I am planning to use the mining rig to keep my apartment warm in the winter. It should be enough to just take the edge off the cold and it will save on gas.

Hate the cold. Always difficult to wake up when the house is cold and dark in the morning. Also, husband will very likely get jealous when he catches me snuggling up to my mining rig in bed for warmth. Not looking forward to that conversation...

44 °F
(7 °C) Outside atm, got a small window fan blowing chilly air inside. Kinda shivering in the room. But feels great compared to 100f.

I hate the cold, but I don't think my 2Ghash will be enough to warm the whole house.  I am going to be quite disappointed if I have to run the heater.

I have an unused dryer vent in an unused laundry room. I am thinking of using the cool / cold air and vent inside during the winter. Think I will use a metal exterior vent of some sort, like the one below, to keep out the things looking for the warmth of gpus on cold winter nights!  Tongue

It's 90 degree's in my "mining room" with a/c full blast. It's not a pleasant experience :/

You are doing it wrong. It's FAR more efficient to vent the hot air than try to cool it. If you can't throw it out in a garage, or into the basement then buy a 4x8 sheet of insulation, roll of ductape, a cheap roll of screen door mesh and a box fan.

Plop the PC infront of the window, insulate around it, mesh the window off and the front of the "rectangle insulation case" and throw the box fan infront of it. Ductape the holes and call it a day.

It's far cheaper to run a box fan than the AC.

Dude, that's an insane temperature drop!

Gotta love that Canadian air cold front.

I wish some of that cold front would extend down to Ohio :p

Bahha, I bet you're getting what is coming from the gulf, which in return is zeroing out that cold front from hitting you. Right at the edge though.

Edit:
Yup.
