what do you think? is it normal for kids to be at billiards places now or should they not be allowed there?

Why not. I have two kids boys in fact, 6 and 8 years old and bought them 36 inch  wooden-made mini pool table set, Both of them are happy and play a few rounds literally every day. Even I  myself  play with them sometimes. When I took them  with me to show professional playing at billiard pool their delight was without any limit. Thus I think we should treat kids billiard interest with respect.

Exactly that, why not? It's billiard, why do people connect every game with gambling... Even better if your kid has an interest in billiard, it's one of the cool games, and those who start from an early age can master the game. Of course, if they practice regularly & and have someone to teach them a few tricks.

Kids are not aliens... we need to treat them with respect. My kids are younger, they are still small and I haven't taken them to billiards, but when they grow a little, I will for sure. What I want to say is that every parent has opportunities and decides for themselves when it's time to introduce their child to something... and as they grow, there are more and more new things, and it's better for us to show them the right way than for them to learn from someone else or to learn it the wrong way.

recently i went into a billiards place and noticed that the kids of the owners were there playing in a table as well this got me thinking whether this is an appropriate environment for these kids to be at

i am talking 5-7 years olds both boys already holding billiards cue there’s this association between gambling and billiards because usually the players bet and whoever wins the game wins the bet as well so the kids might be hearing these conversations about betting

Kids will still grow up to become men, while the girl child will grow up to become a woman, I see nothing wrong with children being around places where such game as you mentioned, or maybe other games as well like table tenis and so, are being played, the talk about player of this games participating in gambling is a different talk.

I believe that any time this game is being played by mature and serious people where betting is involved, this kids won't be allowed in there because they will cause distraction.

But when the table is free with no serious game ongoing, there is absolutely nothing wrong with children hanging around there and even trying the game themselves.

By the way, punctuations are very necessary in long sentence, it helps the reader understand correctly the message being passed, learn to use it where it is required in your future posts.

If the place doesn’t include gambling and people just play for fun then, Yes. But if it’s a place people gamble then I wouldn’t advice them to be seen there since they’ll most likely pick up the gambling habit from the place so it’s not okay to allow kids to play there.
at that age, even if the gamblers around that environment are doing it for fun or not, i doubt that a five-year-old kid will understand what it means to gamble for fun, pleasure or for money. kids learn too fast by observation of patterns, and it doesn't take long before they try to recreate it with things around them and that builds the foundation to what might end up becoming uncontrollable in the long run.

as a father or a parent, there are environment and things you should never expose your children to even if you are working in such an environment. a lot of the children that are Beggers on the street only monitored their parents carrying them to beg and learned that act from that moment. even if the parents did not directly educate them on how to do such things, their inquisitive ability teaches them far more than you have told them yourself.

There are some games that have existed before people turn it to gambling or before kids will grow up to know that people can actually gamble with it. I have been playing dice since I was a kind because it is a very common game in my country among families and friends. I only knew that people can gamble with dice when I was in school. I mean to gamble with it among friends and people generally. I was older than 24 years old before I saw dice on a gambling site.
Most of us played games like dice as kids before we knew that it was a gambling game, we called it 'try your luck' ludo and whot games were also common then, we played the games for fun. It's ok to allow kids to play games that are not harmful to them, they will learn and have fun. Where there's a problem will be if kids are playing games in the midst of adults that are playing the same game and gambling on it. It won't be a good influence on them because they might want to practice what they see buy using money to gamble with one another at their early age. The conclusion for me is that inasmuch as kids are not playing billiard or any other games in a gambling environment that means that it's safe for them to do so.

Gambling can be found almost anywhere these days. People can be at a restaurant and bet on a game that might be on 1 of the television sets in the restaurant, pool halls, even just at a friend's house. All of these places are likely to have children around. Its just about educating your kids and not letting the streets educate them IMO.

Teach the youth, don't try to keep them in a corner and act like something just doesn't exist.

Many gambling games where just games until people turned it into something you do for the reward. When I was little some one of my neighbour would always show unseriousness when we are playing a card game called WHOT. Then when he is cautioned for not taking the game seriously, he would tell us that if we want him to take it seriously, we should put some wager. Usually, the wager would be small but something that motivates him to take it seriously. At the end of the day he'll win. And just like you, it wasn't until recently that this card game was digitalized and a wager is place or people play for monetary rewards.

Playing billiards as a kid isn't inherently wrong, but the environment and the people who gamble excessively can have a negative influence on the child.Negative influences on kids often start with their environment and the things they hear,so it's essential to keep a close eye on them.I once played Ludo with my little nephew, and he surprised me by saying the game was going to be a bet. When I asked him who had taught him to think that way, he told me it was his friend. This shows that even at a young age, peers can influence kids to develop a gambling mindset. If you own a billiard venue, you can establish a no-gambling rule to protect those kids who also go there to have fun,as the environment can be a contributing factor.

