I think ICO bullback will happen in 2018 after forming regulations, the idea of ICO is great, but there are always who can exploit useful ideas to scam people.

I think maybe 70% of the ICO's were either Wall Street money trying to game the Crypto market, or outright frauds, or just incompetent people.
It did throw off the business of the many of the major companies, which haven't recovered their heights since the ICOs really started in earnest in Summer of 2017.    I hope people can put their dreams and hopes in those older companies again.

Are we seeing a pullback in ICO investing During the Oct period?

Due to recent ICO's not gaining once they hit market or also the fact we have had alot of new money come into ICO's over the recent months.

Why do you think there is less investment into ICO's if you think there is less

Good question.

I think with the recent waves of ICO scamming people, ICO having its issues, like hack or a Tezos situation and then there is the government issues a total ban of it, people are now putting less money on ICO. Until such time that ICO and government has somewhat settled their issues then we might see the trend continues. So at least those who are thinking of putting up a ICO will have to comply making them trusted by investors.

One some of them scammed people and those people never got their money back except for the case of enigma catalyst ICO which was hacked and they lost 500,000$ but instead of running away they refunded the people back. Hope for ICOS is going down as people expect to get like 200-400% return on investment and they want the ico coin to be listed on a major exchange, but they don't understand that getting listed is not that easy and it's a hell a lot expensive.

Mainly stupid ideas and obvious scams where the block chain isn’t needed or the market is already saturated to the point where no new entrants can profit. Take that car taxi ico, ridiculous. There is no need for a block chain and scale wouldn’t work in localised markets.

In previose year also in the end of year or q4 a lot of ico only can gathered small ammount of money. You can check stratis, ark and neo. But in my opinion the best ico is in thhese month when no much people invest in it. Because it makes the coin have a large room to grow in marketcap when it hit exchanger.

The ICOs are still there. But I have observed that many projects now are raising their soft and hard caps. They are becoming more and more ambitious. Aside from that, the number of ICOs in the market are becoming so big that investors are now having a hard time choosing which one is the one that will give them the most return later. Because of the great number of ICOs, it is logical that the amount of investment, even if it also increases, will be divided, unlike when there are only a few of them.

people are not investing in icos anymore because they all noticed about all the people who have been scammed because those kind of projects. It is just like giving some money to a startup project, only that you will receive some coins in return, and this is fake, because most times you will receive a token that is not even worth a 1/3 of what they promised to the investors.
anyway, it is good to hear this, because a lot of icos needs more regulations from the governments.

The only ones who are investing in ICO's are those who are not afraid of lossing their money, or maybe those who haven't been well introduced to the community, and they want to invest that money only to make an incredible profit in just a few days.
But yes, a lot of icos were raising more than 100 million dollars, and now they are not even raising 10 millions.
They are decreasing a lot, and yes, it is because the whole fud that they are receiving.

Few points for me why i stopped investing in the last 2 month.

First, the valuation is much to high nowadays. Every little project wants 25-50 million or even more. And a lot of them get it. This time last year, they were glad receiving 5-10 million. And with a lower valuation comes a lower original market cap and a much higher potential.

Second, there are not to many interesting and inovational icos in the moment (in my opinion)

so for now i am just holding my alts and wait for a rise again.

No, current projects most are not interesting but still those which are brilliant are being raised a lot. It depends on project even though market bleeds

Ico projects developers need to put more purchase confident in the mining of investors. We have been having more projects coming up today and at end could not be able to riase amount needed to develop the project and at the end we would have a fail ico. I do invest in some coins like creamcoin, dentcoin and many other but of a truth I could not get much and I will said I am a bit discouraged.

Maybe some people stopped investing in ICO until the legal questions are sorted... many governments basically banned ICOs until they prepare some legal framewrok for them.

This is what I was thinking. There is just too much legal grey area around ICOs. I think investor confidence will increase once ICOs have a more clear legal structure to work from.

Yes. I believe a lot of people are becoming very weary before investing due to all the scams out there. Plus, how many ico have you seen go under ico price once it hits the exchanges? A lot.

I think the biggest problem with ICO's right now is the amounts of money being generated. A lot of people just looking for an easy flip though with all the bonusses and whatnot it's quite a common occurance that big investers dump immediatly for instant gain (as we will likely see with electroneum).

But emphasis on the amounts of money being raised, if you compare ICO's to the conventional Angel Investing or VC its ridiculous. Most startups don't even get a 100k and have to proof themselves first. ICO's that don't even have a product or haven't even start developing raise 10million+ easy. Long term holders can expect serious difficulty in the future.
Cause most of these projects won't deliver 1% of what they promised and what they deliver is utter garbage.

Take Datum for example, its an idea without a working prototype. Hasn't even figured out 80% of the problems but has a hardcap of 153000ETH(aprox. $46million). The project and product even if they deliver is garbage, it won't work at all. Even their whitepaper is highly speculative. But most likely they will still raise enough to ''start developing'' it will flop guarranteed and money invested will simply evaporate.

I was skeptical at first about regulations on ICOs thinking you should just have a good understanding of what and how. But I'm coming back on that and I think its time for this space to become regulated. I'm avoiding ICOs myself cause I can see that most of them are completely useless, demand to much money, sell tokens at ridiculous prices, whitepapers are awefull and its litterly just money grabbing. Especially eastern-European ICOs are truly awefull.

The crypto market is over saturated right now + too many failed (scams, pump and dumps etc.) projects that people got burned on.
At some point in near future a new wave of investors and speculators will join, but so will the amount of ICOs and crypto projects in general.

Too many ICO's and too many flippers. Take Request as example, it was hyped a lot but it didn't sell out immediately. If everybody is in it for a flip and you just barely make the cap..then who is there afterwards to buy at a higher price if everybody just wants to make a x2
Give it some time, in a few months the cycle will repeat

Why do you think there is less investment into ICO's if you think there is less
The reason of less investment in the ICO's is very simple. There is a greater number of currencies launching every month since the previous six months. The cryptocurrency market, honestly saying is still very much limited as compare to the open market. Though the number of cryptonians is increasing but not as rapid with the speed the ICO's are launched.
