Shouldn't we be focusing on the password of the next zip file?

Alright, it's 1230 in the after noon. I'm going to bed. I'll dump what I got- just remember me when you're rolling around in tall that BTC Cry **sniff**

7:51 - my hunch for this for a long time was that it was "Bit Sha"(7 characters) followed by it's private key(51 characters). I tried like a million times and it wouldn't work. I tried so many variations. No dice.

"Bit Sha" - Bitcoin and Shacoin are both things. But so is Catcoin, which if you couldn't tell, is pretty relevant to the image. All of these are 7 charaters long as well. I tried variations of "Bit Sha Cat" and the such with combos of hashes but had no luck.

I tried most every variation of the previous followed by their priv key equivalent as well as the img file's hash/priv key.

Just in case some of y'all don't follow- Take any data >> SHA-256 >> Base58check >> Private Key

As for the Catcoin, I couldn't find anything that led me to a transaction or block or any such that had a clue. Catcoin uses scrypt to hash and I didn't even bother looking into it, so maybe there's something there(prolly not).

Here's a list of a small portion of stuff I tried so you can get an idea of what I was going for.

Oh, and surely some one else has noticed that the file size for this little jpg is 1.21mb right? I turned it into an audio file and found nothing. Checked the hex, ran steno tools on it and couldn't come up with anything. But then I noticed that after saving/moving/copying/whatever the file size dropped to 600kb. Perhaps the false file size is part of clue?

I don't know anymore.

Good night and good luck.

No I dont escrow anymore.
Doesn't that look like two game characters fighting with swords - the left one holding a shield as well.
-snip-

It does indeed and if you concentrate to "not see a cat" you can actually see the rest as a langscape.

Now that you mention it, it does look that way...

Also, if you look at the face the eye are staring at the 7:51

I tried to use week 51 day 7 which this year is Dec 21. On Dec 21 this year it is winter solstice. I tried to use that, and the sha256 hash of it as password. no luck

`No, I give it up,’ Alice replied: `what’s the answer?’

`I haven’t the slightest idea,’ said the Hatter.

Why do I keep getting stuck at this?

Maybe because I haven’t the slightest idea either  Tongue

Or the remaining gibberish letters from after the morse code 'stop word'?

As another member pointed out, STOP in morse code means stop transmitting message (or sentence) and continue with next, but we couldn't find anything else  Undecided

The Public adress decommpressed first file, is there any other of the public addresses, who deposited the BTC in that first public key, that might unzip the 2 cnd file?

Just a thought?

Nope..
7+5+1=13. Naw...
7-5-1=1.  Ace?  Of spades, maybe?

52 cards in a deck, yet only 1 has power in the storyline.  Queen of Hearts.

Nope..
The name of the file is the layer. First we had layer 0 then layer 1. My bet is the next file is named 2.7z

Not that i thought it would work but i gave bruteforcing a chance. The password is longer than 4 chars

You broke one of the rules......

Don't piss off the Queen of Hearts.  She lobs heads off...

For the password to 1.7z I tried characters 7-51 of sha-256 hash of the Hint.jpg image itself but no luck!

Hmmm, it seems weird that coinartist has a bitly link for a Pufferfish article. Might have something to do with the puzzle. Who knows?

What do you do in an ARG when stuck?

Backtrack the steps that were made, just to see if clue's were missed.
The Morse code topic was brilliant, I've been puzzling long on the remaining code, until the enderman overlay popped up.

Too bad the overlay image was hard to find, google is not always your friend :-(
With the overlay the bit .ly adress had to be found.

This hint was availlabe 24 hours before the result was posted on the forum
The word "CoNtra" pops up to me.

Current hint: ask a classic, avid gamer

"Contra" - my guess is contra code: http://www.ign.com/cheats/games/c-nes-5653

That, and the fact that you are actually the owner/creator of the bit. ly/mindthecraft link makes you
the puppet master.
bitly .com/u/xavier46930

The trip through MineCraft... I could not track.
The current status, the 7z file...
bitly .com/1juqeCj+

This link has been created on 28th of Juli... thats a couple of days after the start of the quest.

So Xavier.... one question, if you please.
It there an excisting live trail that leads to the price, or are we only making the progress while
the puppetmaster is awake and is the trail made as we go along.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind spending time to search/find clue's....

last clue I found... off the trail, but sharing the info anyway.
