Everything went as a dream. I've been waiting to sell when the price reaches $3500, and this happened in a short and made me sell my coins. Soon after this when price kept increasing I thought of buying little, but the growth is big that it crossed $4000 in a very small time.
its really a matter of trust when investing with btc as we seen how the value progress so fast and how this new ath has been achieved and it seems
that its not over yet and a lots of things can possibly happen maybe more uptrend will follow and its hard to make or place and entry as of now chances
of early holders to dumped are still around the corner.
It is better to be a holder of bitcoins instead of a seller. Bitcoins prices are rising up at present and many are of the opinion that it will touch 4000$ before the beginning of New Year. I think, investing in bitcoins and increasing them is actually better than both, holding or selling out.

I am a holder and I am proud about that.  There is nothing can make me sell all of my bitcoin Cheesy Many people have criticized me cause I put too many trusts on bitcoin but now, they have to regret not buying bitcoin Cheesy The price of bitcoin has just surpassed $4000 and many sights show that it will keep increasing its price in the next few days. Hope that we will cross $4000 before September Cheesy

I definitely am a hodler, been hodling ever since I started trading a few months back and will keep on continuing to hodl until a couple more years. And of course I sometimes sell some of my bitcoin for my daily needs but not really a huge amount.

Honestly, selling bitcoin should not be looked down upon by this community. Nobody is a millionaire until he's sold bitocins, and we wouldn't have had any "bitcoin millionaires" if it weren't for large holders selling at some point or another. Right now, major selling by a single party could trigger a market-wide trend of panic amid the otherwise bullish sentiment but that's how free markets work.

...

I sold a small position (by buying gold) right before August 1 because I was not sure how all of this would turn out.

On the other hand, I just bought a small amount *today* at "The Dubliner" (an Irish pub) at Amagertorv 7 located in the pedestrian zone of downtown Copenhagen.

Hmm, at $4000, it's now hard to buy much BTC.

Where's the both option? I sold a little and kept a little. I can always buy back in for a lower price between peaks.

The price is 4000$+ right now and as cheesy, tempting price is this to sell, I am still holding my Bitcoins for 5k$ mark. Planning to sell some of my stash then and wait for the correction. Will hold my altcoin bag forever as even if one of them shoot to moon then I will be a super rich.

I closed some positions and I didn't leave my portfolio exposed but I retained a large amount of the Bitcoin I could have sold before August 1st and kept it within my possession. I was skeptical leading up to the fork itself but I actually forgot about it when it happened so I didn't realize it had gone through until I saw people talking about it more. If I didn't see those conversations on here, I would have forgotten the fork happened at all the be completely honest.

Just goes to show how ignoring something can be beneficial.

If those guys sold out all the bitcoins they must be crying this time as bitcoin price just crossed 4k$. Also if they owe 10 btc at that time they must have got around 2btc worth of bitcoin cash so they lost too much than just bitcoins.

Wow! It's a good day guys. Bitcoin is going to moon. The pump is still going. I thought the pump is over but it's not. I just look at my wallet hours ago. It's on $3700. Then after 3 hours. I looked at it. It's very surprising. Now its  on $4000 mark. What happen? I think those split coins were dumped and sold for bitcoin. I knew bitcoin still go up despite of split.

August 1st is an intense situation, most of the people dump Bitcoin and change to other coin, but I am holding it until now, and I am lucky to hold the coin because now the price went crazy, fromm the first I believe Bitcoin will either survive or will bounce back, and my feeling proved to be correct and I got extra BitcoinCash bonus

FUD was very strong prior to Aug 1 and I think it has swayed a few noobs to sell their bitcoin. If they have just hold on it. We all have the feeling that bitcoin will really rebound but what we didn't see is how it bounce back after. We reached $4000 very quick so one has to think if this is just a bubble or not. I hope it can really hold specially that Segwit is coming over in Aug 22. So I will continue to hold my "bags" of bitcoin. LOL.

With the 1st of August in mind what actions have taken or not with regards to your bags of Bitcoin?

"bags of Bitcoin"? really?
and it is not really a bad thing to sell you know. it should always be a risk management kind of thing.
you invest what you can afford to lose, price goes up you can sell a little to take some profit. the same thing is also true when there is a risk of a drop, you sell something to be able to take the opportunity to buy at the bottom.

your question should be "did you sell at the bottom", otherwise selling around $2500-$2700 before the $1800 drop was a very good idea.

It is still good to hold our coins in a long term. Were everyone here are doing the same thing for believing they could get a lot of
benefits of it. Just be patience in waiting always calm and control our emotion and don't get attract or panic so easily if the price drop.

Im off the train at 4k. you can pick me up at 4.2k, or leave me sitting there. it will be back, trust me.

Annnnd Im off. im 25% nubits/25% tether/50% coinbase usd. I have all this parked in orders that are 10% below my magical target (i would name it, but I dont want you guys to listen to my trading advice, this is just for the record). Now that Im out, I will state my mind on this.

This shit is going down.

Why are we at 4000 right now? There is no new news, no updates, no nothing. bitcoin has completely outpaced gold and I simply ask the community to ask why. I harp on gold, not because Im a gold bug but because gold is a hell of an established benchmark. if we believe in bitcoin, surely you believe in precious metal, it was the original bitcoin dammit (its deflationary properties, its trust). With something as real as gold, something man has slain his brother for since time unrecorded, why the FUCK is bitcoin multiple times its value, a thing made of secrets and information? I cant wear a bitcoin necklace; I cant put bitcoin in my catalytic converter to make my car work sparkling fresh.

People, sit down and let me rap to you.

This is a bubble. i hope im wrong, but dont let the greed blind you and harm you. Im not trying to influence anyone; while I am a shit this is not that. We are moving too fast with the price. Growth like this is unsustainable. I dont want yall to get hurt. Make a decision tonight. Hodl, and understand empirically this is the break point. or divest, and wait for a dip/crash/retraction that just may not happen. I hold for the later. time will make one of these paths a lie.

disclaimer: i will rebuy at 4200. and hodl unsteadily.

Good luck, gentle folks.
