If ASICMINER required voting the PT would vote in your behalf and it is up to the PT issuer to ask you about your opinion on the matter, or not.

However, In ASICMINER the holder of 5000+ shares has special privileges like extra frequent updates on the company progress and some hardware were promised as gifts. Either these privileges would be shares with the PT shares owners or not, That is up to the issuers.

I would ask of you to ask such question in the appropriate thread of ASICMINER.

Sorry, you're right. My last post here, Smiley. Thanks for the clarification!

Nice try, AM is down to 2.151 on btct...

Those are pass-through shares, I don't see anyone selling direct shares cheaper. Anyway, I'll keep the dividends if nobody's interested  Smiley
You can buy PT shares and then convert them to direct.

What is the difference between the two? And what does it cost to convert?

Depends on the PT operator. For example G.ASICMINER-PT does it for free but process only large sum of shares (250++) while TAT.ASICMINER does not give you the option to withdraw to real shares at the moment or writing this.

Is the only difference between PT/real voting privileges?

Just a heads up. Share prices went up to 2.5 on the PTs. So these shares are 0.1BTC cheaper now.
