I am happy, I am never not happy, just have a lack of joy sometimes.

The fact I live in a $lave $ystem and the general public is to stupid to realize it, is pretty depressing though.

I guess so. But I don't think we can use a single word like "happy" to describe our life, which is obviously a mixture of various factors. I am busy with work now, worried about the thesis defense, looking forward to hanging out with my friends on holiday coming soon, above all, leading a fruitful life I believe. So, do not get struck and live your own life.

I do get annoyed when you meet people on Facebook and Twitter and the first thing they asked you is "where are you working, where do you live, are you married"? The ideas of asking you all these questions are to rate you and know the level of respect to give you. All of this question, don't matter and we should start to ask people if " They are really happy"!
I can imagine that conversation:

-"Hello. Are you happy?"
-"Yes, and you?"
-"Yes."
-"Ok. Where do you live? Are you married?"

I'm not happy. But too lazy to change
The accept your life’s a failure from now on and never expect something positive will come your way.remember that we have the rights to choose whatever we wants either to be happy or sad but if you are lazy to change that attitude ....well Goodluck to your future

I've never been happy. My life is full of sad events
Better both of you  join the club lol

You will become sad if you chooses this then start finding happiness even in sad events ,

Did you know that you are the maker of sad events around your life? The sad events will never change unless you are ready to change the way you think and look at things! What you see as sadness is the reason why others are happy.
Focusing on what is outside and abandoned what is inside of you is the root cause of sadness.

I don't know if definitive happiness is truly a thing someone can be. Life has ups and downs. Through years people will have high moments and bad.

People strive to be happy, and honestly, it's a narrow goal.

People would be better off if they strived to have purpose, not happiness. 100% Happiness is hard to obtain and hard to maintain 100%. + the expectation that everyone ought to be happy 100% of the time is what causes many to feel depressed. It's completely normal to have ups and downs.

we must rediscover the simple things that can give us joy like a breath of wind, the waves at the sea and how to be happy without being slaves of money

Why humanity is suffering today and we are having poverty and low mind is because we take the insignificant aspects of life to be the whole life!

Totally agree with you. Happiness comes from our soul. If we know how to be satisfied with things we've had and don't be so irritated with things we don't have. We can be completely happy.
