I agree that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general are easily accepted much more by younger people than our older folks, this i believe is because the technicalities involved in buying, selling and even hodling bitcoin cant be easily understood by the older folks, probably because they hardly have the time to sit and study the subject, most especially those of them who already own and are running their own big businesses, they fill they've fulfilled their destinies already, so why the hassle, trying out new stuffs.

But the younger folks that are still searching for their destinies are always ready to try out new things, for this forks, their risk appetite is still on the high side, so its no surprise that they are the ones that easily accept bitcoin and crypto.
I got into crypto in my early 20s though.

Lots of bandwagon replies on this topic.

Age is a factor when discussing acceptance of new technologies or ways of doing things. This of course doesn't mean that the elderly are limited or incapable of learning new innovations, but they are more likely to stick to what they are familiar with and have a lower level of curiosity when compared to the younger generation.

The topic might not be very irrelevant to this board, but that doesn't make the observation wrong.
And OP, this would be better as a poll as users here might not want to reveal their age to the public.

I'm not sure what you mean by trading Bitcoin. When we won, the Bitcoin trading began for me. Because whether we buy it ourselves or get it from someone else. That is, we trade Bitcoin directly, whether p2p or through an exchange. I can't remember the exact year I won Bitcoin, but I believe it was in 2016. I was new to Bitcoin and didn't know much about it. Now I understand a lot about cryptocurrency and trading.

OP I really do not think age factor is necessary for one being knowledgeable about Blockchain or bitcoin. Age is no limit neither is it a barrier and there are no restrictions in learning about it. At any age, one can learn as long as you have the ability to grasp what you are learning about, you can do it better.  It has not been long I got aquatinted with bitcoin and I am doing just good at it. I bought bitcoin and I am holding it, I bought other Cryptos and I am trading them for profit. So why they age factor here.

Don't say the old don't invest in btc.there are some old people who love to be young forever, they interacts with the youths and learn new ideas from the youths also, so that they can move along with the new era and some of these people welcomed btc innovation and bought btc even before you did OP. Am new in btc but I don't trade,I have heard of it and was willing to learn about btc in 2020 but there was nobody to put me through till I met a friend in 2021 who introduced me into btc and gave me the basics. Am still learning, to trade, you must learn the trading techniques so that you don't fall into lost.

Age really doesn't matter to get into bitcoin/crypto and learn about it. You don't need to wait for a specific age to do something with crypto it is not a bank where you need to reach at a specific age to create an account or do transactions.

I have seen less old people that first gotten in crypto
This may happen in the early time of bitcoin but not now. There are so many things on the internet to learn about bitcoin or crypto for anyone to take knowledge. I learned about bitcoin when I was 22.

According to me mostly people that came in crypto are mostly young aged people that range from 15 to 30 years. And I have seen less old people that first gotten in crypto. Because they think that crypto is not good for them.
You have made your assumptions based on what you know and the very few insignificant number of persons you know who are in bitcoins compared to the total number of bitcoin hodlers worldwide.

Age is something of the body, it does not determine how accepting someone will be when introduced to bitcoins for the first time, what determines it is how accepting the persons mind is to new ideas and innovations, and this is not restricted to only people who are young in body and age. Some people who are old in body and age, but young and accepting at heart and mind have accepted bitcoins and are hodling, at the same time, you will find people who are young in body and age but not accepting at heart and mind still holding opinions that bitcoin is a scam.

OP, I don’t really see any relevance in your topic. People’s age at when they started trading or got into bitcoin isn’t at all relevant in my opinion. I think a better heading for your topic would be “What year did you get into bitcoin and trading” but that topic also has probably been discussed a couple of times already.

I think the demographics of bitcoin users, traders and investors are more of the younger and middle aged people than of the old elderly people. Most of the elderly in my opinion, are more conservative and traditional. It would take a whole lot to convince them that bitcoin, a currency that you can’t see and touch is real or as valuable as people say. They don’t think crypto isn’t good for them, they actually don’t believe it’s a real legit thing.

OP how long have you been in the forum? How often have you been reading?

Check up for the profile Jet Cash he is seventy plus or eighty and above and still Bitcoin Rich and contributes hugely to the growth of Bitcoin and the Bitcoin forum. Not only 18-30 are here in the forum.

Too much of all the ranting and questions, Bitcoin creation has nothing to do with your age, all you have to do is to get bitcoin and preserve and store it very well, because the greater the need of the digital coin, the  greater the need to preserve it. Ensure you do what is important by the accumulation of little sats.

I'm not were I'm supposed to be in trading of Bitcoin but at least I'm headed somewhere. I've heard about the digital currency since 2019, but I guess I'd blame my reluctance to do something on skepticism and a lil bit of FUD, if not, I would have been able to purchase a handful because the price was a bit low then( I think, about $7,200).

But I fully started in the year 2021 and despite it's ups and downs due to volatility in price, I'm still pushing. I think the best way to enjoy trading in BTC is if you trade with what you can easily dispose.
heh, because you won't wanna get suicidal when your investment falls down like a pack of cards
