@el_rlee
Where is your location?
I have a complete controller set of a batch 1 Avalon, to borrow until you have a new one.
I'm from Switzerland.

Is the fuse F1 a semiconductor fuse or just a glass tube with a wire inside? Either way, wouldn't it be sufficient to just cut it with a side cut or so?
semiconductor one i guess

Dude,

I suggest when you get back home to unsolder F1 to avoid USb chip overvoltage (control unit v 1.5) and to install usb hub in between (WR703 and FPGA controller).

I do not know how long will you be away from your avalon but if you can afford to leave it offline until you are there and fix the problem that would be best option. Otherwise USB chip can melt
And finally last time when i asked my girlfriend to help me out with wires when i was away it turned out to be complete mess Smiley

so leave the lady alone Smiley

Best
PS: if you do have more than one avalon you can install one hashing module in each of the working units and change PSU accordingly + cgminer opts.....

Hello All,

 thanks for being helpful. As the message length here is limited here is the full output of cgminer after flashing to the newest version:

http://pastebin.com/tj59xv6k

I would still appreciate a lot if somebody could give me a hint on how to re-program the FPGA - https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon#Update_FPGA_controller_firmware doesn't really tell a lot, also not the readme from http://downloads.qi-hardware.com/people/xiangfu/avalon/fpga-controller/

Do I have to understand it like this:

* download and compile http://xc3sprog.sourceforge.net/
* download and compile https://github.com/Wolfgang-Spraul/fpgatools/tree/master/mini-jtag
* download what exactly from https://github.com/xiangfu/mini-slx9-board/tree/master/firmware ?
* download xc6slx16-2-ftg256.bscan_s6_spi_isf_ext.bi from http://downloads.qi-hardware.com/people/xiangfu/avalon/fpga-controller/
* Run mini-jtag load bscan_spi/bits/xc6slx16-2-ftg256.bscan_s6_spi_isf_ext.bit && sleep 1 && ./xc3sprog -c qi -v -I fpga-controller-firmware.bit

Can I do all of this in OpenWRT?

By the way

Wow, guys, I have to say Im impressed w/ your mature & heartfelt responses reguarding his wife. Totally not what someone would expect from a community of 'hackers & geeks & nteen year olds' =P
Way to go =)
I gotta be honest, I would get pretty upset, try not to let it out on the wife as much as possible, but I would none the less get upset at the situation =(

First part: Yes, really - Bitcoin and the community seam to be mature!
Second: I told her to open the housing, she didn't like to - how should I get upset then?

Thanks!

cant you just connect them to some computer with usb, and mine with it using cgminer?

The code for all devices is built into the binaries I have uploaded except for Avalon on windows (but why on earth would anyone want to do that?).

Indeed, wifes are known for fudging Avalon's. You may need to replace the wife with a newer model as soon as possible.
The old one has some sentimental value to it...

Code:
[2013-06-04 12:15:28] AVA0: FPGA controller messed up, 1 wrong results
This is a harmless warning that happens at regular intervals where the system will reset itself. If your avalon is mining, don't worry.

From your log. it's an old frimware(cgminer 2.11), you better update to latest firmware(20130519):
  https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon#How_to_reflash

Your log too short. try to log more after upgrade and can you take a picture on your fpga controller board?
