Not only can the winning bid for each note go towards the general dev fund, you can also allocate your donation towards a specific Community Crowdfunding System proposal. Even though there is only one active proposal seeking funding right now, you can opt to wait for a proposal that you support to donate to. Your donation will be kept in BTC until you decide to donate. Donations will be made in XMR, but the auction will be priced in BTC to avoid confusion for most people wanting to own one of these low serial notes.
