At the moment, no. You could suggest it but I don't see it working. It's most likely to be abused like said above. It was the same reason as to why avatars are removed. It should be back with the new forum software.
Well it could be abused only as sql injection, and it could be fixed quite easily.
Other than that, you would see images all over the place. It can be quite annoying and contributes nothing to the discussion. I however, agree that it should be taken back as theymos can just set a option to disable them.
Images would suck but that bot would be interesting to see.

what about bitcointalk put the price in the forum directly, that change in real time, would be cool
That would be, and it isn't so hard to code.

Just program a bot to change your signature every second/minute/hour.

I think the bot method is the only way to insert a price ticker in the sig. No linked images or code are allowed in the signature.

Just to show off to others, I like it. Besides, you don't have to buy a server for this, there many free alternatives which you could use.
Might program it myself Smiley

Shoot me a PM if you're actually able to achieve this, I don't think it'd be that easy but would love to see a working ticker in sig.

No, you can't put a price in your signature. Roll Eyes

Of course you can.
Just program a bot to change your signature every second/minute/hour.

Sure but what's the use of buying a server for this sort of things, anyone could just go to a online ticker, problem solved and no time is wasted for coding the bot.

Be sure to provide us the link after that, i'd like to see it how it works.

That would be pretty cool, but putting code in your signature can be easily abused. Once, someone snuck code into his avatar that shut down the forum.  (That's why we don't have avatars) but the price ticker would be a good idea.

It is as you said. Idea is good. We can make it work. But then this plan is only good if people are good. And people are usually bad, angry and awful. So in reality it won't work.

You don't need to buy a server for that. Even your PC which stays connected to the net could be used to implement this.

Unless you use a bot or referencing a link(which would not work), I dont see any other possible way to achieve the same.

I think you can't put programming stuff in your signature because it might be abused.

But might be possible with a bot, like the posting bots we see. But no idea about how to implement it.

That updates every few seconds or everytime someone refreshes the page would be cool if I could post on this forum and could see the price on one page and it would look regardless.
You could use the Bitcointalk++ script put out by jackjack about a year ago.  Won't work for placing price in your signature but will put a price option in your BTCTalk client.

Hope this helps Smiley
