I don't believe your friend that's the main reason why he's bought Terra at worthless price. He bought it because just imagine owning hundred thousands of it to millions and billions and then with a centavo move, he's at profit already.
It's all about quantity over quality and that's not new to the trading world and he's longing to wait for that very moment until he's able to bag those profits from that centavo move.

After reading your response I also came to think that it might be true that he had foreseen this. considering he's a crypto analyst.
So what happened to your friend now? Considering that the market has been down already and Luna is also going down as well. The party seems to be not good and exciting anymore.
Ask your friend. There's really a reason on why he has bought it. No one will buy it for no reason, everyone has a reason why we're buying this and that.

I asked my friend again. and it turns out he has already sold 50% of his coins and left 50%.

it turns out that the reason he bought it was not just for a keepsake. but in a sense if this coin really has no value anymore then he will make it just a keepsake. but behind that it turns out that he has an assessment that there is no way this coin will end like that. considering it's a big project and devs can't just run away. so he sees little potential for the price to rise again. and sure enough it happened. And now, as we can see, Binance, which has already been delisted, has actually reopened its Luna/Busd trading spot. and followed by other exchanges such as BingX and others.

His joke to me about buying it as a souvenir turned out to be an indirect invitation to me. but this invitation means buying to be forgotten. ie if it becomes worthless then it doesn't matter because it's only for memories. and if it becomes valuable then it is luck.

from this answer I also think whether it is possible for many people to do the same thing. So I also ask you all, did you buy Terra Luna now to be used as a keepsake collection to remember the achievements and history of what happened to Terra Luna?

I feel sure this incident will be a new history in the crypto world. like in 2018.

No I don't think so that people who are going to do investment in Terra now are doing that on just for the keepsake no. They are taking the risk of not wanting to be left out if Terra happen to do recovery. Imagine it if with the price of Terra now and the increase suddenly happen in 100%. Depending on how much invested in it that is money. I think this reason is enough if someone invested now not for keepsake. If Terra start increase it will surely do a multiple increase this is possible if bitcoin bull start.

but there is a unique incident from my friends in the real world, namely they buy terra luna coins in large quantities at the current price which is already almost worthless. and I asked my friend. What's the reason you bought Terra Luna? he my friend replied i want to keep it as a memento.

I do buy Terra Luna, I did it not for a keepsake or stuff like a memento.  Honestly, I don't care about Terra Luna, I bought it for gambling's sake.  Higher risk, Higher reward stuff. I have extra money that when spend or keep won't affect me that much, so why not gamble with it on Terra Luna.  If the market continues to crash and Terra Luna becomes worthless, it's ok since it won't affect my finances, but if ever The dev made a miracle and able to regain at least 3% of the previous ATH then it will be a fortune for me.  So weighing the loss-gain effect ratio,  I decided to buy some Luna and stash it to sell when the price become profitable.

I think it's okay to buy Luna just as a keepsake but if all sources for saving Luna are gone or nothing is online, how does she keep Luna in her wallet? Even if it's a personal wallet owned by Luna or from the project?

If you want to follow in your friend's footsteps, you can simply buy it and move it to your personal wallet while watching and waiting if Luna does have a chance to upgrade. Otherwise, Luna will be history in cryptocurrency.

So many people have suffered losses in this incident that befell Terra Luna. there is even news that mentions people who suddenly went into shock and fainted because he had stored a large amount of terra luna. and he went on vacation for a few days without seeing the market. and after coming home he just checked the market and he was surprised to see his terra luna coins were worthless. He was shocked and rushed to the hospital. and many other stories. you can search on google.

but apart from that I myself am an enthusiastic person for the development of this terra luna. and did not expect this bad thing to happen.

There are people that do that with fiat too, one of the most famous examples is the Zimbabwe dollar, the inflation was so bad back then that a 100 trillion banknote was printed and since then that banknote has become infamous as it shows the destructive effects that inflation has over the economy, Luna is the same, if I am not mistaken the developers are printing a huge amount of Luna as well which is nothing more but an inflation of the supply so I will not be surprised that Luna may take the place of bitconnect when people think of one of the biggest scams that we have ever seen in this market.

