to bitcoin loan di has is not legal in the uk as i am guessing the lender is not registered ? if not registered the only way to do it is hire dept collectors that freelance  Wink

Bitcoin itself is in legal grey area. For someone willing to put in the time, they may be able to resolve this debt or a portion of it outside of the courts through family members, or with some preparation, successfully take it to court for a settlement.

He has resources.

Just so it's clear.... please refrain from commenting/contacting DI for collection purposes until the close of auction. It could affect the winner's ability to collect.

I might beable to help whoever gets this were bouts in the uk is DI?

An address would be the minimum I'd need to be able to see if the debt was recoverable at all. It would also likely need to be denominated in GBP but with the rapidly fluctuating value it would be really difficult to pin down.

Oh, I see some of it is from others.

As second hand debt, I'm not sure how easy it will be to recover.

I have some debt for AUCTION! I've not had time to pursue this debt and it's now up for auction! Debt is owed in BTC however, collection through the courts would result in a judgement in GBP. From what I know, up to 10k GBP can be awarded with very little cost and would not require legal representation.

This auction entitles the winner to the sole rights to this debt. It also entitles you to my cooperation as required to collect the debt. All lenders have been very helpful and I will provide to you what they provided to me if you purchase (PMs, etc.) To a citizen in the U.K., this could be a very good deal. Likewise, to a saavy researcher elsewhere, there is value here. The Chicko debt is a *bonus.* I am also throwing in BTC0.4899 that is owed to me by tealover for a Radeon 5830. He literally may login at anytime, or he may never come back. Details: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--224772

Bids will be in USD and can be paid in BTC, LTC, USD (Amazon, Dwolla, Paypal). Other arrangements will be considered, check with me prior to bidding. Amount due will be quoted based on BTC-E at the end of auction.

Auction ends: Thursday, July 11, 11:30 p.m. CST
Total Debt: BTC210.4699
Starting Bid: $10
Minimum Bid Increment: $5

Some selling points:
  • Both DI and Girlfriend are very active on public facebook pages
  • Digital trail is a mile long with activity on a blog, forums, and other misc. gaming sites
  • Very distinct grammar and term usage that could be searched
  • Identity of some family members is known
  • Multiple aliases are known, and he is perhaps still active on these forums under a different name
  • He is relatively conversant and willing to discuss the matter
  • Admins have IP address that could be creatively used to link DI by location and date
  • He owes others including Goat and Giga and dozens for shirts that were not delivered, they may be willing to help
  • He has been mining on his hardware for over a year and may have a stash of bitcoins

Negatives:
  • He is quick to hide behind a british harassment law that he cited, but I’m unsure if it actually applies to criminal debt
  • Claims someone stole his identity to do this
  • I do not have any phone numbers or addresses, but they could be found easily
  • The kid has no real job
  • Family has money, but he was 19 when he perpetrated the crime, so unsure of liability
