I have $30-$40k invested in hardware to generate bitcoin. But at the prices I pay for my hardware, it's very low risk. I can resell it all for about what I paid.

Plus NMC is free, and I figured I might as well Mine SC with my CPU's.

I earn only $50k a year from my job, and $40 a day from mining.

bitcoin is a very risky investment. buying 10k now could have you broke next week. The long term potential of bitcoin value is not certain by any means. Supply & Demand, as it is now there will be more supply than demand = lower bitcoin values.

I imagine the only people with large investments are early adopters.

I wouldn't consider joining mid May as "early adopted" but I did put in more than $10k

I imagine the only people with large investments are early adopters. As time goes on, I imagine that might change.

Wowza! 10 grand. I'm not sure if I would do that even if I had a surplus of money. Too risky, IMO.

How do you invest in bitcoin? Is there any list of authorities we can buy from?

Wrong thread but since I need posts, use mtgox.com or tradehill.com.

The revolution will be monetized!
Why anyone hasn't gotten out of Bitcoins at this point is beyond me.

Dude, you registered 6 days ago. Why then did you just come in to bitcoin?

Hahahaha no.

Rich people didn't get that way by recklessly spending their money.

Democracy is the original 51% attack
Why anyone hasn't gotten out of Bitcoins at this point is beyond me.

Because some of us understand things better than others. Some of us didn't get involved to make money overnight, but to build a revolutionary monetary system.

Sorry if the price volatility over the past few months has scared you. This is not for children.

Why? Because this is the only "stock" that ive seen blow up from under a dollar to 32 dollars per coin almost overnight compared to real stocks, Show me one legitimate stock that blew up 32X its value like that, even just the chance of that happening again is more than enough to gamble some change on it,

Some were lucky enough to have 100K invested on the .99 cent bitcoin before it blew up to 32 dollars, do the math.

Its all a gamble and some people spend that much amount are not rich but have faith in bitcoins.  Some people put their entire savings into bitcoins hoping it will be worth a shot.  Just like gold, no one knew the price would go up as high as today and people that bought their gold back in the 80s will be making good amount of money in the present day by either selling them or keeping them to see if the price goes higher or not.

Some could also belong to the people that made the wallet.dat viruses or used botnets for distributed mining.
