I did some reading on juristic persons. Is Auroracoin a juristic person. Ie. Can it sue?

I feel like I'm repeating myself, but no, Adam, Auroracoin is (like any other decentralized currency) no juristic entity (person). Only true persons or legal corporations can be.

Auroracoin itself is, juridically, best compared with a movement. The movement itself can in no way be held accountable for anything legally. Any person that acts within the movement on its own can be though. This still will be that one person's entity suing (or being sued), not the movement.

I have a question which I hope someone can answer: can owners of Auroracoin take legal action against other parties just like a company would sue another party?

I'm not sure I understand the question.

By owners do you mean users who have acquired and hold some Auroracoins?

And what kind of legal actions are you talking about and in what case?

I mean take legal action against reserve banks on behalf of auroracoin as a "shareholder" claiming anti competitive behaviour has damaged my "business".

There are no owners of Auroracoin! We have only one legal entity connected to Auroracoin and that is the Aurarad foundation. The main purpose of that entity is the promotion and education of people in Iceland on Crypto currencies, especially Auroracoin.

Of course there also is the DEV team that has taken responsibility of maintaining the code used for Auroracoin and tries to enable and support the community that surrounds Auroracoin.

Adamastor showing the love in Cape Community !!

wow, that is amazing to see how you have embraced Auroracoin as your local alternative value trading system !

I will definitely be looking for the right time / article / interview to use your efforts as a personal story of how Auroracoin is being used and what it can offer.

Why did you choose to go with Auroracoin ?

I can tell you that it makes me that much more inspired to continue my dedication to this coin.

Of course I always wanted to change the world, just didnt know that I would be doing it in my home country of Iceland using a vehicle like Auroracoin that can actually drive the change.

The gods (or God) must be in my favour.

Much love and respect,
Mikjáll

I've pretty much gotten auroracoin to all my close friends and family but merchants adoption is next to nothing.

I've approached several community members about promoting crypto  but that has proven very slow.

I've lived through an era in my country of financial fraud and undue inflation because of government corruption and a depreciating currency.

I've witnessed our neighbour Zimbabwe go through hyper inflation before dumping their currency outright in favour of the dollar revealing the true face behind all fiat currency.

We live each day with a accuse awareness of the criminality of our government without any means for redress.

I beleive that the one time event of the airdrop makes Auroracoin the answer to a new and democratic financial system for the world.

I have a question which I hope someone can answer: can owners of Auroracoin take legal action against other parties just like a company would sue another party?

thank you adamastor.....

heres a whooop  for ya Wink      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L92zXjQ8nCA

You can perhaps find a way to accept Auroracoin for services, discuss Auroracoin and other cryptocurrencies with your friends and explain how they will eventually be a part of everyday life, and it would be best if the people, and not the banks, decide how the future goes.

When the store is up I'm sure we can find some way to show our appreciations and work something out.

thanks for the compliment, though the producer, director, sound guy, light guy, scouters, and other assistants deserve all the credit.

I have been working with the foundation from a couple of weeks before the documentary and now have an office there doing research, marketing work, and even some programming again.

Also I have been spending time downtown and at the pools Wink discussing Auroracoin with whomever is interested.... probably 2-3 a day, musicians, actors, politicians, business people, and everyday people like you and I, seeking for that sense of humanity that has been under financial rulership for far too long.

Any particular interest in Iceland ?   Have you spent any time here ?

Just to let everyone know that there are some events being planned for this month and some adoption meetups, some of which have begun to occur.

Right now it is informal as I work with some merchants on roll-out strategies, but we will be having more formal events in October.

More news to follow, including an online store, buy Icelandic products and creations with Auroracoin.

take care,
mikjáll

Awesome!

This post brings me joy.

Is there any way foreigners like myself (a South African resident) can support your movement.

Are you working with the dev's or the foundation at all?

I loved your film

Can I get a whoop whoop

Is the Auroracoin Foundation aware that the hosting has expired at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/?? Roll Eyes

Some team members have been covering the cost of the this explorer for a little while now, but we have 3 additional AUR explorers that are available for use for free(listed in the OP).  If it were up to me, I would say we stop paying for it and let the community decide if they want to pay, but I know I usually take a more aggressive stance on matters like these.

Kind of a tough call for me.
I have covered it before since I liked the clean look, and they have always been prompt with replies and updating information.
All in all a very decent, responsive service, but four explorers may be redundant at this time.
They do make it easy though for anybody to contribute to it's expense to operate.

New release, release notes and downloads: https://github.com/aurarad/Auroracoin/releases/tag/2016.08.1.0

Code:
Upgrade to BerkeleyDB 5.3

Any particular reason you decided to switch to 5.3, every other wallet runs with 4.8 because of compatibility issues?

4.8 is quite outdated, making it more difficult to keep build (and run) environments sane (Ubuntu for example needs the package from an external repo, adding extra steps to use it). Devs in our team have been using 5.3 for some time now and problems have yet to surface. If I'm correct the "compatibility issues" are all because of backwards compatibility is lacking (if you upgrade you can't go back any more).

You can still keep using 4.8, but you have to build it yourself.

Just for clarity, we just removed two posts related to a new exchange that stated it listed Auroracoin.

Only exchanges that have listed us by our request and have proven their legitimacy are listed in this op. Not that we have any judgement on other exchanges, but we need to make sure this thread is not used to scam people. Any exchange can get listed here, but please do so by contacting us in PM.

Thanks!
