People will take advantage of every little high/peak to sell and make profit. This will keep the price down every time when BTC is rising... But  yes it will go $1000 again

i have no doubt it will go to $1000 range again at some point, but it can take several years. a lot people don't have that much patience.

the price will eventually have to go above $1000, as the coins will get scarcer and scarcer. Especially given how the Chinese are still vacuuming them up while they can.

The coins are getting scarcer and scarcer because of the fact that many people are trying to cash in on the fact of upcoming halving, and some want to
be a part of the 21 million club. Since bitcoin is advancing each day in and out, there's no doubt that we will see 1000+ prices once again imho.

cheers

Exactly my thinking, this technology has been just born and coin supply is limited. As we advance, and adoption goes further and further, what do you people think will happen to price, if no major negative event takes place, of course!

I back that up again.
I agree with you two as well. We're still in a pretty early stage with Bitcoin and cryptos in general. And as mentioned there only will be 21 million Bitcoins. And another aspect which we should not be forgotten is that a few million coins are lost. I guess probably 2-3 million coins is a realistic number. So in the end we are dealing with 18-19 million coins at all.
Try to gain an amount of 10-50 coins and you should be in a comfortable position.

I was wondering... Bitcoin is halving in the beggining of next year.
~How many of you still believe we will see it hit $1000 again?

I firml believe we will see again $1000+ coins in the future, and if I didn't believe in this, I wouldn't be here. Come on, anybody that has done any research can see how good this technology is and how much it can improve in the future. Add to that VC fundings of this year and you can start connecting dots.

yes maybe someday but definitely not in this month and i still believe the bitcoin price will reach to $1000 again maybe in the next month or next year
Will be interesting to see what a litcoin halving hype can do to the bitcoin price this month. Last pump it carried bitcoin quite a bit..
People commonly make mistakes when it comes to the last (real) spike that Bitcoin had. The price ~$1200 was not realistic and was not achieved by traders solely. There was a lot going on behind the scenes (e.g. Willy Bot), however we should not go into the details of this here.
I just want to point out the definition of speculate. speculate - form a theory or conjecture about a subject without firm evidence.; There are a lot of people making unrealistic predictions for specific dates.

If we follow basic supply and demand, the price should go higher next year. We also need to consider what happened to LTC recently, that could also happen to Bitcoin next year (however, much more money is needed to make huge movements).

Uhh  no. If we follow real supply and demand bit coin wouldn't be worth more than $50 at best.
This market is being rigged from all possible sides.
If you still don't get it after 6 years... people have rejected bit coin and moved on to superior technology.

can you point me those superior technology? i'm not aware of anything revolutionary in the economic system that might have been created, recently

please do not talk about altcoin, they are pure clone with nothing new and everything they offer more than bitcoin can be easily implemented in bitcoin itself, i'm talking about something like monero...

I think 1000$ is not that far, possibly by the end of 2016 and maybe even before that. I do have my doubts about stability and the fact that it stays above 1k$ for more than a month or two, and if it does, and continues to be stable for much longer, it means that bitcoin has definitely been growing so much and it is actually developing a strong market as the community perceives ahead.

I've been saying the last 6 months.  Anybody not accumulating as much as possible while the price is under 300 is going to regret it.

Be honest... You didn't expect to keep saying this for 6 months, did you?
Nobody expected this bear market to last so long.

why is this a bear market? current price says something. we agree to stay below the $300 level as we are not willing to buy through all the sell orders to advance higher.

Uhh yes. The market sets the price where supply and demand meet. The exchange price is the market price and not some number you pulled out of your ass.

The market has disagreed with you for nearly 3 years. Guess what? You're wrong.
How about you take this friendly advice and ignore him? He's one of those people preaching that Bitcoin is dead/dying and whatnot. There is no evidence of anything other than Bitcoin adoption continuing and record number of investment.
He just stated that BTC was rejected and people moved to superior technology. 1) Bitcoin was not rejected; 2) There is no superior technology (altcoins are no superior at all, but are rather lacking in security).

Be honest... You didn't expect to keep saying this for 6 months, did you?

You can't generalize. I did not expect the price to go over $300 at the start of the year and that happened as well. Actually, I've said on numerous occasions that the price is great for people still wanting to get in.

If you see what happened to the Bitcoin economy since the first time the exchange price hit $1000 and what possibly is at the horizon, I think it is pretty much inevitable

True, but we need to reach 1,000 again before we get there, obviously. The most important question is, will people panic sell past 1,000 in fear, and if they do, where will it fall to? Will you sell yourself and buy again? at what price? those are the questions that we should be asking. A lot of money could be done on a big 1K correction. The question is who has the balls to sell and buy back?
