Better to spend it on your own than trusting it to anyone especially here which is full of scammers. Also there's no assurance that they will give profit. Cryptocurrency market is very volatile as you can see. These so called portfolio managers or even cryptocurrency analysts can't predict it. So a piece of advice, don't trust any person with your money.

If you cannot handle your money and funds yourself, why would anyone else handle them with honesty.
Its better to develop enough skill in yourself to handle your money yourself.

Just hold some cryptocurrencies and sell them for higher price. That's called trading. It's better to play it yourself.

This is not trading and trading is not so simple. I have seen many people holding crypto and crying because their coins are dumping and their worth has become less. Even holding crypto especially the altcoins can be risky sometimes.

Not sure if thats what i look for.

I'm basically looking for anyone if anyone is doing a portfolio management on cryptocurrencies. Similar to 'managed' accounts and collect a fee based on the profit they make from our portfolio.
So you are basically finding a person who would handle your entire porfolio and make it big by doing trading or any other terms? If thats the thing what you mean then i would say dont entrust people who would offer you such thing. Im not familiar on possible legit candidates regarding on this task or job since people dont easily trust when it comes to portfolio management.

This does not happen here and if anyone contacts you privately after seeing your post, just be cautious.
Although Portfolio management is a decent service but many people scam in the name of this. If you ever want to give control to anyone to do trades on your behalf, never give him the full ownership of your account. So can give him the API through which they can only manage your funds but cannot withdraw without your permission.

Ah. That makes a lot of sense actually.

I think the industry is a bit too new for any fund managers to emerge with a decent reputation, and it's also pretty hard to profit off crypto due so many variables in many coins, and it's not mature enough that established traders have found their way in.

I know it's a bit of an old post, but 10 months in and there are still no fund managers that I've heard of, with good reputation.

Have you looked at investing in venture funds that predominantly work in crypto? You can google them and find a list of over 20 venture funds, and most of them are always looking for more capital.

Are you looking to invest with a fund manager? Or is this your research for a service in the space?

I am not looking to invest. I know that's risky. But, by this time i felt there should be fund managers arrived for managing the accounts who really cant able to do it by themselves and when i searched, found none. That's what just checking if there any such services available or yet to come or wont come at all.

I agree with you. As the overall sphere of crypto develops more, I am sure such services will be built too.

I just wanted to know, if there any reliable crypto fund/portfolio managers available in the market.. This is just to know if there any such services available..
Yes we have if you look farther but don't be surprised at what you will find because if the meaning of portfolio managers mean the same thing as what we have in the fiat world then there is high chance that you will fall in the hands of scammers and the reasons is simple because there is no basis or deposit capital or registration of any sort for one to be sure that they are not leaving soon, and be cause people wont be interested if they promise low percentage, they promise high which they won't be able to meet which is a signal for scammers.

There is now also a cryptocurrency token fund made up of investments in hedge funds:

https://www.investmentweek.co.uk/investment-week/news/3023496/cryptocurrency-fund-of-hedge-funds-launched-on-back-of-soaring-valuations

Quote
The APEX Token fund, the first tokenised crypto-focused fund of funds, allows investors access to a diverse portfolio of assets managed by a selection of cryptocurrency hedge funds.
It is primarily targeting retail investors and those already familiar with investing in cryptocurrencies, who want more diversified exposure to this asset class.
By investing in a basket of five to 15 hedge funds, each employing uncorrelated investment strategies, the group said the fund mitigates the volatility risk which comes from investing in a single asset class, while maximising returns in the rapidly growing blockchain markets.
In 2017, over 90 new cryptocurrency-oriented hedge funds launched and over 200 crypto assets came to market.
Led by Christopher Keshian and Ari Nazir, the APEX Token fund team has over twenty five years of collective experience working in crypto ventures focused on investing, technology and data, including creating the crypto hedge fund Neural Capital.

Investors can buy into the new fund by purchasing APEX tokens which are registered on the Ethereum blockchain, which means they are not restricted by a high minimum investment or multi-year lock-in period.
Tokens can be bought from March 2018 via the APEX Token fund website and the initial cost will be $1. The minimum investment in the fund is 0.1 ETH, with the cryptocurrency currently worth around $862.
The APEX Token fund will not collect fees from investors after the tokens are distributed. Instead, the fund will only charge an initial upfront fee to cover administrative and management costs throughout the lifecycle of the fund.
APEX tokens are tradable from the moment they are distributed to individual investors and they can be bought and sold on any exchange which chooses to list them. Tokens can also be exchanged directly through peer-to-peer transactions. Every time an APEX token is bought or sold, the transaction is recorded on the Ethereum blockchain.

Managing our own portfolio is the best thing and wise too. Agreed. I was just checking the options, if there any such services available and i believe its a 'NO' as of now.

There is one. There's a fund called cryptomerian, and it's been along for quite a while. The founders and all are based in Turkey, if i remember correctly. Their company is registered offshore, and they are a pooled investment fund essentially.

They invest in everything from altcoins, bitcoins, ICOs to gambling bankrolls. You can buy their coin, which represents shares in their investments. Then there is Bit20 and crypto20 which is an index representing the top 20 cryptocurrencies, you can also invest in them.

This is pretty much the only one that I'm aware of, at the moment. Still though, they are quite risky to invest in since they did have some problems in the past. Just manage your own portfolio, it's much more secure and there are no commissions.

I wouldn't give someone your money via crypto. If anything you should buy mutual funds if you are interested in investing traditionally.

Sooner or later fund managers will arrive.

But if that "fund manager" is nothing but an untrusted member in the forum with no clear qualifications, like some of the ICO founders around here, then its better to manage your own portfolio yourself.

I got that.. I also wouldn't give my crypto to anyone. But, there are many who require this kind of services and this space needs exploration i believe. Sooner or later fund managers will arrive.

Old Mutual's Gold and Silver fund started investing in cryptocurrency last year. See

https://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/companies/financial-services/2017-11-23-old-mutual-gold--silver-fund-is-now-trading-bitcoin--to-buy-more-gold-and-silver/

Quote
Old Mutual Global Investors, the UK-based asset manager, is taking positions in cryptocurrencies, such as bitcoin, through its Gold and Silver Fund, Bloomberg reports.

The fund, which manages $216m in mostly listed equities, started buying bitcoin in April, with a mandate to allocate up to 5% to cryptocurrencies, manager Ned Naylor-Leyland told Bloomberg on Thursday. The plan was to take profit from bitcoin as the price rose and reinvest it in gold and silver assets.

The bitcoin price exceeded the gold price for the first time in March. While the price of gold is up 8.7% over the past year, bitcoin has shot up 1,000%. This has caused many to label the cryptocurrency a bubble, although pundits point out that less than 1% of the world’s population owns it, suggesting that the price could rise further.
