I don't know about the project but to be honest, I am not a fan of celebrity because I don't think that they know details about cryptocurrency. I think the developers and the team are using their big name in their fan to invite the investors to join with the project. If the celebrity learned about cryptocurrency, then I think they can gain more fans by participating in the projects. But if it's not, then they risk their big names among the other celebrity.

But maybe that will be a new trend in the future, and there will be many other new projects that will invite the celebrity to join with them. Maybe that will good for the cryptocurrency because by using their name, the crypto world can grow more than now. Besides that, it is better if the celebrity wants to learn about the cryptocurrency so they can teach, explain to their fans and the investors.

All in all, it is good news for the crypto community to have a celebrity to join with the crypto project, so that will help the spreading of the cryptocurrency in public.

Yes, I am agreed with you that they have not more knowledge about crypto currency I also think. So Celebrity project is a unique thinks but a good developer team is needed for running a project. Without a developer team the project will fail obviously. So they should think hire a good developer team before making a celebrity token.

I don't think Manny Pacquiao will just launch his own coin to fail, he has a good reputation to hold and most people in the world knows his name. He just need to have a solid team of developers who can develop the product continuously., with regards to promotion it will be easy because he's Manny Pacquaio.

Centra is indeed the most well known representative of this phenomena, just remember Floyd and his shilling while he probably didn't even have a clue what he is talking about. Or the Paris Hilton one, cringe inducing stuff.

I'm not a fan of celeb coins. As TheUltraElite said it was popular during ICO hype when the market had a bullish uptrend. Nowadays even projects with good team and idea (altcoins) go down, such celeb coins would be another crap coin IMHO. For example BuzCoin

it depends on the use of this token. if its token is just a spam token and no use at all then nahh. is it able to purchase tickets on their fight or purchase some merchandise and it is good.

Tokens promoted and marketed by celebs had become popular with the ICO rise in 2017. But I am surprised to see people take their words for granted. These celebs are nothing but similar to mercenaries who will promote your project for money at the cost and use of their popularity without even thinking how badly the project could go wrong.

Have you all forgotten the Centra scam and the association of Floyd Mayweather? Then McAfee and its idiotic propositions? Its strange that new traders entering the market dont take a look into these wrongly managed projects which ended up being a disaster for their investors and still ask the same question. They get paid to promote as simple as that. They are least bothered about blockchain and the future of bitcoin.

Not a fan, but sometime i see celebrity can make the token get hype. But only that, after it there is almost same for all tokens. Price in market very low, that is why sometime i just wait until a token listed in market so can buy cheaper price. It is better to speculate in it than i speculate in ICO. Because no one actually know what will happen in market although get hyped by celebrity.

Hype that only lasts temporarily and sometimes can hurt investors. But as long as the celebrity project has long-term prospects and the product doesn't depend on popularity, I think the project can last. Ultimately, long-term investment will depend on the product, not on the celebrity's fame
For now people should know if project is good or bad depends on what it's purpose and maybe background of developers. If only from celebrity's hype, it will have same ending. Because without hype from celebrity, actually some project can get a lot of funds already. Before this, a lot of ICOs reach hardcap only in minutes. But even reach hardcap, the tokens still not good in market.

Do you know that Manny Pacquiao is launching it own token called Pactoken?

I just want to see what will be the outcome to this another unique and experimental project that made by a
celebrity boxer, Manny Pacquiao..

In the field of marketing, Celebrity tokens like Pactoken doesn't have problems in marketing because the name itself is already
popular and no need to market it all but most of these celebrities doesn't have any knowledge about blockchain and cryptocurrency.

What can you say about this projects? Can they sustain enough longer in this market or just bubble out and exit?

This is Manny Pacquiao he is good at doing a lot of successful projects, he is a very enterprising people, he can hire capable developers and admins because he has the means to do that, what could possibly go wrong, if we invest in people we don't know and we don't know there capability, why not on Pacman.

Those coins, at least most of them, are just a joke and have to be treated like that. They are like having a picture on the wall at home, maybe nice but certainly useless.

this project has definite goals and users who need the coins. and for the promotion issue, I don't need to hesitate anymore because Pacquiao already has a lot of fans since long ago. and if the tokens / coins have been traded at the crypto exchange, I think it will last. maybe Pactoken will be a pretty stable token.
Although he has a lot of fans, does his fans understand the world of Crypto? I think it's useless he has a lot of fans but doesn't understand the world of Crypto. I personally don't like celebrity tokens that are just hype in the world of Crypto.

maybe he is good at his place as boxer athelete , but when you talk about cryptocurrency i don't want to follow or invest on any celebrity coin because their popularity only, if the team look good and professional enough on cryptocurrency thing then everyone will follow it for sure. let see what Pactoken can do on cryptocurrency

Not really

Celebrity are mostly good at entertaining/arts related thing
Most Celebrity are not born with Pro-tech Gene

This also leads to a problem where they don't really see in depth of a tech, like coins that are endorse by celebrity. I mean do they even know about what's the tech behind the coin, the tokenomic, and so

So nope, never a fan of it

No, because it doesn't really make any difference at all whether it is celebrity endorse or not.

Like this one: SEC Halts Mayweather-Endorsed ICO, Charges Founders With Fraud.

So it's really up to us to look at the project itself, not just because someone has endorse it specially celebrity personalities.
Exactly, it didn't put any weight whether that project would be successful as well. It's good marketing ploy, but you can't take away the fact that the people behind are willing to pay celebrity endorser more money because the returns could be 10 folds, like in the case of Floyd endorsing Centra that time.

Although Manny Pacquiao is popular, if I"m not mistaken this is not the first time he endorses such token and I"m not sure what happened. So just be careful, you still need to look at the people behind.

It really depends on the project structure and token utility... at this point the crypto space is so full of empty promises and scams that I don't think people will follow/invest on a project just because it is owned or endorsed by a celebrity...
If the project is good, having a celebrity name will undoubtedly be a plus on marketing and awareness...

The steps taken by Pacquiao are not entirely surprising. but this is still new to celebrities who release digital coins that revolve around them. but I think the coin has a longer future, because Pacquiao is idolized by many people and everyone will be encouraged to examine this innovation.
