Somebody messed up and edited a ban trigger which temprarily unbanned everyone. Theymos sorted it though.

The ban was never temporary. There was a configuration issue with the ban system that's now been resolved.
Shouldn't a permanently banned account have their signature space cleaned?Got a response: only nuked accounts get their sig cleared.
