster, so right now people (you're not included) are happy with a calm market. If you're so addicted to volatility, then head over to the altcoin market. If you we're somewhat of a decent trader, you would have taken advantage of the recent volatility, and thus wouldn't complain right now. Wink

Because pump-and-dumpers are *totally going to announce their intentions in public, in advance, so that everyone knows about them ?

Well if everyone knew when market shakes are coming it isn't gonna shake it anymore. Besides, inside info is always gold, nobody's gonna share that in public.

You just need to keep your head on the altcoin announcements subforum, every 1 out of 1000 coins released are devs in for a quick pump and dump, especially the scrypt coins claiing that their coin is "innovative"rofl
Soon we will suffer a total overdose of any form of new altcoins. We can alredy see that ICO frequency is lowered significantly.
People are tired of the same bullshit served all over again.

Have you guys thought about next halving in 2020 yet? Bitcoin price will be probably around 10k by that time.

why do people in this topic keep repeating bitcoin pump and dump?! don't anyone know what pump and dump means anymore?
here, read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pump_and_dump

bitcoin is not pump and dump, you are comparing it to altcoin market without looking at the whole picture. if it was, then price would have gone to hell by now, instead of still rising after 8 years.

When the market shakes we're the one to suffer. But right now it is making a stabilized growth, on this too we're complaining. One who profit will be profiting even now with the small variations that's taking place respect to time period with minimized profit margins.

This might worry the day traders, but not the long-term traders.
The trend seems to be upward (albeit slow). Enjoy the slow increase in value.  Smiley

Accumulate. Accumulate? Accumulate!

I think it's been said three times, as an alternative to playing the wait for pump-and-dump game. That's fair. But what rate of accumulation do you all have? How much do we have and how quickly are we getting it?
