Which Bitcoin wallet is the best?
A good bitcoin wallet should first choose a wallet from a trusted and reputable provider that can provide a better level of security. I have used Electrum so far it is safe, what matters is how carefully we keep the correct seed phrase.

If you do not have a lot of funds, the electrum wallet will be the safest and the best bitcoin wallet. Also if you want to store large amount of bitcoin you may go for the hardware wallets. Some people have very little money and still they opt for hardware wallets. Anyways it is their choice.

So far I can still used it without facing any problems. So sometimes I wonder about other Electrum users who complain because they say their account was hacked. But for me, it's proven and tested.
Actually, even if the wallet has a good security factor, there is still no guarantee that it cannot be hacked. if the user does not take appropriate security measures, such as keeping the seed phrase, password secret, not installing suspicious software, and avoiding actions that may invite security risks. If this is not fulfilled, no matter how good the wallet is, there will definitely be more people who will complain.

The Secuity of the wallet lies in our own hand. In case of Electrum wallet, we should download and install the wallet from the official site. Before installing we should verify the GPG signatures so we know that file we downloaded has been signed by the real owner. This is useful because if the official electrum site is compromised and the hacker replaced his version of electrum on the page, you will get a signature mismatch error. Although this process is a bit complicated, but it is worth spending the time on it and save yourself from any trouble.

Just because you don't have problems today doesn't mean you won't have them in the future if you slip up and make a mistake. Your hot wallet holds the signing keys to your crypto and they can get stolen.

You are right dude in what you said, and I may also be wrong in what I said, and thank you very much because at least you gave me a little bit of a situation that could happen in the future as well.

Saying I don't understand why some people complain about Electrum and losing their coins when it never happened to me is like saying you don't understand why some people complain they have health issues due to years of smoking when you have smoked for decades and nothing happened. Be glad that it didn't, but don't get too comfortable. Your coins only need to get stolen once.

You're also right here and I'm also a bit wrong that we shouldn't be too comfortable because we don't know what can happen in the future.

As long as you put the private key password or seed phrase in a safe backup. Since I don't have a hardware wallet wallet even if I bought a Nano or Trezor, I only use Electrum.
It's not just about storing your private data appropriately, it's also about how it was generated in the first place. A malware-infected computer with Electrum installed as a hot wallet is less secure than an airgapped computer where Electrum is used as a cold wallet. It's the same software, but used differently and in different environments.

So far I can still used it without facing any problems. So sometimes I wonder about other Electrum users who complain because they say their account was hacked. But for me, it's proven and tested.

Which Bitcoin wallet is the best?
Just like other users have earlier said, there are lots of wonderful Bitcoin wallets ranging from software wallet to hardware wallets, so it all depends on what you're looking for.
Here's a thread I came across on the forum the enlists some good number of bitcoin wallets. check this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5282364

For mobile, I recommend BlueWallet (if lightning custody isn't a concern) and Zap if you want a wallet that focuses on lightning (and if lightning custody is a concern).

I'd just use Blockstream Green. Even though that doesn't have Lightning support, it *does* have multisig support (and also features the Liquid network if you're the odd person who even uses it).

Which Bitcoin wallet is the best?

If you only need to store bitcoin, then Electrum wallet is the best in my opinion. I have installed desktop wallet on my laptop and it works perfectly.
When you need to choose a wallet, go for a software wallet plus make sure it is open source as well.

Electrum has a mobile version too. He already talked about it though he had emphasis on the desktop version but the mobile wallet is equally good.

I have used Electrum wallet on my mobile phone, but i do not like the mobile version of Electrum. Also, it does not have all the features which the desktop version possesses.

The one with the most work is no doubt Bitcoin Core-- even though that's more than just a wallet software. The software that is specifically made to use as a wallet software and has the most work must be Electrum. It's lightweight, simple, open-source, and involves lots of features such as coin control, multi-sig, lightning.

For mobile, I recommend BlueWallet (if lightning custody isn't a concern) and Zap if you want a wallet that focuses on lightning (and if lightning custody is a concern).

Edit: Oops! Didn't see September up there.

Whats wrong with these newbies opening one thread and never come back to read the answers?!, lol.
Their intention was never to become a regular poster and member of the community. They had a problem, they probably googled the issue, and a search result brought them to Bitcointalk. Maybe it was a suggestion by a friend or some other forum user. But I get your point. If you got the help you needed, the least you can do is say thanks, I got what I needed. I learned something, Bye.

you can also use this link ---> https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet will ask you several simple questions, and by answering them, you will choose the best wallet according to your answer or according to your needs, and therefore the best wallet will be allocated according to those answers.

