If Dogecoin maintains it present value, it will overtake Litecoin in market cap once all Dogecoins are mined (next year). So I'm confident that Dogecoin will be the #2 in market cap by June of 2015.

More terrible news for Dogecoin!!!

It seems that Dogecoin is now in the top ten for market cap. It just surpassed Quark (the Keiser pump and dump coin). Theses are really troubling days for Dogecoin. I guess these are the growing pains that all alt-coins experienced in their first month or so of birth. I'm just glad that I only bought few Dogecoins, imagine how I'd feel seeing all these developments if I had much more Doges. Such sarcasm.

If you think PR is everything for a coin...  Roll Eyes

What can Litecoin do that Dogecoin can't. Technologically they are identical. Dogecoin is missing the infrastructure that Litecoin has established, but there are plenty of projects in the works to correct that. Remember, Dogecoin is just a little over 1 month old. But PR, LoL, Dogecoin has lots and lots of that and yeah, I think that PR will do wonders for Dogecoin. It currently has more PR in 5 weeks than Litecoin has been able to gather in its entire existence.

As I type this I'm disappointed to see that the current mining diff is approaching 600. Less coins for me now. Guess there are miners jumping ship elsewhere and coming over to Doge.
The coins is really young and I bet the rate the infrastructure is being established is much much higher than in the case of litecoin. Also litecoins network hashrate is around 115GH/s, while dogecoins is over 40GH/s. Who knows, maybe dogecoin will be silver to bitcoins gold someday ;]

An actual well planned out, stable currency?

Face it:  Dogecoin was never MEANT to be serious.  For crying out loud, the things has blocks that go from 1-1 mill, randomly.

Anything that adds to the infrastructure for Dogecoin will help its value versus the other coins.  Silkroad may have given bitcoin a bad image, but right now dogecoin's image is that it is a successful joke coin, so this is a major step up for it.  I think it also helps explain the recent jump in value of Doge.

I just didn't want Doge to go down that dirty alley. But crypto is freedom and folks will do what they want.

I have a solution to your problem:  Spend your Dogecoins at the Christian Porn Store!

People know that there has never been another coin like DOGE before ever (including Bitcoin) and they are mad they missed the boat.

what boat did they miss?  1mhash can get you 14,000 doge per day.  at a difficulty of 619.

if anybody thinks they can't mine doge, they're just lazy doge.

I think its bound to happen if a coin gets enough attention,
Litecoin didn't because it always been overshadowed by bitcoin.

The idea that a single website selling weed could give Doge a bad rep is laughable at best. There's an old saying that there's no such thing as bad PR, and right now especially, Doge is at that exact spot. It's caught enough people's eye and is developing a good word of mouth following. Also, in case you haven't noticed, "weed" isn't the forbidden item that it once was. There's more people smoking now than ever, and without going way off topic here, let's just say that if they publicized that you could buy buds with your Dogecoins, not only would it not push people away, you'd probably draw an even bigger crowd of interested people. Times are changing right now quickly, and these coins are here to stay. Whether or not coin "X" or coin "Y" makes it is solely up the developers, and word of mouth that spreads about the coin, among other obvious economic factors. Dogecoin has managed to get quite a bit of that naturally, and has plans to spread out more as I understand it. Also to "that guy" who wants to just call it another pump and dump coin, it might help you to use this beautiful search engine here on the interwebz called Google, although Bing works well too. Before you make a fool of yourself again on anther thread, educate yourself as to what is actually being done around the coin and how it came about. The idea that this is a pump and dump coin is almost as funny as the idea that a "weed" store would ruin Dogecoin. Relax everyone, time will be the ultimate judge as to the success of this coin, not a single storefront, or jackass' thoughts.

Doge has good support and community. Yes there are bad coin and false coins on market and it is used for bad shit.

Some coin will prevail more then others cuz they have community support and that is important.

To me a Dogemarket doesn't make much sense. Until it is worth more there is going to be MILLIONs exchanged. I mined for like 2 hrs and had 2k

In the first 5 weeks when Bitcoin came out, how many coins did a miner get for 2 hours of work and how much are those coins worth today?
or that guy who paid for a pizza delivery with 10,000 bitcoins?   i regret nothing

Exactly!!!

and how many millions of crap coins have been mined that 6 months later the networks are dead.  btc coin was the first.  but remember chinacoin.  that is where dogecoin is going.  Its in the spotlight now but wait 6 months after the pump and dump is over.

And you're certain of this because?

I know, I know. I just didn't want our Doge going down that path.
