Two reasons in my case: curiosity for the phenomenom and greed.

Curiosity has been sparked by the fact that Bitcoin might expand to be a major factor in the financial world, and perhaps one day be the financial world itself. The possibilities are gigantic but lack of public awareness and acceptance could hinder the uprising of crypto. With greed I mean the possibility to profit from the volatile prices of bitcoin (buy low, sell high. At least, that's the plan). Right now I aim to gain profit from bitcoin but at the same time expand my amount of crypto over time.

Share with us what's your main reason for buying bitcoins?

I bought for the first time bitcoin when I hear about it. It was more than 2 years and half ago. I bought 4 bitcoin and the price was about 63 us dollar 1 bitcoin. I eat myself today to not bought 100 and not only 4. What was the reason of the bought? Initially because I wanted to be part of an opportunity online which accepted only bitcoin. This site make me know bitcoin and make me interested to learn more about it. Then I continue to learn more and more about it and slowly become affectionate with it. More learned and more become convinced about its potential. So initially was for being part of an opportunity and then because had conviction that it will be important some day. I have again this conviction and continue to buy little amounts (cannot buy more) time after time.

I am not buying too often. I bought some when I need to purchase miner. Now I buy some as I feel that price will go up. Will see how it will go.

Actually, I'm a little short on fiat currency right now.. So I cannot buy bitcoins at that time.
But, still I would like to tell reasons why someone would buy bitcoins.
(1) For trading-- Its a new way of earning through bitcoins now.
(2) For transactions-- bitcoin is a currency so obviously people will buy things from it.. And make transactions.
(3) For illegal things too-- Some people use it for gambling and negative things like ransom.

There is no real reason to "buy" them when they are so easy to get in other ways.  But i assume that several outsiders have bought into the hype lately and that is the reason the market cap jumped and thusly the price.  Only outsiders first joining into the Bitcoin world will actually "buy" their coins.

easy? where? aside from big farm and signature campign it's very hard to acquire bitcoin without buying, and signature give you 0.5 a month per senior/hero account

no they are not easy at all to earn

Other preferred to buy to get into trading profits while at the same doing that "easy" method you are talking about. Those coins that came from that "easy" method you are talking about are rotates too when someone is buying coins.

yes I have bought bitcoins

Because at the time I thought it would be a great investment for the future (I still think it is) and also because it's fun to do

who doesn't like making money next to their regular job?  Tongue

Also I do believe that the bitcoin will stick around $300 until the end of the year and then go up again

I'm buying small amounts every week (10-20 $) since April 2014. Sometimes I'm buying more during panic sell offs. I believe bitcoin is in early stages and its potential is enormous.

Depends on the situation when making a move to buy. Its really hard to predict price but somehow it is interesting.

I able to buy coins this past days when it reached to $310 but still thinking when will I dump it.
Bubble will still happen. The bad move you can make is to buy during price rise in anticipation of even higher price.
To be safe just buy bitcoin in the time between one bubble and another - like now. There will be next price spike, wait for it.

Next bubble will really happen Im sure of it.

But you know for me, its better to buy on higher price (not that high of course, plan on making a move. dont just buy) than selling it to much lower because of speculation with no basis. Anyways with the last rally, I dont see who person will buy a massive coins back when the price landed at 400-450 in just a matter of hours. Lack of resistance upon entering 400. I never think to buy coins back then.

No.

I already reached my be prepared for the moon BTC scenario and I can earn BTC directly. Not much, but enough to make difference after some bubbles.

And to buy BTC I need exchange verification or meet other people, can't say it is really an incentive
