The amount needed to retire varies greatly depending on individual circumstances, such as desired lifestyle, location, and healthcare needs. Financial advisors often suggest aiming for a retirement savings goal of 10 to 12 times your annual income. This would allow for a comfortable retirement with a similar standard of living.

To determine a more accurate estimate, it is recommended to consider factors such as anticipated expenses, inflation, investment returns, and potential sources of retirement income (such as pensions or social security). Consulting with a financial advisor can help in creating a personalized retirement plan.

you have to complete the question: When would you say is enough for ... what? That is the question that carries the answer in itself. What do you want your money for? To quit work, to enjoy a certain lifestyle or to create a fortune that goes on for generations. Perhaps the right advice is to set yourself a target and stick to it or else all the money in the world will not be enough for you, as it is human nature to always seek more.

At what point will one say that he or she has had enough money?

For me when you own your house and the land where your house is built, that's when the time you can say you have enough money in this world.

I sincerely agree with you; the basic need of man include shelter, food, health and few others. Anybody that can afford those without much stress should be considered as having money.
Another reason I see a lot of people also want more money is to be able to help others who are in need and who may not be privileged to make ends meet. My greatest joy is putting a smile in someone else's face and I cannot do very well without money as majority of the world is going through financial stress at the moment.

So the quest for money is a continuous one and will only stop when money is no longer a factor in the equation of life.

Money will be felt to be enough when it comes to the right person, namely someone who is good at being grateful for the blessings that God has given. They enjoy whatever they have without having to compare it to what other people have.

Don't be too busy to compare what we have with what other people have so you don't have time to enjoy it because you are too busy making money so you can balance and exceed the wealth of others. Indeed, if talking about social status can be measured by money, other people will appreciate and respect you because you are rich and have a lot of money, but the size of happiness cannot be measured only by money. Indeed, with money you can buy a luxurious house with luxurious equipment inside. but not with comfort and harmony in it.

I think, the decision of when you have enough money is a personal one. There is no right or wrong answer. The most important thing is to be honest with yourself about your needs and goals, and then work towards achieving them.. Undecided Undecided

I will repeat myself again after sometime as this post here made exactly think the same. There is no right or wrong answer I think is not a complete truth, the complete truth is that money is an illness, one of the worse ones anyone can encounter,if you think I am joking I am absolutely not joking.Let me demonstrate with an example of my boss again,he has enough money for generation yet he is ill for money,he keeps staying in his office even on Saturdays and Sundays where the outside temperature is well above 99 Fahrenheit and that is very hot.He has quite some villas in many cities that have access to the beach yet he rarely if at all goes there,if this is not money illness I don't know what this is.

At what point will one say that he or she has had enough money?
Actually, when it comes to money, from ancient times to today, many people never feel enough with the money they have.
Because if it's a matter of feeling enough or not in terms of money, it has entered the realm of lust that is in the heart.

So basically, if we have money, whatever the amount, if we can be grateful for the money, surely the money will feel very sufficient. But if just keep following lust and greed. Even if have a mountain of money, will never feel enough with that money.

So in essence, a person's sense of contentment with money is definitely very different, because all of that must be adjusted to the needs in his life. But if you look at it from the side of people who always follow their lust and greed. Even though suppose their life needs have been met, still people like that, will never feel enough and satisfied with the money they have. So in conclusion, feel enough in the context of having money. It all depends on the gratitude of each person.

At what point will one say that he or she has had enough money?
The point at which one can say they have had enough money is when they have acquired sufficient wealth to comfortably meet their needs, fulfill their desires, and make a positive impact on their life and the lives of others

People's desires are endless, whether you say how much you need to live an entire lifetime but then with many factors, it will all change. That's why we're always trying to become the better versions of ourselves and you get as much money as you can if you ever can.
Today, you may say that a million dollars is already enough for you. But after a few years, you'd say that it's too quick to be gone because of inflation and the demands and needs plus the wants that you wanna have. That's why it is an unending desire and cycle and the contentment of a person never goes an end. While you're able to make as much money as you can, enjoy your better days while you're strong because in the end it's still health is the best wealth and no amount of money can retain that youth and health you've got while you're still young.

1 Timothy 6:8:
But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

Ecclesiastes 5:10:
Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.

At a point where you can afford all you want by yourself and still move freely in your neighborhood and everyone love to associate with you because of the helping hand you have render to them. secondly, contentment is one thing, one can assume one have enough. if you can manage the little resource you have then you have enough.
it's hard to presumed one has enough money, because your much is someone else daily spending. its all about contentment to. me.

At no point a man can say he had made enough money rather he has made a lot because pinning that you've made enough is as not longing for more any longer yet you have bills and responsibilities to attend to.

By this, your filled cup as enough money is already depreciating and as time goes it gets empty returning your filled enough levelled to a zero zero.
Otherwise I can only say a man can say he has made enough money only when considering his age of advancement and had to take a life time break of less stressed but would/may be a  financially dependant to some person's.

To buttress this, one can make a lot of money but not enough money because money is counted in figures and in numbers where of one figure or number is out the total number or figure is depreciated.

Money can't be enough for humans. Our search for wealth and needs is numerous. Everyone wants to get the best cars, and buildings, and to have a luxurious life. All that requires enough money to sustain. You can't be spending money living the best of your life, without trying to make more money to facilitate the good life you are living.
in this time no amount of money is enough - I we purchase a TV there is upgraded version next year - if we get an iphone there is upgraded version in coming days
So the struggle is real - one should not stop earning money unless they achieve the financial freedom

I think the money depends on who owns it. That person, if he already has a lot of money, he will continue to want it somehow until when.

I personally also think, I really want to have a lot of money, accompanied by a healthy body.

Maybe the money is enough, not limited.
When we have money, and we look up, we seem to have very little money. And keep wanting more.

This solely depends on the individual. We vary as individuals so as our love and drive to acquire money.
There are folks who let the amount of money they’ve got define them. These folks would never be satisfied with the amount they’ve got and would continue striving to get more.

I think someone who wants and strives to acquire more and more money can never be content and perhaps can never be fully satisfied.
Money, after all, is the exchange of value. To me, there is no point in beating one's chest about being wealthy to the point of having extra money. Money has value until you reach the value of money, at which point he or she can say, "I've had enough money." How do you divide the cost of achieving such heights? Is by using your available money to fulfill all of your dreams and wishes in order to be happy, and then lending a helping hand to the less fortunate members of the community in order for them to also fulfill their heart desires. He or she must be content with the amount of money available to them. He or she must be a giver as well as a producer.

But if you have the 'desire for power' disease, money is never enough, even if you have take over the whole world. The next thing to rule is the moon. And then Mars. Money is never enough.

Money? Can it be enough?. There is no point one will say that he or she has had enough because the more money you get, the more your social and economic responsibilities expand. At this point there will be an outrageous budget and living standard that needs to be met at all time and this will require that the source of the money flow will be strengthened  to keep the flow coming and steady

At what point will one say that he or she has had enough money?
You have enough money when you say you have had enough money there is no fixed point, the decision is yours to make. This is why you still see billionaires who have seen enough money in their life still keep going and working to get more because they have not decided that the money they have seen is enough. The question then should become, how much money have you decided is enough money for you?
I think as long as a person is in good health to enjoy what they have that is point when the money is enough.
If you are sick and you dont enjoy the luxuries you have purchase then there is no use of them
