Congratulations mate there is no shame in coming out plane and actually admitting you were doing something wrong and you want a change. Joining bounty is not against the official rules that why people don’t get banned because of it but what is an account when it doesn’t have any level of credits from its community members.

I have learnt from the stories of now respectable members about how they started just like you and later made a change that they are benefiting from. I believe if you can have the that strength to want a change you can make it possible, make good post, read more and participate in a manner that shows you have actually giving up the life of spamming.

Good day everyone. When a friend told me how he makes money from bounties, I joined Bitcointalk and have solely participated in bounties ever since. I've been in bounty for a while, and during that time I've heard and read some topics about how unproductive and time-wasting they are here. However, I stayed because I wanted to confirm and see it for myself, and from what I saw and experienced, I realized how unproductive and time-wasting they are.
I ultimately made the decision to make amends and resolved to be more engaged with other forum sections to learn more about it and, ideally, discover Bitcoin. I'm hoping I still have time to start over and prove myself in this place. I need guidance
First I must commend you for making the effort to change your mind about the forum since your aim in joining the forum was to make money which is why you jumped on bounties for a quick buck but you end up disappointed that most of the altcoin projects are scams and doesn't add anything to both investors and bounty hunters.
This is why we are advised not to waste our energy and time on bounties, and for you to have realized your mistake and be ready to take your time to learn the fundamentals of bitcoin and its ecosystem, this will help to build financial intelligence.

There still some bounties that pays decent amount but not the same amount during 2017 altcoin craze. I believe you want to pursue joining signature campaign now since you want to start over here in the forum. The only advice I can give you is to be creative and always use the search bar of the forum if you want to find answer to your question here in the forum.

Beginners and Help and Meta board has a lot of useful thread that can guide you in both forum and cryptocurrency knowledge. No one can give you here an exact guidance. You will need to do your own research if you want to become an outstanding member here in the forum.

It's time for you to make yourself better secretly with more extensive knowledge than your friends, then one day you'll start thinking of more effective ways to make money in this space. I'dn't be against you hunting for small income on that part, it's mostly from my past forum activity through someone else's information as well. But at least with this new knowledge you'll be more selective about joining bounties and finding gems from thousands of shit projects.
OP needs also to try to learn more activities in bitcoin like trading and use these platform as his coach or getting ideas on how to learn more. Bounties were not profitable now unlike before unless it is paid in BTC weekly and not in project coins. While finding a good bounties its also good to learn in this forum some strategy and techniques in trading as well other activities that might help in making money. It might not be in bounties but maybe you’ll find other opportunities in the service section.

OP, you're right, bounties are a waste of time, and it's best to avoid such projects.
I suggest you focus on this forum first, learn from older members, learn something about crypto and then start participating in forum discussions.
In this way, by helping other members, you will slowly build your reputation on this forum, your forum rank will grow, and finally you will be able to participate in well-paid btc signature campaigns.
It's important to be a member who can contribute to this forum.
Good luck!

I believe there was a time that bounties could make you a lot of money, especially when projects were just starting out, especially when it was ICOs, IEOs, and launchpads all the different ways invented to find funding for a specific project and make use of the marketing through bounties and all the other things that they do.

At least now, you would use the forum in the way it should be and make use of the learnings available. If you could also share something that you know, you're welcome to do it for sure.

I've seen peoples critics about bounties and how people spend time working themselves out and later end up being paid small amounts and sometimes end up being scammed by managers or project team. Why work so hard for a payment that's not even certain I'm glad you finally figured out what's best for you. It's never too late for anything I just believe when you are determined you can achieve anything in life.
If you are really ready to learn about bitcoin this forum is the best place for all you, you just have to read a lot. There are different topics being discussed here to help you on your journey and don't hesitate to ask questions when you you don't understand anything.

I Hope you are familiar with the forum rules if not read the pinned topic you find on the forum.

In the long run, you made a good decision before burying yourself even deeper in something that is difficult to get out of. You lost some time, but you still proved to yourself that what you were doing is not something you want to spend your time on, and sometimes first-hand experience is much more valuable than creating an opinion based on what others tell you.