So to get a better answer, use the link and then choose a list, and we can choose for you among them because the word "best" is for comparison between known things.
Good info but the OP wouldn't be able to read/use the given information since he already left the forum a long time ago 😁.

Electrum's Android application has never convinced me to make it my main mobile wallet (if I needed one). I do have it installed but the feel of it isn't comparable with the desktop version. It also doesn't have some features like coin control and message signing. I think the console tab is also missing.

Mobile wallets aren't equally good as desktop wallets for example Electrum, IMO.
Considering its high risk when you're using Electrum in the app version especially if you will use your personal mobile phone or it's a rooted phone.
The risk is the same. Compared to my mobile phone, what are the chances of having my laptop stolen or compromised? Same, especially if i regularly access the internet using my computer too.

The difference comes in when one performs good security practices

Here (highlighted text) you could give the names of reliable mobile applications that can be trusted (as far as it is possible in the case of app), so that OP avoids interacting with dangerous ones. Unfortunately, I don't have sufficient experience in using mobile wallets and can't recommend anything. Actually, for me to know too.

The reason most people suggest electrum is because it's open source and reproducible, something which is not possible with most software wallets.

The best Bitcoin wallet IMO is the hardware wallet, because they'd built-in security features that will secure your fund.

Roll Eyes Sorry.. This is such a common question. We have countless threads exactly like this one already.
It would help if more people searched for them and looked for answers that have already been given.

I recommend https://ninjastic.space/search as search engine.
You could also filter by 'Development & Technical Discussion' board, like this. https://ninjastic.space/search?board=6
Also consider Bitcoin Technical Support https://ninjastic.space/search?board=4.

Which Bitcoin wallet is the best?
You need Bitcoin wallet for what device and for what purpose?
For desktop computers one of the best options is Electrum wallet, it's open source, easy to use, and you can even connect it with hardware wallets like Trezor, ledger, etc.
If you want to be extra secure than you can use this wallets to create cold storage for storing larger amount of coins.
For smaller amount of money you can use mobile wallets on smartphones, but this should be used only as pocket money.
There isn't one universal solution for everyone and you can even combine several wallets depending on situation you are in.

Before using any wallet you can check out walletscrutiny website and see if they are reproducible or not:
https://walletscrutiny.com/

or alternative website is bitcoinbinary.:

One of the best bitcoin wallet to use is bitcoin-core. As light option I will prefer electrum.
As mobile wallet I will use Free Wallet / Wallet of Satoshi / Phoenix.
I have used also hardware wallet, but you need always to backup your seed...

https://news.bitcoin.com/wasabi-wallet-to-begin-censoring-coinjoin-transactions/
WASABI has several issues if you want use some of them features... it has been discussed even here on forum
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wasabi-blacklisting-update-open-letter-24-questions-discussion-thread-5405325
Personally... I don't like the idea to not extract the single private key Sad

In my opinion:

- BlueWallet for a mobile wallet
- Wasabi for a desktop wallet
- A Ledger/Trezor hardware wallet for long-term holding

Ultimately, what the "best" wallet is is totally subjective. But one thing's for sure, 99% of bitcoin holders should grab a reputable hardware wallet.

The only choice for a wallet should be a hardware wallet and nothing else.

And electrum if you need a wallet for small deposits.

For newbies I would definitely recommend the electrum wallet and if you have a PC you can go with the official Bitcoin core wallet, or just buy a hardware wallet, these are the best options suitable for newbies, I've never bother using these though I started using trust wallet years ago and I still use it till date, no hacks or loss of fund so far.

Honestly if you have to ask. You should just keep it on an exchange for now until you do some research.

On the exchange make sure you use a unique password and enable 2FA. And make sure 2FA is not by SMS and you should be fine. Sure its not 100% keeping on an exchange but its better than using some wallet online and you end up getting a virus and getting it stolen.

You asked the question in the wrong board though. That's why you are not getting enough responses

Your first choice would definity be an open source hardware wallet like Trezor
Here is a list of Open Source Hardware Wallets

Alternative there are open source software wallets that are popular like Electrum (https://electrum.org)
it sometimes also depends on your preference: This should guide you - https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

We could recommend a lot of stuff and a lot of wallets that you could try and determine the best wallet for you, but in general, what I think is that the best wallet to have is the one you own, meaning you generate the seed phrases. You have kept it in secure storage whenever you need it.