On a contrary, I believe that early exposure of kids to some of the most addictive ills in the society like gambling as well as other activities that are considered bad for reputation, can help them get to learn to avoid scenarios that will make them addicted or rely heavily on these activities to survive on a daily.
Those kids that get covered by the parents always, don't get much exposure to such things as what gambling or billiards is, may tend to find it so much more pleasurable to indulge in during their adult years, thus leading to more cases of addictions and irresponsibility among older folks.

A controlled environment under parental supervision or a guardian who is responsible enough, in any environment at all, can help reinforce good behaviors that will help the kids navigate adulthood better.

Some poor third world countries citizens have no regulatory compliance because of the level of corruption and poverty within the society so individuals do and act in a lawless way and do anything to make money there is underage engagement in so many adult tasks and activities, as long as the kid can fight to survival the ugly environment the parent careless, but in at that we can never fail to condemn any child abuse in any form, so in my stand I kick against child involvement in gambling activities be it as the CEO or just an agent, and not only gambling alone but every other activities that have age clues to it should be kept away from children.

It's a sport, not specifically for gambling so if a kid should be participating in any sports activities as early as possible then the situation here is same too. Probably the environment like it's usually inside a bar these bets happens so irrespective of game, a kid inside a bar is not the appropriate and the parent is showing the sign of ignorance towards their responsibility if it happens.

If this billiards place is where gamblers keep going, then I shouldn’t recommend this kind of place for young ages. Simply because, they will be exposed to gambling earlier, and would think thereafter that gambling is an easy way to make money.

However, if this is just made for pure leisure and recreation, I don’t see any problem with that. There are a lot of kids who want to learn billiard and develop their skills later on. In fact, this could be a great help for them so they can be more sports minded rather than spending most of their time on their android phones and play.

Already we knows the implications that surround kids going around gambling environments or involve showing themselves around their casinos as their parents owns it. I think there has been lots of discussion about children around casinos and how they shouldn't be allowed to move round within the environment where they are gambling, and yes, it's something unavoidable because we know kids knows lot of things and even though we decides to hide things from them we can't stop from doing it when they have their own space or even when they aren't within our noticed they can still get involved.

Billiards is just a sport and there is nothing criminal about the fact that there are children there, I have seen fathers with children there several times and I did not even have the thought that this could be a bad example for them. Billiard rooms are different, there are those where they drink alcohol, smoke and place bets, and there are those where families come. In this case, everything depends only on the parents and where they bring their children.

They can play billiards in that place. They will not trying to gambling who will be the winner unless they have that intention before they go to in that place. We even don't know what their reason to play billiards and we may think that they have the same intention like adult people who want to spends their free time. But I guess that is not usual if those young boys play billiards because most young boys will do other things with their friends. You can watch them play to know what they talks so you will know what is their reason to play billiards with their friends.

For me I don't see anything wrong if they are playing billiards game. If they are playing it for fun then there is no problem, but it becomes a problem when they start betting with it. Although there is a high chance of getting used to playing billiards for money i.e (betting) because playing such game in billiards place where guys often gamble with it may trigger them to follow suit. Except they have self control or being monitored by there parents, otherwise they might pretend not to gamble with it in front of their father, and bet when their father is not around or they might learn it and gamble with it outside.

Hmm, it's just billiards, I think it's fine? Billiards itself is an interesting activity anyway and tying it down with gambling is personally a, well, personal decision, not really a "natural" type of thing, unlike poker and dice which is almost always 100% associated with gambling. And who knows? The kids may have some skill for billiards. While it is a niche sport, there are highlights sometimes that get revealed to the world that just make people go wtf most of the time, like the magician for example.

Even here in my country this game is really popular and I guess its the management or the owner will be accountable with this part because they are the one who must check with their clients, there are really stubborn kids really want to disobey the rules of their players could be peer pressure or base on themselves so they would like to explore but as long as they aren't addicted in playing billiards with bet I guess personally they still can freely play, still this is we considered as a sports so nothing wrong but still must need to consider the age limit by the owner. As for their safety too in that age they must be still in school.

I don`t see problem here. Billiard is a wonderful game and it would be nice if the kids will play good. The same time, i don`t think that they play with the bets. And as i know about my city - just few percent play for money, the main part play for free or with some symbolic bet - $1-2, just for interest.
PS. When i was a kid, we played football with bets but i don`t think that we must prohibit football. Also, i can`t name even one our player, who became gambling addict.

It's a sport, don't think about the betting side of it yet.

I just bought my kids a mini billiard table and I never heard them bet about anything. Now, if they playing against the owner, it's up to that person if he is evil enough to bet against the kids. Now, if he just wants them to play and enjoy billiards then there's no problem at all.
Again, let's not forget this is a good sport and it can be played indoor. I bought it so that my kids would avoid using their phones because it's like 24/7 their eyes are glued into it.
I am a traditional father, I want them to feel the competitive spirit of sports.
