Just picked mine up from oregonmines!  Matt drive over an hour to meet me halfway and seemed like a real cool guy.  The fact that these have direct factory warranty, oregonmines is local, and he was willing to drive out and meet me were big deciding factors

How much do they sell them for?

Interesting to see Avalon still making units and now making along the same size of ant miners. Shame both cant get a good price and also a good watt usage out them If power could be reduced on them and a good price to buy then I would also buy. Maybe when Bitmain or avalon release something that is as powerful and half the power use then id be interested.

what ? are you mining a secret generation we don't know about ? end game. A6 = the box of this generation. if you think your price on A6 is off, contact someone at oregonmines.com. We like the S7, we love the A6.

Compare to previous generations.  Your already getting a lot more power for your electricity use.   Just look at efficiency of Avalon 6 and S7 compared to previous generations.

Most that say they are going want something more power less electricity... just repeat that and never buy a miner.   Honestly this is the current gen, just like S7.  Your getting more for your electricity already.

the avalon 6 boards are like prisma boards Smiley

and what does this mean?

please explain.

every aisc mining board is like a prisma board in one way they all use asic chips.

is this what you mean?

or do you mean avalon 6 boards will run hot and burst into flames?

I got one on Friday and have been playing with it over the weekend - really love the workmanship on it, it's built like a tank.  I've been keeping things super hot in the room where it's mining just to see how it deals with the temps, and it's surprising tolerant - although the can control still needs some work, unless 74c is the ideal temp.  Wink

Here it is happily sitting in my mega-rack - the rest of it's brothers will be on Monday and my S5 Mega Rack will transform into a Avalon Mega Rack.  Smiley

I would not go with this.  The Avalon 6 has temp control and is not out there burning up boards.

So to copare it to a prisma.... is not really that accurate in my eyes.

Have you been able to measure the amount of watts being used at the higher speeds?  That is quite a good OC from them.

I'm curious how many watt's it's using to get that higher speed.  If you have a kill-a-watt or something like it you can measure it pretty easy.

I need to order another - mine went down for the count

I've lost 2 of this exact same model of kill-a-watt over a six month period. I'll never buy another one, now I just measure the amps on a PDU and estimate the watts. These things seem like they are made really cheap and it makes me question how accurate they are. Has anyone found another brand to compare these to concerning the wattage readout?

wait for a link I have another company

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E945SJG?keywords=watt%20meter&qid=1448125838&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2

it read 2-3% higher then my kwatt meters.

don't run them with over 1200 watts for days on end . As all of these cheap ones die  if you do that.

For the sake of completeness, here are the 5 that are running on 750w server PSU's - 24 hours and going.  The Hash rate is the same pool side -

Very interesting for sure.  Thanks for sharing all the information.   How many watt's are the miners using that are getting the high speeds with the 750 watt PSU's?

I am actually using 3 750w PSU's to power 2 miners.

Tomorrow my electrician arrives to switch me to 240 and then I can switch all of them to my server PSU's (and hook up the rest of the miners  Grin)
