let's keep it on point here guys - no one here was shill bidding.

with the exception of 2stout and his 2 lots, all other sets have been funded/shipped.

all units have been paid for and the final 2 will be shipped tomorrow.

Im not sure about the editing of the posts, havent looked at them. If the purpose was to raise a bid at an earlier timestamp. That constitutes fraud, cheating and should be immediate removal from auction. In future auctions we should put editing is banned in the rules.

I dont believe anyone was attempting to do that - just possible rushing or entering a bid just to get notice that someone right before you posted a higher one, so editing to outbid them.

I think the best option may be posting in collectibles with a redirect to the auctions area - where posts cannot be edited for any reason. This way if mistakes are made, there is no correcting them, they just have to create a new post.

or simply ... the last offer (from user a) is quoted (by user b) with the new offer ... this would also prevent editing perhaps

true but that still requires a lot of rechecking.

I think it might be good to post the auction here in collectibles - but have it redirect to the auction area where the thread will be posted as well but where the posts simply cannot be edited.

I also want to look at the tool that someone posted earlier - I dont recall who, I will have to go back and look but it might be helpful as well.

...I feel like the strikeout tool is a way of correcting typos while still being transparent. I believe I used it yesterday twice, once to correct an amount that was incorrect ... It’s a tool that allows for transparency and can be tracked by other users.

imo, such strikeouting is somehow ok. in a recent auction, someone's bid was invalid so I ignored it because I was sure I would win anyway. short before ending time, the bid was edited from invalid to valid. if no-one cares or does not look close at the procedure, then the wrong winner would be announced. so why is transparent strike-outing just somehow ok? in a 1-1 it's easier to track, but in an auction like yesterday it's impossible to track, no-one is able to check if a previous bid maybe 1 or 2 pages before was edited/striked out and made valid. it should then at least kick off the extension period once again.

sorry for OT.

no and then when its 30 bids in 2 minutes and then having to watch all the edits and then look at archives and snapshots - it can be time consuming and then people asking for up to the second updated bids - its just not that simple.

would be nice if the forums had a means of selecting "auction" like they do poll - that would eliminate editing. Also would be nice if we had a "max bid" option like eBay does. That would also help.

Just run auctions like this in the "Auctions" section where you cannot edit your bid Wink

LOL the irony... Says the guy who has tried to delete all his auction threads ever since I caught him letting the person he was auctioning a coin for... Wait for it.... bid on it so it would not go for under peel value ... Roll Eyes

Now go back to your shady safe-space and let people with honesty decide how to run their own auctions ... Roll Eyes

Edit - If you can't figure out what I posted there, try connecting the dots I put down. Wink

first, MM, thanks for running this great auction. I also think that you did a great job in this hustle and bustle.

second, maybe some thoughts or ideas for next multilot auctions:

  • when running a mulitlot auction with tight extension periods (here 5mins), maybe split it, like lots 1-5 ending time 6pm, lots 6-10 ending time 8pm, lots 11-15 ending time 10pm; so it's easier to track and you have a cooling-off period in-between; and it's also easier for users living in different time zones to participate (at least, e.g. for cygan and me here in Central Europe, a 2am ending time with unknown extension is tough especially during the week)
  • another option: as auctioneer, you do not update the list during the bidding war. just stay at the rail and once no more bids are made, go through all bids afterwards and see what was the last legit bid for each lot.
  • I have noticed recently in some auctions that editing/deleting bids afterwards has become a bad habit in auctions. I completely have no clue if it's technical possible (and if the forum masters want to implement it) but my idea is the following: when a new auction is started, the auctioneer shall de-/active some options like "edit post" or "delete post". so if someone is participating, one can just post or quote, but nothing else.

I agree that Mopar managed a chaotic and exciting auction. While I agree that people should not be able to delete bids, I feel like the strikeout tool is a way of correcting typos while still being transparent. I believe I used it yesterday twice, once to correct an amount that was incorrect, and another to correct a lot that I incorrectly bid on because of using copy/paste in the heat of the moment trying to keep up with a bot. It’s a tool that allows for transparency and can be tracked by other users.

doing my best guys - this is my first multi lot speed auction like this.

no bids have come in for a bit i am going to lock the thread and make a full audit and update the list shortly.

You did well! I had no clue people would be editing bids. Sorry for my cursing as it definitely wasn't directed at you.

Agree with Haloxons suggestions.

Noting a dispute here with LOT 9, have PM'd you

will look thru.

he is correct - winning bid for lot 9 is LOT 9: 0.0099 at 08:27:08

both affected parties notified, neither had yet sent payment - so no refund needed at this point.

ok - I have gone thru it numerous times and this is how I see it.
There were numerous people editing their bids and then also several people who kept outbidding themselves when it wasn't necessary which then brought in later bids - however, I am going to go with their previous bid (the one before they outbid themselves)

I apologize for any one who not agree - please send me a DM if you believe I am erroneous in any fashion.

I will be sending DM's shortly to each winner with the two addresses they need to send pymt to (1 for the auction and 1 for the coldcard load)

all messages have been sent - all payments for the auction should go to address: bc1qp9rx6cum2mxfjx3n50f7mpdkqtd3s8y9kr6fcr  --- DO NOT SEND FUNDS TO ANY OTHER ADDRESS FOR THE AUCTION BID AMOUNT

and all funding should go to the coldkey address also provided - this varies per lot - so please be sure the address you send to matches the lot you won!