As for the forum, it's never too late to go in a different direction and all you need is to find what interests you and try to participate in the discussion. Of course, before that I suggest that you read the rules of the forum, and that you adhere to them, especially that you do not plagiarize other people's work and be original in your posts.

The truth is that bounties of today do more harm than good to the project that is been promoted. I remember doing research about a project that launched a bounty campaign here and when I got to Twitter all I saw were so many twitter accounts making same post filled with same hashtags and I'm sure that does persons who knows nothing about bounty when they come across something like that they might think that the project is using some kind of a bot to make post on Twitter because all post were the same with no meaning to it.

And again the reason why most hunters nowadays get little to no pay is because of the number of hunters that participate in a bounty campaign, imagine a campaign that's paying $2000 for a four weeks twitter campaign and more than a thousand hunters register for that campaign. What exactly do they expect to earn from such campaign? $2 for four weeks?

Bounties now are worthless and are a waste of time. I don't know why many forum members still participate in bounties. There are many scam projects, and the companies are not keeping their word to their customers and the marketing team (bounty hunters).

It is great that you realize this very early and start to make a move. So, now you want to participate in group activities.
Here you will find some rules and regulations for newbies: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727
You don't have to discourage this person, you are momentarily promoting Sinbad Signature yourself and getting paid in BTC every week, why can't you just tell him to post quality posts so that he can rank up and start promoting Bitcoin-paying campaigns? They always pay every week and the waste of time comment from you only happens with Altcoin bounties.

OP, I was once passionate about the Bounty, thinking that new projects could benefit both the community and me as a contributor. But after some time, I began to realize that everything develops either through deceit or through the imperfection of new projects, which very quickly either turned into scams or simply disappeared.
You came to the right conclusion. Do not waste time on this; it is better to start studying bitcoin, participate in discussions, and read; over time, you will better realize how and where you can either earn or invest with the possibility of further profit. I wish you good luck.

I don't know why your friend introduced you about Bitcointalk and invited you to join because of bounties that are not good.
In general bounties isn't good but if he joined all of the bounties and participate it, he might likely can earn a good amount money for few bounties. Bounties isn't hard too because you only need to share, like, comment and create one liner post.

It's not surprising anymore someone only join this forum for money purpose, because that's how this forum will get a lot traffic.

However, you can try your luck and follow some guides listed from this "List Of How To Get Merit Guides Thread"
Not all user have a sole purpose to earn merit, actually the more someone want to earn merit, he will high likely wouldn't earn any single merit because he have a wrong mindset. If @OP only want to learn about Bitcoin in this forum, he can just exploring this forum without create any post, and there's nothing wrong with it.

Did your friend make good money from bounties?

If you have been in bounties for a while, you did know they are good or bad. Did you earn good money from your time with bounties?

If you did not earn good from bounties, it is a good confirmation for what you read in some topics about time-wasting with bounties.

I don't really know about bounties and now I'm still in the reading stage and keep reading in this forum.

Because you're here to think of making money not gaining knowledge in the first place.  It's easy if you've knowledgable enough which is many rewards waiting ahead.  There are too many opportunities outside the forum to bring the knowledge that you obtained here and also quite good if you seek first a website that hires a freelancer job which I think enhanced your skills.

I tend to agree that's totally wasting of time and the reason I quit a long time ago.
It's over now not like before, yes before it was profitable even joining airdrop when I was here in 2017, but now, most of them turned into scams.

I have past experienced earning from bounties before I already sold my altcoins and tokens a long time ago they are legit except for a few coins that are still in my wallet that have never been sold because it's not listed.
There are lots of bounties out there the problem is they become a scam(most of them are scam) and can't able to sell them because it is not listed yet on any exchanges.
As suggested above joining a signature campaign requires a high rank since you are still a newbie you need to earn merit first but this is not an easy task without knowledge about Bitcoin and the forum you won't be able to earn merits.
However, you can try your luck and follow some guides listed from this "List Of How To Get Merit Guides Thread"

Good to realize that spending some time on bounty campaign is not really worth it since almost all of them doesn't give any compensation to their hunters and its a huge waste of time for months of work. But you didn't lose something since you gain an experience and just be consistent about learnings since for sure you can earn with it in future. More knowledge to learn here and also skills so better keep more engagement on other section to learn more ideas from other people.
