You cannot kill love
Last evening I reported a malware link, and the moderators quickly deleted it.

I was stupid, and wanted to verify it was malware, so I ran it, thinking my anti-virus would protect me.  Nothing happened.

Not knowing I was infected, I went to bed.

I woke up last night with my two monitors on (not in power save mode).  This happens every now and then, so I rolled over and went back to sleep.  Turns out it was a hacker using my computer by remote control.  Since I was logged into Bitcointalk, they were able to make posts as myself.

They also withdrew coins out of my hot wallet.  Sad

I apologize to anyone who clicked on any of the malware links that were posted last night.  Like someone posted, you should never trust a link from any member - even a Legendary one.

I actually find that hilarious to why he left .89 in the wallet xD. If I were robbing a bank and I had tons of extra space in my pockets and bag, why not take some extra? Haha you are one lucky guy to not have that .89 stolen.

I saw one of the threads yesterday posted in the wrong section and thought it was a bit strange, but I assumed you were drunk hehe. I guess this is a good example of why not to ever click on links posted from newbs and exercise caution even when they're posted from people like you.

Badbear has moved them to Archives for a few hours.

The mods worked so quickly and the community responded so fast he/was was limited to two threads and a few random post edits, which have been repaired by Badbear.  Smiley

I have removed all malware links.

They're in the trashcan. One of the malware links is still visible but obviously it'll do no harm there.

Did you not have a password on? You should post the address it went to. Maybe we can trace or track the user.

I did have a very strong password on it.  But I hadn't sent bicoins in at least a week.  The password was the same as my Password Manager (LastPass).   Embarrassed  and I type that in on a regular basis, but I didn't take into account keyloggers.  Sad

I need to download the blockchain and make a new hot wallet.  Then I will post the address and transaction info.  It was around 4:14am last night, Mountain Standard Time, for exactly 2 bitcoins.

Ah. I'd advise having a unique password for your actual coins. Are you on windows? If so, go Linux  Cheesy.

I did not notice unusual activity from your profile. I probably missed it all. What did hacker post?

Just more malware links:

Today a researcher from Japan found almost all the lost Bitcoins from MTGOX, I hope thats true..I want my Bitcoins back!

Only managed a few posts though.

how much BTC did they got from you?

That's the VERY odd thing...

I had 2.89btc in my hot wallet.

They withdrew 2... leaving 0.89, or about $360.

It's not like they were rushed or anything seeing they posted links here.

So the question that will forever haunt me is why did they leave bitcoin behind.

Let this be a lesson to any noobs who think they can leave Bitcoin just floating around on the net even the experienced members lose it from time to time, np Vod I thought you were posting in quite broken English Cheesy

This is actually pretty bad that you didn't even get to see what they posted Sad
