Im holding. How am I supossed to spend when I don't even own 0.5 yet :S
Once I have legit worth-holding-long-term stack I will start spending. Spending BTC and using it as a currency is basic if we want this to work, so if you have a lot of BTC, spend it.

RIP Mommy
People who are panic/market selling are contributing shit to the bitcoin ecosystem.

and why is that?
do you have the ability to elaborate on your statement?
if so, please.

I think he is trying to say when the panic sellers join in the Sell frenzy then it drives the bitcoin price further down as the momentum rises.

vs

People who hold, which are reducing the number of bitcoins in accumulation which you may ONLY and I mean ONLY see benefits in VERY long term IF bitcoins succeeds full mainstream. But I believe that ONLY holding at the beginning when this is trying to take off is not good for the eco system

Correct on the first part.

Today isn't the beginning of BTC.

THIS is: http://blockexplorer.com/block/000000000019d6689c085ae165831e934ff763ae46a2a6c172b3f1b60a8ce26f

Sorry, but I'm a dirty hodler. I have every intention of spending my coinage, but not until they get up to $1000, or at least somewhere near there. I'm wanting to buy a sweet new hi-fi with my btc. I'm hoping Richer Sounds will accept them at some point too as I'd love to give them my coins.
Why would you not spend/sell them the last time bitcoin got to the 1k/1.2k level last fall? I personally think the best thing to do with your coins is to spend them when you can, especially when you can get a discount for using bitcoin, then purchase the retail/non-discount amount of bitcoin via an exchange. Over time the amount of total bitcoin you have will grow and you will reward companies for accepting bitcoin.

Changing avatars is currently not possible.
I spent some on a new Trezor, and I think I am going to buy another Trezor (as a backup) in case this one breaks.   I replaced the BTC that I spent with more BTC.

So I guess I am only spending on what can help me hold more...

If the trezor breaks you don't need another one as backup you can rescue the funds with any BIP32 wallet Wink

Loose lips sink sigs!
I think this needs a bump due to the recent sell off this week.

Anyone new want to share their input into this poll?

Has sentiment changed? Are people who were hodling now selling for some reason? If you're selling, what's driving the decision?

Thanks

Beyond Imagination
See my signature, as long as you spend 10% of your holding per year, the daily coin supply will continuously shrink thus guarantee a constant price appreciation year over year even if the adoption rate does not increase

I was spending on equipment for more mining (what a foolish thing) but now i am holding and any equipment i buy is from fiat or immediately replenished.

Don't feel too bad. I bet every single BTC holder has at one time spent BTC for a foolish thing like mining gear.
.9 for an erupter stick.... oh well you live and learn.
At one point in time this would have been a good investment. Once upon a time erupters were the best and the greatest. As long as you didn't have to wait forever from the time you ordered it to the time it arrived you probably would have gotten ROI.

Monero - secure, private and untraceable currency.
But those who just hold are doing nothing to further the Bitcoin economy, and are thereby reducing the chance their their "HODLINGS" will go up in value.

No. Those that are holding are helping the price go up, making the hype, expensive Bitcoin is the best way of promotion right now, not the merchant adoption.

The revolution will be digital
The proper protocol is to force yourself to spend, and then replenish what you've spent.

It takes extra effort.  But those who just hold are doing nothing to further the Bitcoin economy, and are thereby reducing the chance their their "HODLINGS" will go up in value.

Use the coins folks.  As often as possible.  Then replenish
