ugh, I really want to pull the trigger on one, but the math is not good on this.

@ 10% every 11days. if it arrives on sept 3, it will take you till around early jan 2014 to break even. 36BTC profit if you run it till mid Nov, 2014. minus cost of electricity, fee's and maybe unforeseen blackouts etc etc.
at a more bleak outlook,
@ 13% every 11days. you will never make your money back.

if you can hammer one out by early july, then you're looking at some safe returns.

if you are not okay with that, you can pay 50BTC for a 10Gh/s (13 if you over clock Blade from ASICMiner)

Since you put it that way, I procured another AM Blade for less than 50 BTC. I hope to have it by next Tuesday.

Additionally, I have K16's on order through Steamboat's project that will give me a higher total hashrate than your product at a cheaper cost, by about 20 BTC.

 Thank you very much.

The title currently reads: "[AVALON ASIC 72GH/S] 7 OUT OF 32 MACHINES SOLD. 28 REMAINS. "

I think your math is a bit off there, bub!

Hello,

Thank you for pointing out the typo, it was meant to say 7 out of 35 machines, not 32. We have made the appropriate corrections.

BTCBuyer,

What state are you located in?  Perhaps to help settle some of this back/forth trust is to have a few meetings with peers on the forum and build some F2F trust with plans and discussion.  This would go far to close the 2X devices for pre ordering.

Regards,

Ted

I have seen a few threads like this, Some legit, Some bogus, I am not calling this one either, Just saying no matter how much proof there is, I will not part with BTC until I have a product in hand, When I pre-order at the shop, I pay when I collect the goods, not months in advance.

I'm just pointing out many of us here feel the same way, I really do hope your the "real deal" I would love to be a proud owner of one, I would proudly say, As I am known here more than you, If I get a unit delivered to me, The SAME HOUR it starts hashing I would pay your BTC and shipping costs, But I know that aint gonna happen!

I wish you the best on your venture, It is nice to see people doing this as it puts more pressure on "other company's" to deliver more swiftly.

To everyone on this thread,

I respectfully ask that you do not rehash the escrow or no escrow argument, as this will just be a repetitive cycle. I am firm in my belief and my conditions.

If you do not share this belief, I respect your belief. You can wait to see further confirmation as I continuously update this thread. I simply ask that you refrain from posting accusations and judgments.

For those who are interested, again, I welcome you to join the Asic family as an early adopter.

I am open to having a private conversation with you over the phone. Please contact me personally for this information.

I have posted a video of my avalon asic purchase transaction here: http://youtu.be/rhLM86mOE7c

Thank you very much for your interest.

Hello DrG,

Thank you for your post. In response, I am firm with my conditions. I understand that there are disagreements, but we do not have to all agree on the same point. I do not want to rehash the escrow or no escrow reasoning above. I do thank you for your suggestions about proof method, which I will keep in mind.

In the past, startups have started with much less proof of delivery than I have (i.e. Avalon). I have proof that I have ordered the chips, and I will post up a video of my transaction in obtaining the bitcoins. We all have to start somewhere, and this thread is my announcement of my service and product. I have stated my belief, and I am holding true to that belief.

I understand credibility builds with time, and I am starting it now.

If you have any questions about my product, I welcome you to engage in a private conversation with me, either through phone or on a private message. This is thread is meant to gauge interest. Until you have talked to me, please do not jump to conclusions or judgments.

Thank you very much.

OP -good plan and I applaud your initiative (wish I had jumped on the chips earlier).  But the lack of an escrow should be blatant no-no for any forum user.  Short of meeting you in person, giving you BTC blindly is tantamount to running a Pirate.  The screenshot is about as useful as a pic of you holding a shoe.

If you want simple proof, video tape yourself closing the box with tape at the FedEx or UPS location and presenting the box for shipment.  May seem cumbersome but I have sold devices that were valued at 10-50k before and the I received a complaint stating I shipped an empty box (from a dentist no less).  Simple statement of fact citing mail fraud (yes even FedEx and UPS are covered under these commerce clauses) will get most people to shut up.

If you find that too cumbersome and don't want to deal with escrow then this board is probably not the right place for you to sell.... cough*eBay*cough

Hello everyone,

Thank you for reading this thread. To answer your question about escrow, below are my complete thoughts on the issue. You do not have to agree with me. However, if you would like to be one of my clients, my conditions are firm.

WHY ESCROW IS GOOD: An escrow is helpful and useful in limiting fraud for a buyer because he or she acts as an intermediary between the two parties. For example, if you were a buyer and the seller never ships, then the escrow takes funds from the seller's account, and gives it back to the buyer. This strengthens the Bitcoin economy because risk in bitcoin dealing is limited.

WHY ESCROW IS BAD: The escrow system does not take into account disputes between the buyer and seller, which is known as "escrow scam." Bitcoin is designed so that you have total ownership rights of your money. This is offset by the competing interest in fraud protection. These two interests cannot be compromised: you either have (1) total ownership rights of your money or (2) fraud protection. With that said, I believe in the first camp, that the power to handle your money rests in your own hands, not a third party, escrow, or bank. It is up to you, and only you, to send bitcoins to your trusted entities.

In a buyer scam, the buyer purchases a product using escrow, then claims he never received it, thereby filing an escrow dispute. While bitcoin escrow services can mitigate the issue, it can only do so with a simple default to a 50/50 split in the event of a dispute.

I have personally looked into Escrow JohnK's contractual fine print. He says that on the event that any problems arises, "he will release the escrow to whichever party that presents him with the most convincing proof and/or after an open discussion with others." Therefore, my investments and potential double loss (from the original bitcoins to buy the chips and the revenue generated from the sale) would be pending on the escrow's decisions.

You are free to make your own decisions as to with whom you do business and the conditions you attach. These are my conditions and the reasoning behind them.

I thank you for your time and concern.

Play2Live pre-sale starts on January 25th
Why not allow escrow? I don't understand the reluctance to escrow unless you have something to hide. We have no way to trust you because we have no way of verifying your reputation.

You could even set a slightly higher price for escrow and that would be OK. Like 75BTC without escrow and 80BTC with escrow.

I really have trouble believing anybody could have placed an order without knowing you or escrow.
