Yes, above me all correct use vanitygen to custom your bitcoin address.
or if you want to make more custom more than 5 characters use this web https://vircurvault.com/bitcoin/vanity-address but you should pay for it.  Grin
I would never trust any website that offer a vainty address service because they will have control on your private key and they can steal your btc whenever they want
It is not difficult to create the address using a normal PC. It takes few minutes to create 5 letter customized address

its cool but I think the innovation this name. can make you too open or one can know that the address is yours. and bitcoin be not anonymous. so it's better to make a pseudonym instead of the original name

How many of you use Bitcoin Vanity Addresses ?

They are the addresses that can be customized .
For example, My BTC Address is :  1APoorVr8yRZZSM9DP76VCgrmkd54jHdkR

Show off Your Cool BTC Addresses below !!!

This is a advanced development in Bitcoin. The address has got such a option to customize. It makes users remember their address easily. Recently saw a option in dash in which we can customize address giving a separate name.

I am going to make my own BTC address now, its very good idea that we can have bitcoin addresses with custom alphabets and digits. I would buy one with my own name if possible. I would also try to tell about this to my friends. I have used such services in past but they were charging high.

I remember seeing something like that thread for a couple of times before. I used to use a lot of vanity addresses but now I don't trust vanity addresses anymore. You can create yourself or send btc to unused address, that doesn't have to have an owner. The beauty of Bitcoin is there are unlimited amount of Bitcoin addresses.

I had a vanity address starting with the word Xana "a computer program in a tv series I used to watch", Stopped using vanity addresses in general because of the unnecessary additional risk to the storage of BTC in that address.

if you use vanitygen offline mode (use Cmd) to create your own custome bitcoin address it's very safe, no malware, no virus, No risk, no one can see your privaet key. but if you use online mode it's very high risk some people lost his bitcoin.

I heard storing too many bitcoins on a vanity address could get them stolen because the service you created your address at knows your private keys and someone with an access to the database could rip you off easily. I don't know if this is 100% true just heard rumors.

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about. How could they know your private keys? I thought they have no way of knowing the  private keys they produce, otherwise it makes no sense.

Took me about five hours on a cheap USD VPS to generate this address. Been using it for a really long time and I really like it! Smiley.

It might be (when services are involved), but generating addresses online isn't recommended anyhow. However, it is best to avoid using such services and generate your own vanity address on your own machine. It's as safe as the standard generation of addresses..

I never bothered with this 'address customization' because I don't think it is important at all. Bitcoin addresses are like bank account number to me.
So you wouldn't prefer a simple bank number that you can remember or that symbolizes something? It is really easy to generate your own vanity address.

I these vanity addresses safe to use? I heard that some services which can be used to create these are not so transparent.

Only split key vanity gen is safe. Don't trust a website that generates a key out of thin air. What you need is to create an address youself, use the hex format of your public key and from there they can create a 'part private key' use that and your original private key to create your very own vanity address!

Mine is 17788W1nEqenL5DqLjf9c4P4R89GfYnXr3

There is no "i" so uses 1 to replace.

There is "i" actually just not "I".

1Chris4GEoLLjdh4juFXGwY7snaazuxvKb

It helps because then there is only one option for "i" so when you go with the case insensitivity option that one letter can only be a lowercase "i".

Oh... My bad! All the while I thought "i" is not allowed so tried to avoid it. Thanks and I will go back and generate more!

i've own unique vanity bitcoin address started with arranged number like 123456 but i doubt with its security so i decide to back to my old address which i think have better security because the privatekey never been exposed in any address generating software, but it seems i'm wrong, probably will get back to vanity address soon

The software is solid man, terminate your internet connection whilst doing it or run on a computer that does not connect.
