I don't think we'll see $5000 in 2017. Surely that's too much of a rise from the current price. Price rises of that magnitude are dangerous so I'd rather consider a slow & steady climb.

As adoption increases any business will move to peak. Same as that bitcoin has adopted everyday by many people in and outside the forum. Normally we use to see the price bump only in December month from the past 3 years but this year some countries make the bitcoin as a legal money and many finance related business and banks has been implementing bitcoin and own altcoins for them.

Lets break into 3000 and hold there first. We get so close to 3k then fall back. Been stable in 2900 range for a few days let's see If 3k can be breached!
Yup! I agree this is what I was thinking to just stick to the $3000 dollar mark because this is the most near to possible, and July is just getting to the mid of it's days and we are approaching to the new spot light of the Bitcoin price and I really can say that if we can step in that mark value, what is next for bitcoin? is it going to pursue $4000 and maybe $5000 or it will drop back to $2000? I can't really never say for now but let's just hope it keeps on increasing.

I think that this week wont reach 5000$/BTC, I am a noob investor but I think that this year BTC isnt going to reach 5000$ due to the possible hardfork on Bitcoin.Secondly, there are chances of a hardfork happening for years now. More people are supporting it recently indeed, but the chances of that happening are still very small.
Bitcoin will do a UASF on the first of august, and if that is succesful, i don't think we will see a succesful hardfork anytime soon, and the price of bitcoin will probably moon.
A lot of people seem to think that UASF is the break out point, but I have my doubts. We need a significant scaling solution like the Lightning
Network to scale much quicker. A 2MB upgrade in the Block size are not going to cut it for mainstream adoption. The UASF phase will come with
a lot of panic and confusion and this will put a damper on the price. We still have some major scaling hurdles to cross, before we will see the
Moon.

Seriously, I knew people were chasing quick profits, but this is getting absurd. Just wait for it, as soon as the price drops a few hundred bucks, people will throw around with threads asking whether or not we'll be heading back towards sub $2000 levels. People's moods here are equally as volatile as Bitcoin's volatility.
It will be incredible if it comes to the end of the day. I believe in the fantastic growth of bitcoin, but it seems to me that such a jump in growth will be too unrealistic.

I guess it is impossibe to reach that amout within this week or next week even if it will increase that fast because 5000$ is quite high. However, I think within this year before the year 2017 end bitcoin attain that amount and yet there are many things could happen to help the bitcoin to reach or to surpass that amount. I'm not quite sure that bitcoin prices could reach $ 5000 by the end of the week. I am more optimistic this happens at the end of the year, because there will likely be a reasonable increase to occur until the end of the year. $ 5000 speculation is too high to calculate right now.
I also think that bitcoin will reach $ 5000 by the end of the year, and not by the end of the week. It grows well, but subsidence is possible.

With such good growth and the prospect of development, everything is possible. I think already this year we will accurately touch the $ 5000 mark, it does not matter in a week or a few months, but we will see it this year.
btc went from 1000 $ to 2800 dollars in few days . so yes why not from 2,800 to 5,000 $
