It's not quite that simple, because there's an extra step involved. People in the community follow the media and the media need to post sensationalist headlines because it's seemingly the only way they know how to get attention. We need the media to stop glorifying baseless price predictions, because that's what causes people to think it's important. It's not important, yet they keep reporting it. But, chances are, they probably won't stop, because they generally aren't well informed enough to report on technical matters. Plus the technical side probably doesn't yield as much click-bait traffic as the mindless speculation articles do.

Take a look at the tokens he promoted Shivers, bezop, Simmitri, Docademic, latium, Cpollo, SAFEX and you come to a conclusion on how to trust him.
Why this person is still being discussed, as if he has a certain weight in the cryptocurrency world and can influence the market through his actions. If every cryptocurrency user already knows that McAfee is a fraudster, then it is better not to pay attention to his statements or actions. Once upton a time, if John McAfee tweets about a coin, the token/coin moons. He loss relevance really fast because of tweets and predictions like. Now no one listens to him.

John is good at exaggerating things maybe just to get the attention he is seeking. Nobody in his right mind should be taking all the words he is issuing to be true or will be true. He is a marketer, and he might be believing that any publicity (even the bad ones) are still publicity. Now, compared to Mr. Craig Wright, I would still prefer to have John anytime. I doubted it would ever be a million dollars per Bitcoin in 2020. Either the dollar value would have to crash to say a penny on the dollar for that to happen or Aliens from Outer Space would have to invade and say they are using Bitcoin for interstellar payments across the Galaxy lol. I would take everything and anything said via the Media by any so-called Prediction Gurus with a pinch of salt. As long as you got whales shorting it on Bitmex and Co, I don't expect the price of Bitcoin to go past 10-15k USD for a very long time. I prefer to be realistic and cautious and then win small as opposed to hoping BIG.

We should not trust any of this tech geek even though we know that they have established something big in life which we didn't but at the same time bitcoin does fall under their area of expertise so they should avoid loud mouthing about bitcoin and taking back on their words. We don't need to consider them seriously as we are more knowledgable in bitcoin and we need to follow our own research.
