There are two boards I know of which is the Archival and the serious discussion board that newbies are restricted from posting on. Regardless, I don’t see any contribution that a newbie can offer that is beyond the remaining boards. Infact the beginner and help board covers almost everything for newbie, so you can post all your contributions there
In addition to those boards that you mentioned, this board[1] Investigations ----> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=227.0 is restricted as it cannot be viewed by guests. You need to log in to be able to see the content, and the information contained in it is very restricted.

Also the Lending Board, newbies cannot ask for a loan without collateral.
@OP you do not need to worry much about these restrictions, you should focus on increasing the good content and sharing your information.

It was suggested though by @DireWolfM14 that Restrict newbies from posting in the lending board?.

So for now the following boards are restricted: Archival, Serious Discussion, and Ivory Tower.

Ivory tower,Archivers board and Serious discussion boards are highly restricted for newbies because there is nothing your rank hasn't qualify you to post there, maybe your contributions there might be invalid since you are not yet grounded on such topics.

As a newbie, you should be OK with the B&H board,Bitcoin discussion boards, Economy board and Meta board for easy learning and contributions on topic discussed on these boards that o mentioned. You should feel free an Navigate around the forum and learn about the forum on your own.

Archival, I don't really know the reason.

Serious discussion and Ivory Tower, it's supposed to be for high quality posts only and it's not only for spammer because signature isn't visible in that place. But it seems those two sections aren't working like was been expected since it make people not interested to post on there.

Moreover it's unclear which post should be posted there, let's say someone want to discuss about technical Bitcoin, a newbie can post in Development & Technical Discussion section. If the thread discuss about serious topic and no have relation with Bitcoin, it can be posted in off topic section.

It would be good if the OP clarified whether he is talking about threads (sections) where newbies can't write or places where newbies are not supposed to talk because it is understood that it is a conversation "for adults only". I think that what he is asking is the second question, but most of you are answering to the first one.

IMO, if you really have something to say, don't restrict yourself: many good ideas come from unbiased outsiders and virgin minds that, although don't know many details we do know, don't have yet adopted general beliefs that may not be entirely correct but, for having repeated over and over again, we no longer question them.

Well, maybe it is not decent to write in the most technical sections of the forum if you don't know about the matters they are talking about there, but this is not only a range issue.

Another good place to post apart from the ones mentioned by my colleagues are Local boards if you are a native of a foreign language like me: in my experience, newbies are usually very welcome in these little tribes and veteran members are much more permissive there than in the "north" (international boards).

Hello everyone.... I've seen handful of boards and threads that I can make reasonable contributions to by sharing my knowledge about some of the topics that are being discussed in these boards and threads but as a newbie, I don't wanna make unnecessary mistakes and that brings me to the question of "Are there boards and threads I'm not supposed to post in as a newbie"?

One simple rule is that if you're logged into your account and see the "reply" button in any board, it means you can post there, but if the "reply" button is missing, it means you can't. Serious Discussion, Ivory Tower (child board of Serious Discussion), and Archival are examples of such boards (I asked a question about being unable to post in Archival when I was a newbie).

as Nwada001 has said newbies cannot post on archives, serious discussions and Ivory Tower. if you think you have useful knowledge that is worth sharing with everyone, try reading this part of Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ(Guidelines for threads) to know where to post your thread while you are still not allowed to post on the boards where newbies are prohibited.

I don't know how the newbie posting ban works, but OP, can't you check it yourself?
I guess that if you're not allowed to post somewhere, you won't be able to do so, no matter how much you want to. Isn't that how it works?
Logically, how do beginners learn what is possible and what is not? The function of not allowing writing in certain places should work.
How it works with avatars, for example.

Yes, as a newbie, you can't post or reply on the archive board, Ivory Tower (full member rank at least), or serious discussion (junior member rank). Those places are not that important right now, and any place where you are not allowed to post, your post will not even go through in the first place. If you have contributions to share and ideas that you think will be helpful to others and those threads are still open, feel free to drop your comments under those posts. There is no harm or crime in doing so as a newbie. Your ideas and things you have upstairs matter a lot; those are not being rated by rank.