There's no need to buy there is a blockchain record and articles written about Luna's downfall it is recorded in all the tweets articles and everything associated with its downfall, I bought some but already sold them it's no use holding speculative assets, some made profit other takes made huge losses, right now there is no announcement we'll know this week because the Luna community are very anxious on what proposals will be implemented, we are all left hanging here.

Your friend may be lying about that. As you can see that so many people were buying luna at the bottom caused by they wanna try to scalping it. So that's happening with your friend. If he was buying at the current rate and that means he was a scalping traders/ My friends were also trying to scalping this coin anytime since this was reaching the bottom price. The problem is if this is pretty much similar like you are gambling with it.

my friend told me that now his money in terra luna is around $3000USD from the original only $40USD. how lucky he is. Ah, I'm sorry I didn't buy it at that time. even though he invited me. I bought a little late. I just bought it as a collectible with $10USD after a bit of a rise and it's now $30USD.

The profit is quite large, usually the greed factor prevents your friend from realizing that profit. I see LUNA is still actively traded on several exchanges. I hope your friend don't want to wait long to sell everything before it's no longer available on any spot market.

if I were in his position I might have sold it and enjoyed the profits. but I still see he hasn't sold it yet. maybe because from the beginning he bought the terra luna coins to be used as a collection only. considering that at that time there was a notification from binance that it would delist Luna and I don't think he knew at the time that it turned out that binance was reopening spot luna/busd trading. and I hope he's not too late to sell. but I admit he has good analytical skills. because he has thousands of followers on his telegram channel.

Oooh, thanks for the clear up.

Ah, my friend, who bought Terra Luna at the last moment before delisting on Binance, he became very lucky. he spent his $40USD to buy terra luna and he got around 32 million coins. and now we see the price of terra luna back up. my friend told me that now his money in terra luna is around $3000USD from the original only $40USD. how lucky he is. Ah, I'm sorry I didn't buy it at that time. even though he invited me. I bought a little late. I just bought it as a collectible with $10USD after a bit of a rise and it's now $30USD.

That was lottery, not actual trading. UST could have gone to 0 very easy from there. Actually it still can and I don't know what chaos could a revert also do.
But yes, 40$ is not too much for a lottery ticket Cheesy and now he can even cash in the initial investment and enjoy the ride.
But you should not be sorry. Crypto is young and there are plenty of opportunities around. Probably not for getting rich overnight, but still... Even more, the more conservative you are, it may take longer, but at least won't go south with the speed of light with this or that "investment".

but this terra luna incident I think a little different. I hope Terra Luna can bounce back.
oh well I also bought a little bit of UST at a low price and now it's starting to go up again.

The fact you have bought a lottery ticket doesn't make UST better, it only makes your hopes higher.
Good luck though.

How many shitcoins from the 2018 dump are still worth keeping or remembering  Grin

Maybe the hope your friend has is that one day Luna rises again, finding him with hundreds of thousand of coins, which is less likely to happen. The people who have ripped out of Luna are just going to abandon it and move on to another money making scheme

There are so many altcoins that have turned to dust I don't really see this one different. The only difference is the hype and the funds involved. But "tomorrow" another shitcoin will rise, bigger, shinier and will turn even more funds into some smart guys' pockets.
While I was thinking to invest a little into UST now, at ~20 cents a piece, I still think that bitcoin has a better chance to grow 5x than UST recover, so I didn't do that either.
well that's how altcoins we can't guess. and much has turned to dust. but this terra luna incident I think a little different. I hope Terra Luna can bounce back.

I still fail to understand why did so many people invest so much money into a stable coin, especially a new one. Just because Bitcoin price has been going lower?! There are more established ones, backed by actual dollars for the job.
