The only thing that makes sense to me is that the card manufacturers are repurposing production yield fallout, cosmetically defective or repaired cards. To incentivize this card, it would have to sell for $100 or mine at like at 60 Mh/s @ 50 watts.
That is what they did for the 1070ti now that it is known they were going to be using these chip cores for another card but didn't want to and just to save money created this ti version instead.

Funny is, these cards usually last around 3 months

I've never had a card last that short of a time on mining - 3 YEARS is a lot closer to the norm, and on the low side for the cards I've HAD that long to date.

I bought P106s In my country, u can not find cards easily and electricty is sooooo expansive. Thats why I bought. If I want to find cards, I can buy them from another counntries and late and warranty is nothing for me . Global warranty is not included . Mining is not just ETH. Sooo ? If you were me what u shold do? Waiting for cards, paying more electricty or when your cards are broken going abroad ?

I ve 6 x Asus P106-6g . I m getting 153 mh with OC on Claymore Dual for Nvidia. I m happy with these cards. Next week I ll get 6 x P106-6g also. I paid 255 USD+ tax for each one one month ago and now the prices going up. Near 300 USD
400 usd in Russia and 2 months of warranty  Grin line and one-month salary

Funny is, these cards usually last around 3 months or so hehe and by then there will be no warranty for you, so you stupid miners will never get your money back and in the end will be all for nothing hehe, eth at this price is a steal since difficulty is just so bloody high and in few weeks will be worse, difficulty will double and maybe triple hehe, you trolls never learn hehe, if i were you i would buy eth no stop

Try finding ANY GTX 1060 at $300 or less TODAY.

"Earlier this month" pricing hadn't started skyrocketing yet, especially if it was the first week or even the second week of June.

Please find the datasheet for NVIDIA Mining SKU; final naming is “MINING-P106-6G”
Product detail and condition:
PRICE: 226 USD
-Warranty: 3 months
-Packing: bulk pack, MOQ=10
-All I/O port removed

That's not a good deal at all. I paid $215 for an Asus gtx 1060 earlier this month, not a cut down mining one.

I don't get the excitement over a card that performance wise is roughly equivalent to a 1060, but with only a 3 month warranty and virtually zero resale value.  Sounds like a pretty terrible deal to me.

A 1060 does between 18 to 23 mhash.
If you OC alot you could get more but that is not stable with 6+ cards.

This 1060 is cheaper and does 30mhash out of the box!
What is there not to like?

 the 1080 version does 60mhash!

Based on early benchmarks on real cards, these alleged hashrates are being shown to be fake news.

So far the "mining specific" cards are pretty much matching the consumer-grade cards on hashrate.

On the plus side, if optimised for it, they SHOULD use less power then the consumer cards, and they DO seem to be selling for quite a bit less than the current "gouge" pricing - when you can find the cards in stock.

Quite disappointing from the P106-6G results I've seen. I was hoping there'd be some sort of custom bios for the AIB partners with faster timings--especially at this MSRP.

Is there ANYWHERE in Europe where we can get these (AMD or Nvidia) ? Or is there actually ANYWHERE in Europe where we can get any type of rx 470/480/570/580 at a decent price ? That shortage is getting ridiculous.

I agree. The price is also too high.

Yes, not worth the money.

Well if the shortage continues, it wouldn't be such a bad deal. The question is: would you rather wait possible months before getting your hands on a few mining GPUs and miss out on mining a bit, or go for dedicated GPUs with worthless resell value that you will likely have ROIed by then.

The choice isn't that easy.

Supposedly, the 7 MSI 570 I ordered beginning of June should arrive mid-july...no idea if this means a large restock.

Wow, this motherboard looks awesome...12 GPU support, this is a lot of power for one rig only, amazing!

I see the older BioStar MOBO is already on sale for 150USD , "only supporting 6 GPU".
