Phones are something that we do loose walking into the streets, i wouldnt use apple pay because of that, the risk to loose the phone is huge, for other side bitcoin i just use it into the computer and its stored online, the wallet id as well the permission to access my account, i do like bitcoin even with have to wait some minutes to transaction be confirmed.

If you at some point want to pay for your daily needs with Bitcoin in your local store (assuming they accept Bitcoin payments), then you have to take your phone with you as well. And nowadays people don't walk outside without having their smartphone in their pocket. In that aspect this isn't an issue at all.

I personally think that while Bitcoin doesn't have as many merchants that accept it and it takes a little longer, it is far better than Apple Pay. Apple Pay is just Apply trying to involve itself more when it comes to other people's finances and so, and it is another money-making scheme which can effectively just hand over more control to Apple.

I don't own anything Apple, never have never will, because they want to control everything, so paying using an Apple thing is just asking for less freedom even.

Google is not different from apple. They are both shit and evil.

I owned both android xperia and iphone and i enjoyed both. (tbh, i liked iphone more) One thing disturbed me with android phones is that they are fliling their phones with so many useless bloatwares and it really fucks up your device. (i know you can install cyanomod or smth but i don't have time for this)

Apple doesn't do that. Because google is a fucking adcompany. It was a search engine in the beginning but lately they turned out into an ad-company. You think apple collects data about every step you do and google does not? Both do that.

And, apple. They were fucking selling 16gb phones until this september. That's fucking evil. I purchased a 64gb 6s 2 months before the Iphone7 promo, and they came with 32gb versions as a starter pack. Fucking shits.

TLDR; Apple=Google=Horseshit

Of course Google stores what you do on the web, but that has nothing to do with Android.

At least with an android phone you can install whatever you want, not just what Apple allows.

When you go into a store and want to buy goods. You can either wave your apple watch og iphone at a terminal at the register. It will take you around - 3 seconds.

Or you can pull out your smartphone. Log into your wallet. Scan someones 2D bitcoin code. Send them some bitcoins, wait for the transaction to be verified, and then take your goods and go.. total time 10mins +

Can someone tell me how bitcoins will ever stand a chance?
First of all i used bitcoin for transaction and it took a few seconds, used 3rd party btw you dont need to wait for the transaction to be verified and it converted to fiat automaticaly so you dont need to worry about the volatile nature of the bitcoin, however i never use aplepay before but i think bitcoin still the best as a payment method, like people mentioned above.

what's the point comparing them? neither of them are an attractive option to someone coming fresh to it. you either gotta buy an apple or some bitcoin.
Agreed. for a common and middle class person both are expensive and difficult to use.. and for a person who is in bitcoin like me then bitcoin is obviously is the best choice.
I like bitcoin because I have bitcoin and don't have apple.

Fuck apple pay.

I don't give them no pennies.

I use iphone btw, they make good phones and i love them but i don't blindly trust them. That's not just about trust. Applepay is like steam money, nothing special.

Bitcoin is revolution.

Why would you even tell Bitcoin users that Apple Pay is better than Bitcoin. This is like going inside McDonald's and talking to a regular customer that the relatively new restaurant in the corner is better. Bitcoin ensures security that's why it takes some time before you can get ready to send your money. Without even doing research, I'm pretty sure that Apple Pay is just the same as Paypal with the same set of rules and concepts.

Apple Pay

Bitcoin

That's truly the best way to explain it... Cheesy PainPal, FruitPay and their peers are just for shifting the good old fiat trash around. So familiarity and convenience of usage is only one side of the medal. And Bitcoin is constantly improving in usability and acceptance, too.

The main advantage of Bitcoin is that it is a sound decentralized currency that can serve as a store as value. Transactions can't be simply blocked to please the governmental surveillance freaks and you remain in full charge of your funds. No fiat solution can compete with the hybrid nature of Bitcoin being both a currency and a payment system.

I am not trying to bash bitcoins and hype apple pay. I would love if I could pay with bitcoins everywhere! Unfortuantly i can't, because stores obviosuly haven't seen the light yet.

We all have smart phones. I dont choose apple because it's overpriced or pretty. I choose it only because I hate the lag that is on android phones. Even my latets android adventure (Samsung S7) has ended because of lag. Not a lot of lag like the Nexus 5X, but enough to notice. I'm back to iphone 7 with no lag.

Bitcoin will still have a chance cause Apple pay is limited to work only in most western countries. It isn't even available in developing states and most parts of middle east and asia. Also, if you own an Apple iPhone it has a build in NFC that only works for Apple Pay POS. Here is where Bitcoin is a game changer as now Bitcoin reflliable debit cards are available on the go. You can easily get one on wirex (virtual and plastic cards) and load those cards using Bitcoins and spend them on any terminal that supports master card or visa.

It will also take 3 seconds for somebody to take all of your balance. You're not even required to log in? Really? If that is so then somebody can just open your Apple watch or iPhone and transfer all of your balance into his while you're not looking or while you're asleep. 3 seconds is such an hyperbole. Are you the Flash? How could you take your phone out of your pocket, unlock your phone, open Apple Pay in three seconds?

10 mins is such a long time for those actions. I'd say it would only take a minute or two to finish sending Bitcoins especially if the Bitcoin wallet that you're using has a transaction fee. That means your transaction will have a higher priority than those that doesn't have a tx fee.

To be honest, I think this thread is just OP's way to promote Apple Pay.

I am personally not an Apple fan and I don't really use Apple product. To add on, I have been with the Bitcoin community for a year now and why would I want to switch over to Apple Pay? No reason for me to switch to Apple Pay. I'd say Bitcoin is far more transparent and secure as compared to Apple Pay technology.

The problem with apple pay is that to use it you must buy an overpriced product from an untrustworthy company run by a queer. Edward Snowden never had an iphone. Having one is like having an NSA agent in your pocket.
