The word HODL is damn real and it still works but many holders today aren't really up for it, they tend to hold for two years and make big money or become whales, things don't work like that in crypto space, if you want to be a holder you have be ready because it can take more longer than you planned for but the end result will worth it, you only need to make sure you holding good altcoins, no matter how down they go once altcoin season returns you will smile

In my opinion, Hold is not a bad thing if you choose the right one to hold.

This work differently, you can't tell me that hold do not work for Bitcoin, Ethereum and some of these Blue chip ALtcoins, you win some and lose some. Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.
And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

From some of your portfolio lists, I know only about NPXS coins. When compared to 2017, it is very far from the current price, NPXS has lost its value, but there are still many who hold this coin for the long term. if some of your coins are still valuable today, it might be better to sell them and convert them to ETH / BTC. It's a good decision before the big pumps come along.
Holding alt coins for a long time is not foolishness in my opinion, but of course we also have to know which alt coins are worth holding for long and which alt coins we deserve to sell quickly, because not all alt coins are good to defend right now, especially if they are. Does not have a large market and community, if you look at the list of alt coins you have I think you are too brave to risk losing money by holding these alt coins, my advice if you want to hold alt coins for a long time should be like BNB, Eth, LTC or Bitcoin.
I used to hold 5 of those coins in the list but fortunately I sold early, ' holding ' term is an advice not meant for altcoin especially, even if the project shows prospect on long term sell off at the peak of the altseason and buy again in the bear market. The choice on purchase will depend on the relevance and development of such project at the time. Those projects are not likely to reach the ATH again cause they have lost the supporters, whales, community and some even their exchanges with trading pairs.
Holding also has an end. If you hold ,you need to put a time limit if until when you will hold your coins or tokens. Don't be greedy because instead you gain profit ,you will lose it. Holding for a long term with altcoins is very risky unlike holding bitcoin which you already know that it has a bright future.
