I'm sure we'll get them soon enough, though you can disable avatars like signatures (though it probably won't stop people from complaining). I was wondering how long it would be before sig campaigns capitalise on this or people start renting/selling them individually:
I don't want to sell my avatar else people will start ignoring my PMs as well
I won't be able to even sell my gift cards or exchange money due to that. Selling my signature space is enough 
BTW, did Theymos actually play a prank? I don't like this man in my avatar. He looks awful
I want my "Mother Mary" avatar back.

Why oh why? Tried changing my avatar just to be in with the trends, but then:
Already resized the picture to 100x80, still:

Doubt it'll happen. Too easy for newbs to abuse it by impersonating others. Besides, I think it's a nice additional perk to receive once you hit a Full Member status which doesn't take that long to achieve.
