This recent boost in Bitcoin is a pretty big deal, but I'm kind of worried because it happened so fast. A lot of people were saying 20k by the end of 2018, but it almost hit it this year just a couple days ago. It is weird thinking that just 3 weeks ago bitcoin was at $7000ish. This massive boom recently makes me worry that the market is being manipulated. Hopefully it is just demand and not manipulation. I just want bitcoin to remain healthy.
Ordinary people became attracted to bitcoin due to social media and television since the $8000 ATH... now, these people doesn't know about altcoins yet so expect a huge correction next year once these noobs become interested in ETH, ETC, LTC and more... My suggestion is to buy as many altcoins as you can, NOW.

as the old focker said - be greedy when others are fearful but be fearful when OTHERS ARE BUYING BITCOINS GREEDILY! ha ha! CAVEAT.

It's really not far to happen or should I say that it's really happening now. It's quite saddening that it can really manipulate by the big whales the pumps and dumps that we're experiencing and we are just the riders of all of these and we can't do anything about it.
When bitcoin accelerated too fast recently everyone are like going crazy and don't know what to do, some are happy and yeah some are thinking if it's just a bubble than can burst out any time. But whatever the reason behind this, one thing is certain that we're all take profit.

Isn't a correction already happening now? Btc price was $18k 2 days ago and now it's barely $15k. Well, I'm quite a newbie, so would appreciate others' inputs...

Yes, it's started to cool off a bit, which is a lot better than crashing.

There will definitely be some corrections here and there but i don't expect it to go even below 15k$, and so i will urge all to keep faith and be settled over it without harboring any fear or panic because bitcoin is definitely going places.

The crazy hockey-stick like chart made me nervous, but it's started to correct a little now and follow the trend a bit more.

I still think the price, FOMO and hype needs to calm down a bit though, I'd be happy to see BTC fall back to 10-12k and take a nap for a while.

It's just markets being markets. During the 2013 bull cycles we saw supply dry up on the exchanges in a similar fashion. Lack of supply combined with mainstream media hype and a solid 2-year bull market? That's enough reason for a parabolic rally! The general theory with blow-off tops is "the higher it goes, the harder it will fall."

I am very affraid of it too., that is why i'm not buing BTC now, and wait for some correction

I Actually feel like this is the right place for cryptocurrency to go especially bitcoin. It goes to hard forks and to very low lows. However once it goes up it reaches new peaks and every year it kight just get stronger a slong as it stays afloat in all of this mess

With such an exciting and new technology like bitcoin and blockchain are, you can never tell when the price will stop rising. We will probably get a correction, but what if that correction will be from something like $30k to $20k? Or just any other 2 arbitrary numbers that are much higher than what we are seeing today...

It just the time for bitcoin, for few years bitcoin struggle to raise even $1000 takes months but for now, it just a few hours to increase as much $1000, that's why most people feel unsettled. At current market situation, more demand comes into cryptocurrency as the media always reports crypto development all this time, every day. Since bitcoin rise over $10K, financial institutions such as CME trading group started to glance to bitcoin and don't want to miss the chance to be involved as the early investors in the crypto market.

So true, for the last several decades we've been living in a digital world. Everything around us gets digital, relationship, job, money. The digital (crypto) revolution was doomed to happen. Some may not accept that, some have been living in it. We, guys, are on the cusp of the crypto revolution.

If that happens now, it will surely cripple bitcoin. Nobody will want that, especially that bitcoin is going mainstream....

invest trade and gamble wisely
...snip...
You can see all the altcoins price are dumped when the bitcoin price increased. So the price will dump or crash after the fork.

I don't think this is in correlation. Altcoins price in USDs remained more or less same. The price dump is result of rising BTC price (in USDs)

Been reading some people here that keeps on saying that they are worried with the quick price movement of bitcoin. There's nothing to worry about it, you just need to go with the flow. $20,000 can happen any time from now on but most of us says that it can be seen on 2018. I don't find there's a manipulation but if there are group of whales that are altogether sells their bitcoin at the same time there might be or still there's none.

The fact that bitkoyn so abruptly went up to 17 000 dollars in its price does contain a lot of negativity. For such a sharp growth will necessarily follow and its fall, because there are no objective grounds for such a large and rapid growth in bitcoin. Such instability of the exchange will negatively affect the image of bitcoins, as banks and government bodies do not want to deal with such an unstable currency. In addition, many raise in connection with such a rise in the bitcoins rate the question that it is being pumped artificially, only through an agiotage speculative demand for it, that is, it is compared to a financial bubble.

Yes,it made me feel like that the price just double in couple of weeks so it looks like the sign of price crash soon. But the price is not manipulated it is due to the huge demand for bitcoin due to the upcoming fork many altcoins holders are selling their coins to buy bitcoin because they will get free coins from the fork. You can see all the altcoins price are dumped when the bitcoin price increased. So the price will dump or crash after the fork.

It seems to me that many institutional investors have simply ceased to be afraid of bitcoin, after the decision to make the futures in exchange, and are bought in large quantities. This is not manipulation of the market and the natural demand.

Hi there TheGodson! I’m also struck the moment the price become rouge, one of a sudden it goes up to almost 20k and suddenly it goes down and little by little it start to come back to 15k then another drop at 14k. I just recently add possession at 15k before it goes up and hold it thinking it could go beyond 20k, but I feel pessimist at the moment. But I think because the recent Thanksgiving massive new investors starting to ride which boost the crypto currency market and drive the price up and not by anyone who manipulated it.  Wink
