I have reasons to believe the opposite, I expect the bot to stay up and running, busting plagiarizers indefinitely. The expenses needed for it to be online 24/7 seems to be secured. So fellas, fasten your seatbelts, there will be a shit ton of those ban appeal threads and maybe having a separate sub-board isn't the worst idea given how much they clog Meta.
Bot likely will be kept running, I believe, but over time, there will be less or no plagiarism made by higher rank users; and most of plagiarism-found users in the future come from lower rank users, especially newbies. I don't think Newbies will create Ban Appeals, they don't care about that. Does it make sense? In the past, there were suggestion to have sub-boards for merit, trust issues, but all of them went away and cooled down, ban appeals will follow the same pattern, in my opinion.

For now meta section is the best section for ban appeals. If it will be created another section and isolate it for the ban appeals only then mods will be having hard time to attend the needs of the ban appeal users. This because here in meta section anyone is active and can help the mods to identify why one user gets ban. As we all know that most of the users getting ban assume that they are innocent in their violations specifically in copy and pasting activity (Plagiarism).

So for now, let us help the mods in the ban appeals of those users wishes for a clearer reason why they got ban. Isolation will only less likely get to have a lower responding rate compare to this section unless if theymos will hire someone to moderate in a ban appeal section to respond the ban appeals.

the terrible ban wave won't last for too long and it will cool down soon.

At some point if you observant there are trending topics/discussions on meta section.
It can range from merit discussion, dt discussion etc so if you suggest ban appeal section should they also be boards for trending topics also?
Here is the meta board and it meant to serve as a section for discussing issues as regards to the forum ban appeal is one of those issues(although some people misuse it). But suggesting a board for ban appeal is unnecessary

The main reason from which I believe that such suggested Ban Appeal Section won't be created is, the terrible ban wave won't last for too long and it will cool down soon. As you can see in the following two tables, most of recently banned users in the banwave this month (due to bot, as we all believed) have come from lower rank users, Member rank and below ranks account for nearly 88 percent of total banned cases (from 11-15/5/2019). For higher rank users, they actually learn from this terrible lesson, and even won't have intention to copy and paste without source in the future. I did not update the table with given data from LoyceV recent days, but look at data, most of newest banned users are Newbies.
When banwave cools down, ban appeals will be less created, and such Ban Appeal Section might be unnecessary.
Overview (from 11/5/2019 to 15/5/2019)

In general, there are 1124 total banned users during the period from 11/5/2109 to 15/5/2019. Ranks from Brand new to Member (including Copper Member) account for 986 banned cases which equal to 87.7% of total banned cases.
In the same period, there are 63 (5.6%), 43 (3.8%), 25 (2.2%) and 7 (0.6%) users at Full Member, Senior Member, Hero Member, and Legendary ranks got perma-banned, respectively

Recently, a lot of accounts were banned and as expected they will be more active on the Meta board to appeal that.

Everything I see now on the Meta section is about Ban appeal, so I think its better to have a specific section where those accounts can appeal and someone can address their problem so the Meta board will have a more good issues to discuss. (Maybe this is not the first time suggestion about ban appeal section)

They still deserve some explanation especially to those good users who got banned because of the mistake they've made years ago. Some succeeds to get un-banned so I think others can also have the chance,  just keep it civil and right. God Bless everyone!

Its a great suggestion to have a childboard like this maybe under Meta board. This is just to lessen the volume of thread about ban appeal on the Meta board.
Though there's a specific guidelines for them to appeal but yes, they still want to make their own topic just to make sure they can get the right answer as fast as possible.

There is no childboard for Ban Appeal, but there is actually a topic for this purpose, created by Alex_Sr: ✅[UNBAN APPEAL] Total list + Unban progress. I think that this topic fitted to your suggestion if it will be updated regularly by both Alex_Sr, and forum users, especially whom make their ban appeals.

With that, it’s better organization and makes life easier for the moderators to know if they have already read the application, whether it’s approved or denied, collecting everything in one section could benefit with regards to the forum.
That's true, moderators can just look at that section and can easily saw if they reviewed the appeal or not.

Thanks for that links but it looks like the banned users still want to create their own thread to simply prove themselves and its better if there's a specific section for them to appeal and let the Meta free from flood.  Wink
