I heard that during that last dip of bitcoin ( 7k$ ) and other alts, many bitcoin investor lost so much because of panic selling thinking that they should cut their losses. Some wants to start over again with the money they got but I heard that some became really depressed and are now emotionally unstable. ( Not all ).

Any suggestion/good tips for them? Also, what we should do to handle these kinds of situations?
I am not currently an investor but I am looking to put some amount for bitcoin and hold it.
My advice is to be patient. In the past month, when bitcoin and other altcoins broke down, many people panicked and sold the COINS they held. When bitcoin starts to recover, they buy again, which is not right, and frequent trading can cause you to lose more.

well it depends on why they sold and when they sold. selling and losing money is not always bad. you may be selling because of stop loss to prevent an even bigger loss and then buy back at the bottom to get your initial amount back and also cover the loss and finally make your profit back.

if they did that they they did good! but if they didn't they have to start doing that to become more successful in their investment journey.

Lowest EVER interest lending! (Use escrow always)
Panic selling and panic buying is the worst thing in crypto, and it almost always ends up in a loss loss situation. Never ever sell coins in dump, wait for the price pumping and then sell if needed.

I panic sold a chunk at 12k and rebought at 6k... it's not always unwise to sell in a dump as long as you stick to your plan and observe macro trends.

The truth is we can't stop some people from panic selling because there are lots of people who are buying cryptocurrency without knowing how it really works and when they see a bad/fake news about it they will rush and sell it as soon as possible which will result of huge drop in value of the market. My suggestion if this happen is, it depends on the cryptocurrency that you have invested, if you bought a pump and dump coin better to sell it right away because you will never know if this coin will even recover again. If you invested in Bitcoin and if you have a lot of time to watch the price, it is better to cut your loss and use that money to buy when the price reaches the deepest that it can drop, but if you're a busy person and don't have much time to watch your investment then just hold it, because Bitcoin will surely recover.

Firstly they must learn to take lessons from mistakes they make in life. Otherwise they will continue to lose. It is useful to be calm in such declines.

Know first if what are you entering, not just because other people tell you that in bitcoin you can make money. In crypto currency, there are time for a pump and also there is time for dump, so this is what they called it correction in value. For those investor who lost so much, do not make a mistake again by panic selling if you want to recover from lost.

Where is my ring of blades...
like any failure in life it is not the end of the world as long as you learn something from that experience. if someone who made a mistake (like in this case selling out of panic and falling for FUD) repeats it then they are idiots. but if they learn from that mistake and move on with a precious experience then soon they will become successful. in fact I say that is the difference between successful people and the rest who envy them. otherwise everybody makes mistakes like that an losing money is part of the deal. what matters is that how you deal with it.

Rule #1: Invest only the amount you can afford to lose. Remember this so that you will not become "emotionally unstable" (I still believe that that's absurd Tongue)
Rule #2: This is Bitcoin. Just buy, hold, repeat. You do not know Bitcoin if you fall for FUDs and panic selling. Hodlers always win!
Rule #3: HODL and STFU!

Edit:
If all doesn't end well, move on and stfu as well Tongue Roll Eyes

As you get experience in cryptocurrency and specially with the volatility of bitcoin, you will have some tolerance when the price drops. You won't get depressed or panic easily when you see the price drops 20, 40 percent. Most of those who got depressed are newbies who entered bitcoin at its peak. You can't blame them, they got caught in the hype. They can start over again, there are lots of opportunity to earn in bitcoin and you can always earn back your loss.

The only tip i can give is have patience and never put many positions on a single price. That what many people fail doing these stuff and get in to losses. The best thing is to have only one position at a single price and then if the market drops again more than 20-30% , again start placing position to minimise the losses and get the averaging policy in force.Thats how many big investors protect their capital and avoid losses. The only small traders loose their money who lack patience levels and also lack some risk taking habit as until n unless risk is not taken money is not made in this market.

First of all in this environment we all know that it has a combination of risk and success. While joining here people  must be brave and very smart. We need to put in our mind that we need to be aware and ready to anything that will happen even it become positive or negative.  I advice that  people need to be much alert and careful before making decisions. Don't panic because as long as we feel that it sure that we make a wrong choice. Just be relax and think smartly and wisely therefore we can make a positive or good choice. Just wait for the right track, just believe and have faith that it will come. Remember bitcoin is like a rollercoaster that has ups and down but in the end there is unbelievable and unexpectable higher rage awaited...

The only suggestion is to stop "investing".
If you can't control your emotions and you panic sell or buy it's clear you're not made for trading or investing.
Not everybody is and not everybody should do it.

So unless you plan on hodling and investing only what you can afford to lose without losing your mind, don't do it.

These situations are happening in every year January to February. So close the all cryptocurrency sites for two months then go to tour for 2 months. It makes huge profits for your investment. This is the easiest way to protect our money so no one should panic in these kind of situation. After two months automatically crypto market is normal I believe this is the best idea.

Last time the drop continued through March till next January and next January.....
Just saying...

Hodl is a motto for a reason.
I think you should not hold altcoin. If you do not have a lot of money and do not have enough patience, you should not do it. This is really a job that requires patience and deep knowledge of the crypto market. I think you should wait for the price of altcoin down to buy. If it's high then you will sell it and it will be profitable. After all, you can get cash to invest in another altcoin.

First off, what caused them to lose their profit? Panic selling. So, how do you fix this problem? Simply DON'T PANIC SELL. This is an investment. Don't expect the charts to go up and up forever, that's just stupid. Take in to consideration the risks of investing in a volatile market. Like it or not, the prices can crash down to 3 digits whether we like it or not. Don't be like those idiots that put all their live savings on crypto.
